Our girl is in the hospital again! She has eaten something that is blocking her bowel and causing her to throw up violently. The last time was a major surgery to remove some wire that she got from Lord knows where! XRays show nothing, so we are hopeful that surgery is not required. She's being held tonight for observation. :fingers-crossed:

Hey JM, hope everything is OK with her, she is a cutie. Scary some of the stuff they eat and why sometimes.

Good luck JM, hope she gets better

HOpe everything is okay with your pup.

Hope your little pup doesn't need surgery again, JM. Poor little girl.

It has been one heck of a day. Finalized the adoption and brought her home. Settled on the name Luna since she doesn't respond well to her name anyways. Beau is a little anxious around her, especially after he caught a snap from her protecting her food. Any hints/tips on a similar situation would be greatly appreciated. Until then... Look at this face.

She's a beauty Tyler. If the food situation gets to be a problem, try crate feeding. Otherwise, let them establish dominance. It's a natural occurrence.

We have feeding at the same time in different rooms...seems to work well for us. Luna is a beauty. Hope u have many good years with her!

Any news Johnny?

Tyler: does she protect the food with you guys as well or just other pups?

I saw in another thread your Chi Chi was headed in for x-rays on his/her leg, but didn't see any update. How's it going?

That was Monday....issues with x-ray machine. So headed back in tomorrow morning, both docs will be there so I can get there opinion and also an option to send x-rays to a pet radiologist specialist for another opinion. The doc on Monday was a bit taken aback like "woah, that should really be hurting him".

Definitely broken and didn't heal properly. Not many options likely: break again, set and let it heal / amputate / leave as is if minimal pain

No idea how this will shake out.....thanks for asking!

Hope the pup is better mojo.

I hope everything is ok JM!!

Tyler - Ellie would snap at Duke when we first got him, I just stood in between them during their feeding times and after about a week they ate side by side with no issues. But I was only dealing with a 20lb and 28lb dog so I could easily get between them without any fear of getting hurt.

Ha…I'm out of town and literally have no clue what day it is. :)

Good luck tomorrow. You're a good man Charlie Brown.

Nothing yet. Vet will be calling my daughter mid morning. The good news is we didn't get a middle of the night call. Still keeping our fingers crossed. Julia is torn up about it

Will definitely update as soon as we know anything. Thanks for the well wishes everyone.

JM

So here is where we are:

Good news is that she has not thrown up since yesterday afternoon!

Bad news is that she still has not eaten and has not had a bowel movement.

Doc thinks that she may have a viral thing going on OR that there actually IS some type of blockage that X-rays are not picking up.

He is going to keep her until she eats and makes poopy, so we are still in a holding pattern for now.

Thinking about you, buddy.

Hoping for the best buddy. Hate when animals are sick. They are so helpless and can't tell you what's wrong.

Lol she's something else

Awesome! That's a great new edition Morgan.

Happy for you guys.

What a great looking pup! Congrats guys! He really does look like Ellie and Duke all rolled up. Awesome!

Awesome news GG & JB!

He is quite the snorer haha. They said he had a mild case of kennel cough and finished the meds, but we can still hear some wheezing so we will be sure to get that addressed at his vet appointment Monday morning.
