Famous People you've met?

I got pushed out of the way in a casino in Vegas so Michael Jackson could get through. Does that count? I can't believe I've never met anyone famous :loser:

I had the unfortunate 'pleasure' to have dinner with Martha Stewart at a conference, what a nasty person she was! Met Tip Oneill in the early 90's, drank scotch and smoked a cigar with him…great guy.

Ben Hogan when I played at Shady Oaks. Chella Choi when I played in the Sybase pro/am. Suzy Whaley at a tournament in Venice FL. Brittany Lincicomb a Tampa airport.

Ted Williams, Mickey Mantle at Boston Boat Show.

Don't have a lot on my list. Bill Walton sitting on a park bench with his cast on his foot right before joining the Clippers. Don Coryell, twice. Jerry West. Spoke with Frank Borman on the phone a couple of times, he was a customer (very humble man given what he accomplished in his life). Troy Aikman. Robert Goulet and Ann Margret.

Does Bigfoot count?

I really don't recall meeting anyone famous.
John Paddock & Ron Hextall is maybe the extent of it.

But I did meet JB, Hawk, and Howzat once. Caught a glimpse of Fupresti from afar.

Nick Faldo, Graeme McDowell, Lee Westwood, Darren Clark, Jose Maria Olazabal, Tom Watson, Peter Alliss, Natalie Gulbis, Mark Webber, Pierce Brosnan (the only one I've been star struck over), Michael Caine, Robbie Williams, Kylie Mynogue, Pammy Anderson, George Michael, and many many more.

Unfortunately, most of the famous people that I've met have been politicians, so I won't name them one by one, but I have had to opportunity through my military time to work with some of the greatest leaders the world has ever known and many of them are big names now.

Alan West: Worked on a huge project with him in the mid-90's when we were in XVIII Abn Corps Artillery together.
Went to a lot of planning meetings with General Odierno (The previous Army Chief of Staff) during the same project.
During that same period of time, I was able to meet General Honore, the guy who took over after everyone else screwed up the Hurricane Katrina response.

I met R. Lee Ermey and hung out with him a couple times, the 1st being in Iraq in 2003. Ballsy guy to come visit in the middle of the initial phases of the war.
Worked with Rich "Mack" Machowitz during the filming of the artillery episode of Future Weapons.
I met Scott Erickson on the golf course in Myrtle Beach and have since played rounds with him a few times when he's in town.
John Riggins was a hunting buddy of my football coach and used to help coach our running backs a few times a year.

I think that's about it, unfortunately while I deal with high profile people all the time, most people outside of the Army wouldn't know who they are.

I too have had the pleasure of hanging with Hank Aaron on the anniversary of his historic homerun. He was very quiet at first but we all started chatting. Then played golf the next day.

Matt Dillion came by the Biltmore for lessons while I was there. This during filming 'what about Mary'

Alonzo Morning and I have stayed friendly since my days of teaching him golf.

Ran into Joe Torre in Vegas over the weekend. Nice guy but in a hurry. Sat next to Bobby Bowden in Atlanta Airport.

Taught with TW in '97 at his first youth clinic. Have also interacted with him on numerous occasions. Played golf with Pat Sheehan and Rich Beem, still remain friendly with both. Caddie for and played with Palmer. Tom Lehman and I won the father/son proam.

Man, Bernhard Langer didn't make the cut?! He-He

I once sang Over the Rainbow with Martin Sheen and Janet Reno in the back of a church...

It was a show choir trip to Orlando in spring 2002. After mass about five us lingered in church. Sheen was campaigning for Reno as she was unsuccessfully running for governor of Florida. As Sheen and Reno were leaving the church, one of the choir moms said something to Sheen in Spanish and he turned around and saw the five of us. He asked what we were there for and we answered that we were a choir from St. Louis. He sensed a press moment, asked us what we sang and started belting Over the Rainbow while motioning for us to join. All the media's cameras immediately turned towards us. Fun times.

