Meet Team Paradise

@tucsoncacti What is your favorite AZ golf course?
Ohhhh that's a tough one. I love the Verrado courses, and Sterling Grove is really growing on me. I also love Del Lago in Vail, AZ because that was my home course, and that place made me a better player off the tee because the course is so tight. I would probably say Verrado Founders course though.

Pai Gow hahahaha yes!
You have no idea! I have sat at a table for over 20 hours on one trip. Such a fun game, I have never won a lot of money on it, but I have not lost a lot of money either.

Bumping this up. @tucsoncacti

What is your drink of choice? So far we have Talisker 18, Gin, Bourbon, and PBR listed in the thread for Team Paradise. Where do you fall? If you say White claw there is time for a re-education camp before Vegas. :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Also for our readers......Funniest Emergency Room story you can share from the unit. Can't wait for Ernie's "clean" version of this question. lol

@tucsoncacti Will you teach me how to play Pai Gow in Vegas? What is it about the game that you like so much?

I can tell you that its the best game to play if you don't want to win or lose a ton of money. Its slow paced and tons of pushes/ties with the dealer. Every once in a while you catch a good hand.

Does it have the social aspect of Craps? That's probably my favorite, unless you share a table with a Don't Pass guy or gal, they might as well be a walking iron cover....

How long have you played one length?

For a drink I like Blue Moons, or a good bourbon like Woodford Reserve.

Good ER story. In Tucson got called to a trauma, girlfriend had driven the guy in after getting shot in the head. He was at a club, guy came up to him and pointed a gun point blank at his left eye. Guy reacted at the right moment and bullet (.22) went in at his eyebrow, traveled perfectly through and under his skin around the base of his skull and came out the back of his head.

So doctor his talking to him, he is basically fine. As per protocol RNs and techs are cutting his clothes off, and the guy has old yellow bruises from head to toe. Doctor starts noticing the bruising, he looks at the guy, looks at the bruises, looks at the guy again and says "did I not just see you last week in here?" Guy says "yeah". Doctor says "your girlfriend's ex boyfriend beat the **** out of you right?" Guy says "yeah". Doc says "was he the guy that tried to shoot you tonight"......"yeah", doc says "some sound medical advice.....find another girlfriend"

Will never forget that for some reason.

@tucsoncacti is on fire! I would love to learn about Pai-Gow sometime!
It's a blast! Just a note if you're at a casino and see it play it. Dealer always has to tell you how house would play the hand.

Like captain said. It's a nice slow pace. If you know how to play poker then Pai Gow is easy to pick up. It's basically two handed poker. Youre dealt 7 cards. You play your highest hand on the 5 card hand, and your highest low card hand on the two card hand. For example let's say your dealt A,K,J,J,7,6,4,2 your five card hand would be JJ7642, and your 2 card hand would be AK. You play against the dealer, dealer has to beat both of your hands to take your money, you have to beat both of his to win money. So lots of pushes happen. Also lots of side bets can take place for extra winnings. That starts at getting a 3 of a kind or higher. And odds push those bets higher pay out for better hands. Tons of fun and hours fly buy if you get a good table of people.

Hah.....thanks to you it's been about 18 months. You pretty much inspired me to seek out the OL rabbit hole.

I think it does if you get a good table of people. I have played it at the JW in Vegas. I am pretty sure that's where I learned it. At the JW it's more of a local casino where most people playing there are from Vegas. Or that's the vibe I got from it. BTW Pai-Gow means poop hand, and your always hoping the dealer gets that hand.

I couldn’t remember if you had started before or after me. Can’t wait to follow along

You have no idea. Also for reference girlfriend came in to see him, she looked like a lady of the night, guy was WAY in over his head with her.

Also Tucson, first weekend of college starting is amazingly awful. So many freshman come in with alcohol poisoning on Friday and Saturday night. First year I was at University Medical Center, I was scheduled for the ER. A sucker is born every minute as they said. I had no clue what was about to happen to me for the next 48 hours. After that lesson learned, I made sure I was off that weekend for the next 14 years......eff that.

That’s one reason I’m glad I don’t work near a college. I will have to tone down a lot of my stories.

Got ER nurse? Team Paradise has the medical field covered this year haha. Today I'd like you to meet @hedley_lamarr08, bring the questions!
