Call of Duty: Black Ops III

I absolutely love this game. I have put in a ton of time with this game and it is one of my favorite COD games to date. I love Treyarch, they just get it.

Taking advantage of that last gasp of 2xp right now. I agree, Treyarch is the best of the developers of the games and this is my favorite game since MW2.

Big fan of the Kuda, KN-44, ICR-1, and the Vesper.
I use the Kuda and Vesper for shorter range/run and gun maps. Use the KN-44 and ICR-1 for larger maps and longer range kills. The ICR-1 with a Recon sight is so nasty.
The Weevel is decent, but doesn't have enough damage even with its high capacity mag. Plus the recoil gets annoying.

I use the Kuda and VMP interchangeably. HVK-30 for longer range maps. Always stock a nade or 2 for the campers.

They really are.. IW is going to really have to step up to bring something this good next year. Just providing tons of fun that AW didn't even touch...

I love it to. My only complaint is the matchmaking needs some tweeking. AW was good about matching equal level players as a general rule.
I am not a great player and when our party gets matched against ninja's all night it is rough. Hopefully that gets better.
I am getting a better feel for the game play though.

Matchmaking is different in this game... It isn't skill based, it is location based depending on host. It tries to prevent you from getting teamed against people from the EU or Asia so you don't have to deal with as much of a host advantage. IF you live in New York and are playing against a host in California, you are at a terrible disadvantage.

I don't think they will change that because more people tend to be worried about connection than skill based matchmaking. In AW, it was all skill based matchmaking, so if you were a party of 3-4 that weren't that great, you would more than likely be paired with similar skill levels, whereas now, if you are the Party leader Shane, they will attempt to pair you up with people living close to the Midwest.

So what's the deal with Nuketown? I can't find a concrete answer online. My game came with a free download of Nuketown but I've never seen it. Is it hidden somewhere or just campaign or what?

It is located in Chaos Moshpit. You won't get it in Standard playlists.

Go to Bonus --> Chaos Moshpit

That's dumb. Why would they do that?

Do what? If people want to play Nuketown there is a playlist for it. I would venture close to half of the players don't have Nuketown or have it installed, so if you try to play a regular playlist it will limit the playerbase with people only having Nuketown... Getting lobbies is harder, etc.

If you want to play Nuketown play in that playlist. It isn't only Nuketown. There are like 4-5 maps in rotation various gamemodes, it is a lot of fun if you like chaotic madness. Played it a lot to level up this weekend.

I'm a huge fan of straight up death match. The other games have never been that fun to me. I'd like to see Nuketown in the team death match rotation at some point

From what I understand, that isn't the plan. Like I said, from a matchmaking perspective it makes a ton of sense to keep it separate, just like the DLC Playlists that Advanced Warfare did. If you want to play Nuketown TDM you will have to just vote for it in Chaos Moshpit.

Thank you Taylor, that makes sense.
I do wish they could adjust the lag comp somewhat, these guys that make a party then lag it on purpose does take come fun out of the game.

Again, I am very very very happy with the game though

Yep, I know lag compensation is something they are trying to fix. They know it is broken, but unfortunately I don't think it is something super easy to fix. I just really love how balanced the game is. I find myself easily alternating between like 5-6 guns, which I never ever did in AW

You probably have everything unlocked but I'm finding myself using the pharo for run and gun and the Man o War or ICR for long range stuff.

My favorite thing is all about the gun for me. The attachments give advantages so using spots on attachments is worth it. The perks aren't that impressive to me. I like ghost and dead silence on the other games so I'm waiting for them on this game. Some perks don't do enough to warrant a spot IMO. I like that though

You have the VMP unlocked, yes? It is a very good short-mid range weapon. It is probably one of the 3 or so preferred weapons for the Professional players.

Once you unlock the M8 that is a solid option, but don't sleep on the LMGs either. They are really good in this game. The dingo is probably one of my top 2-3 most used guns lately.

As for the perks, I will disagree. Sixth Sense is a very good perk, especially if you like to run and gun. Hard Wired is also pretty useful since it seems trip mines and shock charges are becoming the norm for a lot of people.

I do have a couple of classes where I have 3, and even 4 attachments on my guns. I rarely run a sight, so adding 2 extra attachments takes up a total of 4 points in the Pick 10 due to wildcards being needed.

I just got the dredge and have loved that. I need faster reload with it though. Those 60 rounds go out in a hurry

I used the VMP for quite a while and never loved it. It wasn't bad but I've found the pharo to be a better option for me.

I do like sixth sense and hard wired. I use those on every class so far. I'm just waiting for ghost. I love being immune to UAVs personally. People depend on the mini map so much that taking that advantage away is big for me.

Hard wired is a great perk as well since it encompasses so much.

I've found most of the 3rd perks to be pointless for me but that may change as the game goes on

Tac mask is awesome for domination, but if you only play TDM I would sort of agree perk 3 isn't going to be all that useful

I tend to agree here, but I just put blast suppressor there to keep off the radar.

Oh I forgot about Blast Suppressor. Definitely useful especially if you can tell the other team is honing in on blips on the radar.

I've committed quite a bit of my free time to BlOps3 during my bout with the airline bird flu or whatever the heck I had.. Good timing I suppose, with 2XP and a quite cold spell here in Ohio.

Managed to diamond the ARs and can confidently say the M8A7 with ELO, grip, and rapid fire is wildly superior to any other AR, with the ICR as a distant second, and the XR-2 as a distant second on Hardcore. My disappointment for the accuracy of the Sheiva is pretty immense considering how much I adored the SVT and Gewehr on World at War. Either way, I was able to adapt and now that I'm not leveling ARs, the M8 is my primary choice, especially on core.

To the subs, I think there's a distinct advantage of the pharo if you have a decent shot. Two quick bursts all but guarantee a kill on core, and limiting a sub to a burst shot improves accuracy in a bit way when playing hardcore. A close second is the VMP, which melts in most situations, and then a distant third is the weevil, although if you're breathing down the neck of the opponent all game, the vesper is pretty wild. I've spent zero time with the razorback and if given the option, would never even use the name "kuda" in a sentence again.

Don't overlook the LMGs (especially in Zambies). Ranked in order of butt kicking it'd probably be BMR, Dingo, a decent gap, and then Gorgon and Dredge. Get a stock and the quickdraw attachments and just wreck house. Also don't overlook equipping a rocket launcher. You get serious points for shooting things down, and they are ridiculously easy to take out. Help yourself and the team.

I still have some issues with the spawning logic, and I think they'll sort it out. I still have some issues with games where I feel at a distinct reaction disadvantage, especially when i see the kill cam, but I think it's improved quite a bit from day one. I still hate maps like metro and probably evac for how circular the map can be, but I suppose it's all about working together as a team.

I'll talk about zambies in a bit -- But I love that gamemode. It's so much fun. Wish they brought back every single map ever made for better variety.

What are your favorite specialists so far?

For Hardcore:
Vision Pulse
Kinetic Armor

For Core:
Scythe

If you are going for high kill streaks then combat focus is good too
