The Haney Project Rush Limbaugh [Spoilers]

My biggest concern with the show is when they show all of the "coming this season" they show a lot of confrontational type stuff. I'm hoping it is just the GC thinking that controversy will increase ratings, but we'll see.

Did look this up

I totally understand your argument TC, especially once you factor in that Haney's wife will play a big role in this season. I know there aren't a lot of tips that we all can take away, but like JB said, it's not an instruction show. Rush does seem genuinely interested in listening and learning from Haney, so from that standpoint, he should grow as a golfer and that I think is worthy of watching. Barkley was too screwed up from the get go and for that matter Romano's attitude was too. Rush seems to want this. Who am I to judge that? That's something we all can relate to.

Politics aside, I liked the first show. Rush seems like he really wants to get better, and Hank seems like he will have a good time teaching. I think it will be entertaining. Did Rush state if he had a goal or not? I can't remember if there was something specific he wanted to accomplish, or if he just wanted to get better.

All I really heard him say was that he knew he wasn't, and would never be, a pro caliber golfer - but he wanted to the best golfer he could be.

I might watch this week because George Brett is going to be on it.

Episode 2 is in the books and I'm starting to see a trend. These guys start with Hank and then Hank tears down their swings and then they suck for a while. Rush wants this, but doesn't want to practice. So there is conflict with Hank there. We'll see where this ends up in that regard.

Good show, liked the 1st episode better, but still enjoyable. I'll have to keep the tip in mind when my swing starts breaking down and going off the toe too much.

The Brett Bros own our WHL hockey team, Spokane Chiefs. I've seen Bobby there often (I think he is the CEO) but I think I've only seen George there once. (I haven't been to many games in awhile though so...)

I didn't know that dude worked for the KC Royals 1979-1983.

Youngsters, hahaha.

Can you believe you can actually say that there's a generation out there that doesn't remember when the Royals were winning pennants? I miss Quiz and that submarine delivery.

Watched tonight's show and it's much more enjoyable than the previous two. Rush being open to Haney's teaching helps. It just drives me insane when he pounds his chest. Rush, please stop doing that.

Ahhh, back in the day, when Royals-Yankees was one of the biggest rivalries in baseball. Can anyone say "Pine Tar"?

Back when I lived in Joliet, IL a friend of mine's cousin pitched for the Royals (Larry Gura). I remember catching some of his pitches in the backyard when he was home. Can you say ouch?

I remember Larry Gura. He was a former Yankee also and always seemed to pitch well against them.

I watched it with my dad and it wasnt that bad. Kinda funny, but this season seems kinda awkward for some reason

^ agreed. I don't know if its because of rush or the whole hanks wife thing, but I feel like I'm watching someone walk through a dynamite factory with a torch.

I agree with TC for the most part but I do watch, I didn't see.the barkley series and couldn't stand romano or whoever. But as JB said there are some tips such as the putting one that apply to everyone. Me personally I would rather it be hank ambushing some random guy on the course and giving him an 18 hole lesson, but I'm not the golf channel.

honestly, i don't know why but it bothers me that this is the GC's #1 rated show. i certainly don't watch it. i thought the barkley season was just ok......and clearly, whatever hank did with him didn't really have any lasting impact as sir charles now golfs left handed. i watched one episode of the romano show and never tuned back in. i didn't even give this one a chance, nor will i. there's no instruction, and the show seems more about personal agendas then actual instruction. i understand that the GC has the golf fix and that this show isn't about that, but honestly, i can think of nothing worse than watching an overweight, cigar chuffing, radio personality hit thousands of balls, and hacking shot after shot. the self promotion that seems to be going on isn't what the haney project should be about. how many times do we have to be reminded how many lessons hank haney's given? they should rename it the haney jusitification or something. i'd rather watch golf myself. there's pga tour, euro tour, nationwide tour, hooters tour, heck, tons of tours, i'd rather watch any of that. in fact, i'd rather watch point break or analyze this to tell you the truth.

Pretty much sums it up for me as well. Maybe I just don't care for Rush.

So Rush made the trip to the Haney Ranch on last night's show, and again Rush refuses to exercise or practice. And again Haney has laid out his lines of golf balls and made Rush hit them all. "Miss the board, hit the tee." I don't know how many times Haney said that, but it was a lot. Haney wife had her token appearance, and she did a photo shoot for a magazine. And at the end of the day, Rush is no further ahead. I would like to see some actually instruction out of this show. Haney is one of the top rated teachers/coaches in America. Why isn't he teaching??

Last night did it for me. I tuned in to see golf instruction and instead see Haney's wife doing cheesecake photo shoots on a putt putt green. I'm done with this show.

I'm just about there with you. I'm loosing my sense of humor with Haney.

I agree also, Rush is still entertaining, but the rest I could do without!

I like Rush more and more all the time. It started with his appearance on Family Guy. He's a very interesting person. Sure he's very opinionated, but that's his thing.

Not a fan of rush at all. The group or the talk show host. Didn't he get caught coming back from the Philippines with a bunch of Viagra for some unknown reason???

Edited for Flooder.
