By no means a professional, but I love photography and capturing those special moments of my kids. I currently shoot with a canon 5dMII and 24-70L. Also have a 70-200 II 2.8L which I love.

Nice gear. I am a pro photographer and was Canon for a few years. MKII thru MKIII. Your gear will make pro images. Lots of free tutorials out there in internet land.

Sometimes when I am on a or shooting a wedding a guest will come up to me and say, I have this or that or the same thing you have. Nikon D4s bodies and Nikon pro lens. And I tell them about the time I played golf with Tiger Woods. I took a lesson with Sean Foley, bought the same clubs, balls and TW clothes he wears. When we played, I even ignored the gallery except for the times when my errant drives hoot people.

Guess what? Tiger beat me by 25 strokes!!!!

Photography

Great photos guys, that airplane shot with the top gun moment is just sick.

Sure, decent equipment helps, and you need to know you gear, and how to use them, in photography as well as in golf...but it's always good to remember this anecdote:

"A photographer went to a socialite party in New York. As he entered the front door, the host said ‘I love your pictures - they’re wonderful; you must have a fantastic camera.’
He said nothing until dinner was finished, then: ‘That was a wonderful dinner; you must have a terrific stove."

A few from this weekend. Had to micro adjust for my 70-200 seemed a bit soft or just missing focus by a tad bit...it may have helped.

What's a good "fancy" camera to get my fiancé for Mothers Day from our 9 month old??

Doesnt have to be a DSLR type, but prefer something a bit nicer than just a standard digital camera. Don't want to break the bank as I don't even know if she will use it all of the time. She has been wanting a better camera for pics, so I'd prefer something small and compact so that she can lug it on the go everywhere.

I am just getting into it, picked up a Sony RX100M3. Great point and shoot. Looking at the Panasonic FZ1000 next.

Not into the whole DLSR, not liking to haul around 15 pounds of glass when out and about

I dabbled a little in landscape photography, but funnily enough abandoned the hobby for golf!

I enjoy photography as a hobby. Recently sold my Nikon N75 35mm camera as I no longer have access to develop myself and my Canon Rebel xsi as I like the functionality of my Nikon D60 a bit better. Not too mention the lenses are much better than my Canon had.

Shucks, thanks guys.

I think I need psychological care. I gave up a hobby I was comfortable with for one which fills me with dread every time I go out to partake in it. We are a mad bunch, aren't we! Don't let anyone ever say that golf doesn't take over your life!!

Was able to get to Eastern State Penitentiary a couple days ago and got some interesting shots.

Creepy old abandoned places are awesome, great shots Nate. We have a ton of abandoned places up near me, I just wish I had the talent to capture them as you have.

Some fantastic shots Nate, you captured the creepyness perfectly. I think they filmed an episode of Haunted there.

New camera time.

Alright, so talk to me about the rig and the low light setup you're working on.

I really really want to build a photo box.

Made the switch from Nikon to Canon because I just fell in love with the 70D. FWIW, I did so almost strictly because it shoots better video than just about every other DSLR out there right now. It still shoots solid stills too. But the video separated it from the D7100 from Nikon, which is also awesome, however if I was going that route, I would have just gone to a D7000 from a few years back because its awesome in low light too.

Great pics Jersey Nate!

See, I've contemplated moving to the D7000 recently, but I love taking photos, the video isn't a biggie to me, but having looked around I can def see why you went with the Canon. I've got so many lenses it would be hard to go away from Nikon.
