I don't see any way that Rory and Tiger don't face off in singles. Sure I know the way they do lineups but I just think this has to happen. I'll be back on the TW sack swinging party for at least 1 round. I mean it is the Ryder frickin Cup after all.

You think so? IDK, I don't think either one of them would duck the other. I know Rory would love the chance. He's young and cocky. I sure am starting to like that kid. I'll hate him like a mo fo at the Ryder Cup though. That and the over/under on the number of tweets I send challenging Ian Poulter (assuming he makes it) to a fight is at 900. I HATE him at the Ryder Cup. That intense stare after he makes any putt....hate it!

Rory wouldn't duck Tiger, and Tiger wouldn't duck Rory. But they won't play one another because of the STUPID blind draw that the Ryder Cup does with every single match. It's one thing that the President's Cup has right and the Ryder Cup has wrong. In the Ryder Cup, both captains make up a list of their order of play and submit it independent of one another. In the President's Cup, one captain names a pairing (for team matches) or a single player (for singles, obviously), and then the other captain names the opponent, and the first pick alternates between teams. It is more dramatic in the President's Cup. As you can tell, I feel pretty strongly about this.
 
I agree with you on that one Ary. I love that about the Pres cups. That's the only thing I like better about President's Cup though. Ryder Cup is just better....simple as that.
 
I like the blind draw. More dramatic when you see what seems like out of whack pairings. The other they might as well just show Tiger and Rory like every stinking weekend.

I like both cups just fine but in my opinion there is simply nothing better than the Ryder Cup in all of sports. To this day watching the 1999 Ryder Cup on Sunday is the most amazing sporting event I've ever seen. There's so much passion there. I love it!
 
I can see both sides. in the blind draw both captains are trying to guess who the other guy might put where and balance that with who they want to play who and who they think would do well in a certain spot in the order.

President's cup draw one guy sets his lineup based on who he wants where, who he might think the other guy would match up against his guys depending on where in the order they fall.

Ultimately you gotta play golf
 
Wow. Jose Maria was pretty fiery when asked about Harrington just now. Said the 2003 Seve Cup rumor is "BS, and that is putting it as nicely as possible". Also said Harrington "is an experienced player, but he hasn't been able to deliver recently", when asked about Padraig's experience.

I will be interested to see what Harrington has to say after that.
 
I wouldn't be one bit surprised to see Paddy go out and lay and egg the rest of this tournament now. With all this crap going on as well. I hope he plays great and gets picked. I like his interviews.

Hes not getting picked, I think. Which is too bad because Paddy has gotta be one of the classiest and most likeable guys on tour.

If Kaymer stinks it up, Coelsarts plays well, and Paddy plays well in The Barclays, I don't know how you don't pick Harrington. Kaymer has been awful this year. Harrington hasn't won, but at least he has competed, on some pretty tough tracks at that (Olympic and Augusta).
 
Furyk did not do himself any favors this week. Going to be a MC at the Barclays. I still think he makes the team. Hunter Mahan can kiss his sorry butt chances goodbye though I bet.

I can't see that. I think the role of the captain is over stated, but even so, Faldo was by far the worst captain we've ever had. The captaincy was all about him. I still. Tinge when I think of his opening speech. Unlike Faldo, Olly gets the Ryder cup. I think he'll be a good captain, but at the end of the day, it's the players that play the shots (except when Seve was captain LOL).
