Well it appears my computer is sick. It has the repair virus and I can't get it to do anything. I started it up in safe mode with networking but the virus still wont allow it online. Any ideas from you guys that deal with this stuff?

I haven't had it, but can you download malwarebytes on another computer, rename the exe file and install it on your infected computer? In safe mode of course.

P.S. Open the doors for the shoulda got a mac comments! hahaha

You might try this as well. It's free for 30 days but got rid of some nasty stuff off a couple of different computers that were dropped off at my house to fix!

Guess ill have to try it. I tried Mac and hated it. I hate this crap too. I'd like to have a few moments alone with the person who made this with all the rage and fury I have inside of me right now.

Look at it this way, the more you learn how to fix your computer the quicker you can do it the next time!

And I take it that System Restore doesn't work?

(Oops, I guess this is actually the Windows Restore Virus)

Yeah system restore ain't working. If it would let me log on in safe mode I could fix it but it won't. I just want to break something in a violent manner right now

Malwarebytes or Trojan Remover aren't doing anything for you?

It would suck to have to back all your files and docs up and just start over.

One, do you know which virus you have? As in, did you have an anti-virus program, or two or three, installed before the virus infected everything? You have to know which virus is infecting your system. If so, use another computer to Google how to remove said virus and follow instructions. If not, the easiest thing to do is just install a fresh image of Windows and immediately install an anti-virus program. Depending on how deeply rooted the virus is, you may have some remnants remaining which will rebuild themselves after the fresh Windows install. Run the anti-virus to determine if any such remnants remain. If not, you're all good to install other programs and create a restore point. If not, use another computer to Google how to remove said virus and follow instructions. After this is all complete, only visit thehackersparadise.com and refrain from visiting virus infecting porn sites.

I've never been a fan of running multiple antivirus programs. Anti-spyware programs, yes, antivirus programs no.

I have had some luck in the past just doing a system restore. Just back to a date before you had a problem.

Hey man, I have not had that particular virus, but I have had to deal with some dusys. If it is not letting you on the net, then it may have screwed with your proxy settings, which can be adjusted manually in your browser. Look under your settings in IE after booting in safe mode with networking, and see if it has you on a proxy. If so, switch over to the proper internet provider, and see if you can download a program to nuke it.

It doesn't hurt. I've got MS Security Essentials and AVG on all of my pc's. Not all engines are as adept as others as recognizing a virus. Basically, I assuming, the same thought you probably have for multiple anti-spyware programs.

It's best to use another computer for this. Most viruses are written to not allow downloads via internet connection for the express purpose of not allow a user to download the program which will obliterate the virus.

FYI, I would've multi-quoted, but the comment was posted as I was posting mine. So I didn't see it to multi-quote.

I had something similar a few weeks back. It looked like a MS spyware had found a virus and kept trying to prompt me to buy the software. Don't provide your credit card info, it's definitely a virus. To remove, I had to reboot and start up in safe mode and then start up the system Restore from the command line.

I have had alot of viruses on my PC's over the years. The only way to truly get rid of the virus is to format your hard drive and reinstall windows. Back up your data first.

To check proxy setting, in IE under tools, go to Internet Options, click the connections tab, click on the LAN settings button. If there is a check in the box under proxy server uncheck that box.

After that you need to try to stop the process from running, CTRL Alt Del and stop the process, unfortunately with this virus, the name of the process could be a random string. I think it is a .exe process and at this point what difference does it make if you stop the wrong process?

If you get the proxy back to normal and the process stopped you should be able to run Malwarebytes or similar.

As someone mentioned here it is easier if you have another computer near to guide you through the fix also to download files onto a usb thumb drive which can be copied to the infected computer. Just don't put it back in the clean computer after using it in the infected one.

Good luck, sounds like a nasty one from what I can find out on websites.

Its a fake spyware remover. I'm not sure why my spyware blocker didn't catch it. The danger thing wont let me access nothing. I can't get online, can't change connection options, and can't reset back to an earlier date. I don't have another computer here either

I don't agree. Starting over is only a last resort. I have never had to reformat because of a virus.

I have heard this one is a MF though.

Does't look like it's easily removed manually.

Make sure you already have Malwarebytes loaded onto every computer you have! The Trojan Remover program is another that I install on all of my computers.

I have those smalls but it wont allow me access to any programs whatsoever, lets me into control panel but it stops everything I try to change saying task manager has been disabled by my administrator

Have you watched this? Not sure if it's any good or not, but I found it searching for how to remove it.

Mine is slightly different from that. Mine pops up like a spyware killer scanning my comp with windows XP repair at the top. It blocks every command I try to enter or change

Is it this?

I hope you get this figured out ASAP.. Doesnt sound fun

You can't reboot and hit the F8 key to start in safe mode with networking and then download and install Malwarebytes?
