Well everybody, we are at a deadlock. We have incredible events planned throughout the 2014 calendar year and one of them is the THP Bridgestone Championship that will take place in or near September. We have 2 places in mind and both have been planned incredibly well. Both packages will cost about the same amount for each participant, but we simply cannot decide. Here is a look at the 2014 events that have been announced.

2014 Ultimate Club Testing - TaylorMade Golf (Jan)
2014 #TheKingIsComing (April)
2014 Love Is In The Air (May)
2014 Putting Extravaganza W/ SeeMore Putters (June)
2014 Morgan Cup - The Ultimate Golf Event...Period! (July)
2014 THP Invitational Series Hilton Head
2014 THP Invitational Series Indianapolis
2014 THP Invitational Series Lake Charles
2014 THP Invitational Series TBA
2014 THP Bridgestone Championship
2014 New Event Coming - Innovation, Education & More
2014 New Event Coming - #OwnIt
2014 The #Grandaddy (December)

Here is what we can tell you. Both are planned at top notch golf courses. Both are stay and play with hotels/accommodations. What we cannot tell you is which resorts and courses they are planned at as of now.

So we want to hear from you. Which area would you prefer the event being hosted in?
Why would you like it put in that area?
What are your favorite things about that area?
And anything else you would like to add.

Let's do 'em both!

My vote is for Scottsdale.

I like experiencing new places and THP has allowed me the opportunity to do that at a very reasonable cost. Vegas was fun but not being a big gambler, it was sensory overload. I've been torn on if I would try to go again if it was Vegas. I enjoy hanging out with THP'ers - and personally don't need the nonstop glitz and glamour to achieve that. I also understand that travel into Vegas is likely cheaper.

Never been to Scottsdale but have randomly heard good things.

Not an easy decision for THP HQ, but I'm certain you'll make the best decision for the masses.

Really don't have a preference (esp since I don't travel) but looking forward to the details!

I think Scottsdale would be a great venue!

That being said, I think flights to LV are usually cheaper from just about everywhere.

I think the Vegas championship was absolutely over the top. And that could become kind of a "traditional" event for the championship. TPC Las Vegas loved us, asked if we would be coming back. I just think it was so well done that people would go back year after year.
Scottsdale no doubt has some top notch golf! And would love to go there someday for a few rounds. But would prefer the glitz, and glamour of a Vegas Championship!

MHO.

after seeing the places you have chosen for previous events, I have full confidence where ever you choose will be amazing

My vote is for Vegas. Easier to fly into, and more extracurricular activities available.

For those looking at flight prices, have you checked any of the flights to Phoenix? In my early studying it was pretty affordable. In fact for us, it was almost the same price as Vegas. Obviously YMMV.

I'm not a Vegas fan really, give me Scottsdale.

Interesting - I just assumed LV is cheaper. PHX is $350ish for Sep '14 from JAX and LV is $430ish.

This is very similar to what we found. But surprisingly $100 cheaper from this area. Although prices will go down I believe on both accounts.

That's a close call. Although Vegas is one of my favorite cities, my vote is for Scottsdale. It's a little more low key, but definitely has a lot of great restaurants and other non golf activities for those who plan on traveling with their significant others, etc. I think it'd be a great place for a THP get together. My favorite thing about Scottsdale are the lodging and restaurants. There's a lot of places you can sit outside with open air fire pits and watch the desert with a drink in your hand, and the quality of restaurants is very good. It's tough not picking Vegas, as there's so much to do and I've wanted to golf there for years, but Scottsdale provides more of a relaxing setting that I think would cap off the 2014 THP season nicely.

Scottsdale. Might be fun. THP was in Vegas last year.

It all depends when the event is and how high of a demand on flights from the airport you are flying too. My guess vegas would be more expensive then Scottsdale.

I love Scottsdale and golf there. And I have to admit with my family there my answer is biased. But I have to say Scottsdale. The resorts at that time of year are pretty awesome.

I just took a quick look at flights. Using traditional carriers, it was about $100 cheaper to get to Vegas. Using Southwest, it was about $100 cheaper to get to Phoenix.

Phoenix to Scottsdale is only 12 miles. Would also guess that local convenience is greater with Scottsdale when you consider distance of lodging to courses. Had to allow quite a bit of extra time in Vegas but it was manageable.

I've been to both and they offer great golf. I'd truly be good with either. Scottsdale might be cheaper for me overall as I wouldn't have to figure in a gambling budget, and though there are a couple of Indian casinos in town I likely wouldn't visit them.

Am I wrong to think that Scottsdale could still be really hot in September?

I could do either but if nightlife factors in there is no comparison.

With the loop now from the airport Scottsdale is super easy to get to.

I think I would prefer Scottsdale as I agree quite a bit with pound cookie's response. Scottsdale seems to be less crowded yet has plenty of nightlife and great restaurants. It is also a nicer place to hang out with friends than the smokey casinos IMO. It sounds like you guys have the resorts picked out but if it was Vegas I would prefer to be on the strip.

Average high in September is 100* and it drops in average by 10* each month after that (90* in October, etc). November would be great in Scottsdale from what I can see.

I'm up for either but being as how Scottsdale is about 20 miles from my house, I'll vote Scottsdale.

Warmer than Vegas yes it appears.
In our research it looked like mid 80s of a high.
