just curious does anyone remember what most teams were spending before the lockout?

I know the Leafs and Red Wings were in high 60's, though they were near the top of the list. Think the average was high 40's, low 50's.

Yeah, if I remember correctly, the cap is more about spreading the pay as opposed to players having 10 mill+ per year contracts. The big thing is having the floor included, it makes the spending more even across the league.

Wow, those averages are lower than I expected.

No wonder they added in the ceiling and floor.

thats kinda close to what i remember. i never really had an issue with not having a cap but Philly would always spend a TON of money to get players so my opinion was very biased at the time. be interesting to see what happens with the CBA.

Going to be a heck of a ride for NJ to get back into this series..

Looking like it's going to take 4 straight wins with LA up 4-0 tonight.

I feel so sorry for Dev right now.

Can't say I'm happy to see the Avs on their three times, but those were three great players!!!

I have not heard much about Marty but does anyone know if he is playing next year? Or is that not been said yet until after the series? I was just wondering as Thomas took the year off, Tomas Vok's in Pitts the market is getting very tight for goalies

He said regardless of the outcome of the finals he wants to come back for another year. He is UFA so he will probably have to take a decrease in pay. He has been our best player in the series so far at the age of 40. Go figure.

No sweep!!! YESS!! Thats 1.

tonights game was really fun to watch. glad Jersey is trying to make it a series.

Glad the Devils got one.

Penalty on Clarkson that lead to LA goal might be the worst penalty call in the history of the SCF. A nudge with 10 minutes left in an elimination game. Brutal.

Alright, alright. You got the W, not no nitpicking. Lol.

It was a good close game again last night, but with LA's record on the road, I'm thinking it ends in NJ!!!

I don't know about worst call Ricky... It wasn't a great call, but it was a pointless hit that got the numbers.

Either way, a win is a win. I'll be rooting for the home team for the rest of the series. Gotta watch the cup get raised at home.

im sure its gonna be a tough home win for Jersey with LAs away record and you know they don't want to let Jersey get any steam moving forward. ill def be watching for sure. this has been a great series!
