The craziness of 2020 has continued and with some uncertainty, brings the question to golfers about traveling. Will you travel for golf this year? Have anything set already or playing it by ear?

I guess I'm technically playing it by ear.

Other than one planned trip, I usually don't travel too far for just golf.

Trying to re-schedule a golf school I canceled in March in Austin. Now I may have to go suffer in the TX heat, but maybe that kills the virus ;)

prolly not flying. Going to try to play some down in San Antonio and with the Georgetown THPers at some point.
outside chance if current fall trip is cancelled, then wife wants to go to Idaho or Canada instead.

it. kills. everything. 🤗

Probably not.

Flying to Phoenix from Houston 6/15 - 6/19. We're playing Troon North, The Boulders and We-ko-pa.

I'm excited about the golf and hitting Casino Arizona; I'm not too excited about what the airport scenario might look like and flying with a mask.

Didn't really have anything planned for the year, so probably not. Would have to be something pretty special or somewhere I could drive to.

I’ll be driving from PA to NJ, but not sure that counts. Planning to have a group outing in Central PA around a Penn State football game 🤞 and hopefully flying or driving to NC for a week later this year, which will include much golf!

hopefully not me, hottest I've ever been was in Dallas in mid August, and I was used to what I thought was hot in MO with high humidity; no comparison

I am thinking about it. I would like to connect with a buddy who lives a distance from me so I may make a trip to connect with him.

Traveling by car sometime this summer to Jacksonville, FL for a Club Champion putter fitting. Other than that, probably not unless I am fortunate enough to get into a THP Experience. If that happens, travel is absolutely on.

We (tentatively) have a golf trip planned for Death Valley Furnace Creek in early August. Just depends on what this virus does with most businesses reopening right now. That's about a 300 mile round trip.

We will also be taking a road trip in the fall. Not sure where we are going as yet. Most likely we'll just hop in our rig, and start driving. Maybe flip a coin for the initial direction.

Obviously, should we run into a golf course during our travels, we stop and play it.

I may take a road trip for some golf but all my other golf trips that involved flying have been cancelled, so I’m not sure they make it back on the books until 2021.

I doubt I'll be flying anywhere for golf. We've talked about maybe doing a family vacation that could include flying but I'm not sure my wife will ultimately want to do that. I'd have no problem driving somewhere to play if it's a reasonable distance.

didn't have any golf-focused air travel plans pre-covid19 and don't have any plans currently.

A couple road trips (one 8 hour one), but no flights planned. I would fly if a sweet opportunity arose though.

no, but not because of covid. it's a big year for my wife and me. 15 years of marriage, she turns 40. but she wants to put off any big trips to celebrate because of covid. I would feel like a giant turd if I said, "I know we aren't going anywhere to celebrate together, but I'm going on a golf trip without you. McLovin out!"

Traveling by car, and plane.

I really hope so. Really really hope so. UK not showing any signs of opening up foreign travel at all - we're still banned from meeting anyone else other than outside and at a distance of less than 2m.

Not only the MC, but I had been hoping to get away to Turkey or Spain again with my old man in the autumn, but not looking like it this year. We're talking about possibly Srping next year but I'm not keen on booking anything just yet given the reluctance of airlines to offer any refunds at the moment.

Magic eight ball says, ask again later.
Thee only way I’m traveling outside of 5 miles for golf is if I get into a THP event.

Regional driving trips, yes. Playing a Pro-Am about 2 hour drive away on Monday. A few other courses in the state will happen over the season. Will play when visiting Colorado around July 4th. And I still want to get in some golf in another state, likely ID or UT.

We are driving to Charleston for vacation in 3 weeks. We just booked my yearly buddies trip in September to Gatlinburg, TN as well. Both are driving trips for us though. A friend and I are going to Bandon Dunes in 2021 though. That will probably be the first time I fly somewhere. I'm honestly not concerned with catching Covid, but I am concerned with spreading it.

Hopefully for the MC.

I don't have anything planned that I can't make by car, but if something came up I think I'd be willing to fly. :confused2:
