Asics is a renowned brand with a reputation for producing some of the most comfortable running shoes worldwide. Regardless of whether one is a marathon runner or a golfer, it is imperative to wear shoes that fit correctly, provide adequate support, and do not cause discomfort. Fortunately, Asics has integrated several of its comfort and support technologies and design elements built for runners into their golf shoes. Today, we highlight two models, including the new and updated GEL-KAYANO ACE 2 from the 2024 Asics golf shoes catalogue.
“The GEL-KAYANO ACE 2 provides a strong foundation for golfers and their swings, with extra stability and comfort for rounds in any conditions. Specialized Flex Grooves enhance rotation during the swing and make for an easier walk. All-around, these shoes put golfers in the best position to feel their best on the course.” -ASICS General Manager Ryan Polanco
When choosing a pair of golf shoes, comfort is crucial, especially for those who prefer walking. Asics incorporates some of their latest technologies from their running shoes into the GEL-KAYANO ACE 2. This shoe features FlyteFoam, 55% lighter than the industry standard, and ASICS GEL, providing excellent shock absorption to keep your feet comfortable throughout your round. If you have yet to experience Asics GEL, know that your heels will thank you.
Asics is a brand that values design philosophy. Therefore, they put a lot of thought into designing its spikeless outsoles. For Asics, the focus is on providing the right amount of grip for golfers throughout their swing and even while walking the course. The GEL-KAYANO Ace 2 features a wedge-shaped stud that offers additional grip needed while walking downhill, ensuring golfers feel stable and connected to the ground during every aspect of their round.
Lastly, even though the GEL-KAYANO ACE 2 keeps things light and breathable with a flexible mesh upper, it still boasts some impressive waterproofing thanks to a thin PU lining, making these shoes a solid choice for all my fellow dew sweepers.

GEL-ACE PRO M
In the spring of 2022, Asics introduced the GEL-ACE Pro M golf shoes, which catered to the preferences of conventional golfers who favor a spiked design. Asics’ Pro M golf shoes, regarded as their most premium product, were designed to offer comfort and stability to golfers during their 18-hole walks. These shoes feature a waterproof synthetic leather upper and are equipped with popular Asics technologies, such as FLYTEFOAM and ASICS GEL.
The company initially launched the Pro M golf shoes in two colorways – white/black and black/pure silver, which was comparatively safer than the brand’s other shoe color options. With the Pro M model remaining part of their product line in 2024, instead of a complete refresh, Asics has announced two new colorways: White/Mako Blue and White/Midnight, scheduled for release on February 21.

I haven’t seem them in person yet, but definitely on my short list as I have 2 pair of the gen1 Kayanos and love them.
I’m consciously trying to avoid this thread because if I look too much I’ll end up buying. I just bought a pair of Asics running shoes a couple weeks ago and they’re very comfortable. If their golf shoes are similar I’d probably love them since I walk all my rounds.
No sir, Duo BOAs are holding up well.
Looking forward to your purchase haha
They are. I just had an issue with the tongue shifting to the side all the time when I bought the first iteration so I haven’t revisited. But I never had that issue with any of their running shoes.
I’m not, but I’ve been wearing the 23’s a lot lately.
I bought the white Kayanos and really like them.
Do you have any experience with the last generation and if so can you compare feel and fit?
Yes. Fit is similar, but feel is more sturdy/structured. They added elastic connecting the tongue to the sole of the shoe which prevents it from slipping and provides a better feel (YMMV).
Nice! I’m looking forward to trying a pair. I have 2 pair of the first gen and my only complaint is the fabric in the heel area wore a hole after just one season. That’s probably more a me problem than shoe problem.
Sonofa….
I feel like this should be standard issue THP staff footwear.
I kind of agree. @JB how can we negotiate these things haha
I’m on it.
Mizuno slid Asics a $20 to make this colorway.
Adidas ZGs are probably a better buy. FlyteFoam and Lightstrike are pretty similar, but Lightstrike is lighter and Lightstrike Pro is significantly more comfortable.
I just bought a pair of these
