Learn from others' mistakes, it's a lot less painful!
Saguaro Hole 14 Purple tees 527 yds
This hole brings back those stupid desert areas in the middle of the fairway that we saw a lot of on the Cholla course. This is a split fairway with a very annoying desert between the fairways. The first thing is if your mindset is to aim down the middle because it never goes where you aim then it will end up in the desert, I know this strategy. lol. The left fairway is continuous and goes all the way to the green. The sneaky thing about this hole is that it actually plays up hill. From this angle it appears that you are hitting downhill but it is slightly uphill all the way to the green. The easier play is to go up the left but I always have it in my mind to go down the right. It seems like it takes distance off but I can not say if it does or doesn't. You have to get this tee shot in grass or your clubs may never forgive you. Your approach shot has to add the elevation in or you will come up short to an elevated green and have a tricky chip. You can miss the green left and you can miss the green short but do not miss long or right. The green is sloped back to front and has a pretty difficult shelf in the back if I remember correctly. I have seen some one open 2 sleeves of balls on this hole.

Selfish wish: the regular tee boxes on the par 3s aren't being redone so they'll be less than 200 yards...

I know I know, 233 yds on a par 3 is crazy long. It plays downhill and the green is huge so it is not as bad as the yardage would have you think. From the whites it is still over 200 yds and plays over 200 yds as it is not quite as downhill. Once you get over the distance and start to look at the shot it is not that bad. The bunkers short and left you can play to the right side of the green and never see those bunkers. The miss here is short and right as there is plenty of room there. Again this green is huge so if you are chipping/pitching on you need to go to the green and see where you want to land the ball and what the green is doing. The is a 3 putt green if you are careless. After this hole you have 2 attackable holes and 1 hard hole left.

I deleted tapatalk long ago. never actually used it. Yet it keeps popping back up. I can't wait for it to finally be purged.I’m going to deleted it from his phone personally if he hasn’t done so by April. It’s embarrassing.
Ugh, 200 plus yard par 3. Good thing I can hit my driver that far!

1 month away, friends! Excited to see you all again!
I’m so excited, I can barely sit down!
For those flying in. I can steal my wife's Telluride and pick up some folks on Friday and drive to a course then to Wekopa if needed. No need for a bunch of rental cars. I will drive you back to the airport on Sunday as well. I can pick up 3 people and luggage. Hopefully we can get people that fly in close together.
I do have 3 dibs right now on the ride, just confirming as we get closer.
