Welp, I LEARNED on a mashup of clubs from my Dad and Grandfather. Driving range for a year before I was allowed on the course (Dad's rule). Some OLD clubs and even some hickory shafted cleeks, mashies and niblicks.

First "Real" set was Northwestern "Chi Chi Rodriguez" model blades with a 1,3,5 wd and bullseye type putter included. I played those for 14 years or so. Then in 1986, I was heading to California and was going to try and play Pebble Beach. Went to Penney's and bought a set of Wilson something or others to have a nice set out there. 7 iron broke that afternoon while playing. Took them back and paid a few bucks extra for the "upgraded" set of Wilson something or others. Played okay for a couple of years. Then I won a set of Hogan Edges the year they were released (1988?). Loved those. Played them for almost 10 years. They were stolen. Had to economize so I found another economically responsible set of clubs from Sports Authority. Dunlops or something. Then I was in Florida in 2003 or so, playing with my Dad and happened to look in his bag... HOGAN EDGES! The GS model. He picked them up at an estate sale for 50 bucks. He was already cutting back and wasn't playing very much, so we made a deal. I gave him the $50 bucks and the Dunlops and I got the Edges. Just needed new grips and I was good for the next decade. Then I just decided it was time for a change and went with Gigagolf's TRX v.11 about a year and a half ago. Having them custom fitted at 1* upright and 1/4 longer, I really like them. Although I sometimes wonder if The Edges might make a comeback once in awhile. That will likely be it for quite while
