In recent years, Cobra Golf has been at the forefront of design and their 2017 lineup showcases that innovation is not a thing of the past. Combining golf equipment and technology has been at the front door for a little while, but the new KING F7 line is the first with integrated shot tracking and GPS powered by Arccos to deliver what some would call, a “Smart Driver”.
The two drivers being introduced today, are the KING F7 and KING F7+ and combined with KING LTD Black feature what is called Cobra Connect. Powered by Arccos, the Cobra Connect system features an ultralight sensor that is embedded in the butt end of the grip, allowing golfers to automatically track the distance and accuracy of every drive. When paired with the free app on your smartphone, you will be able to play such games as King of the Hole, Virtual Long Drive and of course track performance data, GPS distances for thousands of courses and even have access to exclusive Cobra content from coaches and PGA Tour Professionals.
“We are really excited to introduce our longest and smartest drivers with the new F7 and F7+ products,” said Tom Olsavsky, VP of Research & Development, COBRA Golf. “By incorporating the best zonal weighting technologies, we created the perfect combination of low CG and high MOI to give golfers the best in distance, forgiveness and precision. That, combined with the use of COBRA CONNECT Powered by Arccos, make for some of the most exciting clubs we’ve ever created.”
TheTech Story
The KING F7 driver features a larger face and address profile that increases MOI and provides more distance, forgiveness and speed across the face. An adjustable weight system with three CG settings in the front, the back and heel positions allows for three differing ball flights – low, high and draw, to provide golfers with optimum distance and trajectory for a variety of conditions. The heavier 12g weight in the front CG position creates a lower, penetrating ball flight with less spin and more roll for maximum distance. When the heavier weight is placed in the back position, it delivers a higher, towering ball flight with added spin for more carry distance and increased forgiveness. When moved to the heel CG position, it works to reduce spin to deliver straighter drives that correct a slice.
The KING F7 driver also features a re-engineered Forged Ti-811 E9 Face that is lighter, thinner and hotter, creating faster ball speeds and a larger Sweet ZoneTM across the face. A multi-material TeXtreme Carbon Fiber Crown frees up discretionary weight, allowing COBRA engineers to create three distinct CG positions and three performance distances. MyFly8 with SmartPad technology affords golfers the choice of eight loft settings to fine tune launch conditions and maximize distance while keeping the club head square at address.
The F7+ Driver utilizes the same key technologies as the F7 driver, but fit into a more traditional size and shape club head, and available in lower lofts and featuring a new premium matte finish on the crown.
Rounding out the new 2017 drivers equipped with Cobra Connect, is the KING LTD Driver. Available for purchase earlier this year, the KING LTD will now be available in a matte black colorway, with a white paint TeXtreme interior, aptly named KING LTD Black.

The Bio Cell was the last Cobra driver I hit that I really enjoyed. Updating the E9 face to be lighter, thinner & hotter can only expand on the forgiveness previous Cobra drivers offered. I’ll be on the lookout to hit these and compare to my current driver.
I just put the F6+ in the bag so I am excited to see what improvements the F7 has. I love the Cobra Connect feature in the grip.
I play the Cobra LTD and really want the black version.
These are some fantastic drivers, having the opportunity to hit them at #THPAmbition the sound improvment is great. The ball just goes when struck well.
Cobra Connect is interesting, but sounds similar to my regular Arccos unit. I wonder why they went away from slide weight to change weight? I play the Fly-Z so would be interested in trying this one.
With full review coming soon, I am curious if you guys can record the sound.
The F6+ made me look at Cobra for the first time in years, so the F7 looks like an interesting evolution.
Really interesting that they built the Arccos right in, but I wonder about how it will effect re-gripping when the time comes. I like that look of the crown a lot.
Just_Hacking,
They are going to make grips available at purchase.
This offering from Cobra has really caught my attention. Cant wait to hit these soon
As a tech head these sound really interesting! Looking forward to the full review!! Nice write up Josh!!
I like the idea of Cobra connect. Instant feedback on every drive. You can reply fine tune that tee game. Nice add by Cobra!
This driver looks like a piece of the Death Star that Cobra managed to attain. It’s sleek in a foreboding kind of way. I’m thinking this just smashes balls.
Cobra has come a long way in the golf industry. All of their offerings are full of technology which only benefits every day players like me. I definitely like what I am seeing lately and hope to have a chance to play them.
