2015 THP Events--Where and Why? Lets Discuss

After this weekend I am thinking IOWA would be a great reunion spot. We got a lot of good guys together for an impromptu outing in the middle of nowhere. Des Moines would be a great place to bring an event back too. The Harvester or TCI would be more than able to host I think.
After seeing the pictures and all the fun that was had I agree. Man inwish i could have been there.
DSM does sound like a great place for a 2015 outing.

Can we make sure there are Dave and Busters around wherever we go? Haha seriously the most fun I have had in years.
That really was a blast. Even losing to Icey at Nascar....TWICE.

Honestly....."if you build it they will come". It was evident this weekend. We had 14 states covered and Montreal. No one event will please everyone, but I know everyone can find an event that pleases them. Stay and plays make it nicer for pre and post golf socializing, where as this weekend we were a little spread out. But it's doable either way.
I read your post in the other thread and couldn't believe how awesome that was. I think this year's Invitational Series being more of "stay and play" type events increased the bonding that happens at these events tenfold.

I've been out the past 7 days at a camp with unruly kids and no internet connection. I'd love to see a stop on the RTJ Trail. It's right in the middle of ATL, Nashville, Memphis and the whole Gulf Coast. The courses are top notch and host multiple professional events each years and they're a great value.

Thanks to everyone that took the time to chime in here, hoping to still get some more thoughts from those that have not

2015 will be here before you know it

2015 is going to be awesome! That's for d@mned sure

It really is. We have charts and graphs going right now and the awesome suggestions are really helpful.

I know six4three5 and maddog have put a plug in here for Western NY. I think Seneca Hickory Stick in Lewsiton, NY would be a great venue. It has got some high praise since it opened. It is right near Niagara Falls so it is easy to get to and lots of things to do.

I like that Mike is looking for help, but we all know that 2015 will be the year of OhioTopia if he gets his way.

On a serious note, Southern Pines, NC is loaded with great courses not named "Pinehurst #X" and that would be a good place to go in my book.

I love analytics...and I live golf. This makes me even more excited! I like to seem some stuff in southern Wisconsin around the lake Geneva area. Maybe even Erin Hills or whistling straits in kholer. Has anyone mention the quad cities area in Hawks neck of the woods? Maybe the THP Green Tractor Open?

We've got several of those here.

You know, a THP invitational at true blue or caledonia would be cool for those who didn't make the Morgan Cup.

Any thoughts on this?

very nice area, and a DAVE & BUSTERS near by!!!!!!!!. casino, and the falls area have lots to enjoy

There are so many good suggestions in this thread, I really have nothing to add. I only hope I can get in and attend as many as I possibly can.

We have held an Invitational there. 2 years ago I believe it was and won by TheChosen1 and v.man.
I cant say we wont do it again there, ya never know.
As for the Morgan Cup, there has not been an announcement about that coming back either.
THP is ever evolving.

Potential BIG TIME bummer!
Love everything about the event and all it stands for.

I DO understand it is a ton of work.
I know it probably has immense hassle.

It's just so cool to get that experience. To have that feeling for a weekend would be indescribable.

I haven't read the entire thread so I apologize if this has already been brought up, but has there been any thought given to having some "Open" type events where anyone who wants in can get in? I realize there may need to be some cap given there are only so many tee times in a day, but with a morning wave and afternoon wave you accomodate 288 players if we can find a course willing. Understandably you wouldn't be able to do as much for the players as you can with a 40 person event, but perhaps you could use these as qualifiers or, at the very least, to give more of us a chance to meet the THP staff and just join in the community. I look forward to trying to get to some events when I get back stateside next year regardless, but having a few of these events that I know I can plan around would be a nice bonus!

We never just cancel, and always improve.

In years past, we have done open events to a certain degree with our annual outing, etc. Unfortunately for us, it does become an issue on certain fronts, however instead we have increased the number of events each year. And Increased the number of locations each year.

We believe we have a good mix going on now with events that hold 40 and are single day events where most that want to get in can. And those grand events that are incredibly special that last a full weekend and come with some unique plans.

There were several invitationals this year. All you had to do was sign up before it was full.

Thanks, JB! Obviously, I haven't been around very long so I haven't gotten a chance to observe most of that. I look forward to finding an event or two next year!

How fast do those usually fill up? I just joined last month so I apologize if access to the events isn't really an issue. It seemed like it would be with only 40 spots and so many golf nuts running around. If not, so much the better!

Looking forward to meeting you buddy.

Depends on the event, the location, and the weekend. Sometimes they fill up in a day. Sometimes they don't. Stay active and the announcements are not hard to miss

Someplace on a mountain course would be fun too, maybe the hills in Georgia or something like that.
