Call of Duty: Black Ops III

I agree it sucks that games have to be patched. It does, but what I am saying is what good does it do to sit here and just complain about how awful it is? Treyarch isn't reading this thread...

I think the game has a lot of promise. I think the closed beta was a step in the right direction to help provide better day 1 releases. Maybe I am naive but I think that David Vondehaar and his team do a terrific job of responding to issues as they pop up. Lag compensation wasn't near this bad on the beta so I am unsure what happened, but they tested the servers they took feedback and implemented it before release and that's a win in my book.

Let's hope they get this other stuff sorted soon

Venting? It's called unbiased feedback, Taylor. It's the THP way!

"Promise" in a video game is such a pathetic concept (not meant to offend you, just the idea of it). There was a time when games would flop like crazy if they arrived this broken. It flat out shouldn't happen, but it has been happening at a rising rate every year.

Sixty bucks is a lot of money to pay for a game that only kind of mostly works.

I also think that what causes the most frustration is that there are times when the game works fine and you realize how good it really is, and then the game's problems present itself and you're just left wanting the good. If that makes any sense.

There's an awful lot of truth in that. But there are also the games where you get host advantage and turn on people like a god showing just how much connection is a factor.

It's so disappointing, more than anything else. I've always been astonished by the people who play for money online, relying on getting host for a fair shake. It's a nearly impossible thing for these companies to balance because of how bad so many people's internets are, but I am absolutely certain it makes or breaks titles.... and it's currently breaking BlOps3.

Like I said maybe I am naive but I'm enjoying the game a lot and think if a couple of things are addressed it has the potential to be one of my favorites. People aren't running around with 1 gun a la AW. It is refreshing to see a team using 6 different guns instead of 6 bals.

The maps are fun, the specialists add a cool element. It does have a couple of big issues, but I imagine they will be addressed soon.

How do they keep getting it wrong with the crazy spawn flips and host advantage release after release?

I appreciate your optimism. The maps are alright, but the wall jumping makes them a bit too circular. Always someone trying to spin spawn or get behind people which I think takes away from what I enjoy about shooters, and that's direct gun v gun battles. Same issues I had with the original Black Ops, actually.

With specialists, I am actually disappointed again. I think there's a place for them, but not in CoD. I have played quite a bit of Destiny online, and that's basically what I am seeing a repeat of here. Golden gun, shadowshot, fist of havoc, radiance.... It's basically a copy of ideas in a 'futuristic' shooter. I just don't see a place for it -- They may as well have mana tablets that build up and let you cast a spell of withering on the other team -- Not really relevant to CoD.

I will say there's a decent amount of gun variation, but it's not that great. When they patch the two hit kill heavy machine gun snipers, I'll get closer to siding with you.

This is my biggest issue as well. Nowadays with everything online they know they can "fix" things later via patch so they push out some unfinished piece of crap just to meet a deadline. They had two years to develop this and for 60$ it's really disappointing.

I just know based on what I have seen in my own games and watching the guys play competitively, there are tons of guns that are usable, and that to me is awesome.

As far as the specialist thing, agree to disagree. No issue with your opinion on the subject.

The map thing and spawn flip is tough, because they cannot control how people rush into other spawns. If everyone played the game the same way as you and I they wouldn't have issues, but the people who sprint around with an SMG/Shotty and get to the other teams base and spam kill them it causes the spawns to flip and inevitably people end up behind you.

At the end of the day I cannot force anyone to like/play the game, but I think the game is solid, and has a lot of promise if they can figure out the lag compensation. It came to us with some issues, but at least it wasn't Battlefield.

I find it funny you didn't like it in Destiny and say it adds variation to CoD.

The design of a map dictates how players can manipulate it. The circular design is 100% the reason why players can so effectively Run and gun like idiots for their 1:1 K/D.

hahahaha that is a pretty sad conclusion.

What is this about destiny? When did I ever say that I didn't like destiny because of specialists? That had nothing to do with it. I didn't like grinding all day on the same planets for materials to get new guns. I didn't like playing the same missions over and over again, and the multiplayer was just eh for me.

I'll take the conversation about that to another place... but your efforts on destiny are comparable to me bailing on CoD after last night. #ScratchedTheSurface

Fair enough, I am down for some debate in the PS4 thread.

I <3 COD

Have played about 6 matches so far. Liking it so far. Lag issues are really frustrating and took me a few matches to get into a groove. Seems all the guns suck until you start putting some attachments on them.

Will probably get on some tonight

There is a TON of truth to that. Stick with something as it's hot garbage until you add a few attachments to it.

I'm glad your tapatalk signature got you to the required six characters.

That way you didn't need the extra ".." for oomph.
I think yawn was fitting. After reading pages of a few people saying the game sucks and others saying it's good, what else is there to add.
I could have said my name is the dead horse, so beat me :)

Sometimes when I want to feel bad about myself.. I watch Optic Scumpi play COD. He might be the best player in the game, and he honestly just makes everything look so easy. Plus he has red hair.

Oh yeah, I get the reasoning around the troll 'yawn' posts. I've never understood why people need to interject their indifference, but to each their own.

I'll insert a "rabble bubble knuckle puckle" in retort of your 'yawn' and continue discussing CoD BlOps3 and the mediocre current game experience pending another ginormous update from Treyarch.

He has to be in heaven right now. Scump is a BlOps monster.

And Karma was a monster on BLOPS as well. They are going to be so dominant again. Scumpi may take the title for best on 2 CODs in a row as he was undisputed best player in AW.

It will most likely be Optic v Faze showdown again this year.

Well after the 800th time you said you don't like the game I felt like yawning.
If that's a troll post, so be it