Golf related:
Phil Mickelson
Rickie Fowler
Roger Cleveland
Mike Dean

Non Golf:
Sandy Alomar Jr
Michael Jackson (NFL wide receiver in the 90s)
Zydrunas Ilgauskas
Kellen Winslow Jr

Lol didnt realize i would make so many lists

I forgot I met Rickie, Ian Poulter, Jonas Blix. Three guesses who the asshat was in that group. Annika and Stenson's kids are on my daughters gymnastic team. Chat with them a few times

I met Clarence Williams III in an upscale bar in Yorkville Toronto many years ago. He is most famisouly known as "Linc" from "The Mod Squad". The series ran from 1968 through 1973 for those too young to remember. He's a very pleasant person and we spoke for 20 to 30 minutes. He even bought me a beer. :)

I had the fortune to caddy at a country club in Milwaukee when I was a kid. Every year, the club would throw a celebrity/amateur tournament for Colon Cancer in Vince Lombardi's name. I caddied for 3 summers there and in that time, I've met Peter Marshall, Greg Morris, Evel Kneivel, all the old Green Bay Packers greats. Bart Starr, Jerry Kramer, Donny Anderson, Carroll Dale, Boyd Dowler, Travis Williams, Ray Nitschke, etc... Al Maguire, some of the old Milwaukee Bucks. (not Kareem Jabbar though)
The real highlight of my caddy days was getting to sling a bag for Commander Jim Lovell. Not long after he returned from the Apollo 13 mission I was a 13 y/o kid and in total awe of the guy. A very nice man and a good tipper.
I've shaken hands with GHW Bush when he was campaigning for POTUS in 1980.
Met George Will on a flight from DC to the west coast. He was sitting in the row in front of me with one of his staffers and I got to talk to him for a couple minutes.
And finally, I stood in line for the bathroom with Lilly Tomlin at a restaurant in Rock Hill, SC. She (apparently) has family there and was in town for a family reunion

I played golf once with VP Joe Biden in Bermuda. He was a Senator then. Really nice guy and hit the ball well. Just met Panthers Tight End Greg Olsen at an event recently. A class act.

Golf: Justin Rose, David Leadbetter, Ben Crenshaw

Non-Golf: Roger Clemens, Tom Arnold, Steve Owens, Demarco Murray, Blake Griffin, Chris Moneymaker, Barry Switzer, Jim McMahon

Most of these were just quick encounters and handshakes. However, I did meet Blake Griffin and Demarco Murray in a pickup basketball game at the OU rec center, and I played in a poker tournament with Moneymaker and Switzer in Oklahoma. Sat at the same table as Switzer for a few hands.

I don't have much, but I met a few now pro football players when I was going to school at Virginia Tech - Tyrod Taylor (twice actually, nice guy) and Ryan Williams briefly.

Also met Mike Teutel, Vinnie (can't remember last name), and Campo from Orange County Choppers once at a bike weekend in Carlisle, PA. Nice dudes except for Mike, who is a man child.

All I can think of right now.

I would think several of us that work or play on Maryland's eastern shore have met Harold Baines, a former Oriole. He lived and played in Talbot county. He was often seen at area courses, especially his home course, Talbot Country Club. There each year, he held a tournament to support his scholarship fund. It was a great event, where he was accessible to all the participants. Just to say he is a nice guy, would be an understatement (he also seems to be a bit introverted and quiet). Each year there was a silent auction for items signed by several professional athletes in several sports. There was also an after dinner action as well. One year, one item auctioned was from a DC news personality, where he would take a threesome to the RJT club and then dinner on a Saturday. Then Sunday they would play Avenel. My buds and I figured we would each put up $500 and bid $1,500. Unfortunately, the bidding started at $1,500 and eventually went for $3,500. We were out before it started. In subsequent years, we just bit on the silent items. Even then, I only got one item over the years--a Ray Lewis signed helmet for my Raven fan wife.

I was watching a basketball in one of those fan attic places in the mall. I looked next to me as a man stepped up to watch as well. It was Tony Dungy. Talked with him for about 10 min while watching the game. I am huge bucs fan so it was pretty special and I will remember it forever.

Mike Singletary's kiddo plays football at my kids school, does that count?

I watched the LA Lakers practice at my school in NYC a few times, a small gym so everyone got a good up close and personal view. That includes Elgin Baylor, Wilt, Jerry West and Pat Riley. I think it was '72. I sat next to John and Yoko at a restaurant counter in NYC, incredibly friendly guy. Ran into Bill Cosby buying cigars. Met Pat Riley again years later in a hotel bar NYC in the early 90's while he was coaching the Knicks, he apparently hated practice at our school gym. I worked for Tom Hicks (former Texas Rangers owner) a couple of times.

The most famous person I have personally met is Rick Allen. He is the one armed drummer for Def Leppard.
My wife bought me a VIP package for one of their concerts.
I got to meet him backstage before the concert with a few other people.
We jammed together in a drum circle for 30 minutes and had a great conversation.

Great Packers lineup - Donny Anderson's son worked for me for a number of years, I met Donny so many times I think I took it for granted - he has some incredible stories about his golf outings with Mickey Mantle.
