I know a world champion!!!

Now, we are not old high school buddies or anything but we are both on the same poker forum, I have bought some of his action before, met him at Horseshoe in southern Indiana when we played the same 6 handed event, and we text one another (especially about Steelers and Pats). It isn't a fluke, he is a professional poker player that travels the tournament circuit but... I AM SOOOOO HAPPY FOR HIM!!!

thats pretty cool now tell him to come to the AC get together and give me some lessons on how to play better!

That's pretty sweet man! I've always been a fan of poker. My sister's look last year when I was on the tip of the couch with my eyes glued to the screen at the final table was priceless.

I know the name and the guy can play. Tgtt I didn't know you were a player. Like to sit at a table with you. Playing in Vegas next week

I was quite serious before DOJ shut down online poker (that's why I got back into golf) and I make 1 or 2 trips to Tunica a year but I've never made it to Vegas. If you're ever in southern Indiana then we will get a game at any 1 of 3 casinos in the area.

That is so awesome tgtt, to win with a straight flush is insane. I know a guy (not a friend, just know him) who won a bracelet in 2009 and about the same money. I used to play all the time, now I only play occasionally, mostly due to the lack of funds as a college student.

You ever get your money back when they shut down sites? I'm playing in sat. Tourney in st Louis next month. Winner gets seat at WS.

Sweet! My brother-in-law took 21st in event 33 and won over 12K. He went all in with a 277,000+ stack and two aces. Guy called with two 8s and drew another pair of 8s on the flop.

And that ended my brother-in-law's WSOP adventure.

Does anyone remember a few years back when a royal flush beat out quad aces? That was literally the best poker hand I have ever seen played.

I remember that but give a little bit and I'll post the best hand ever played.

I got my money back ($3600) from PokerStars. They have always been legit and by far the best in the business. Full Tilt was ~$400,000,000 short and I still haven't received that ($1500) yet but PokerStars is negotiating a buyout so there is still hope.

I have only played at Lumiere in St Louis. Best dealers ever and a decent game too.

When I'm 18 I can play on a cruise ship. Gotta be 21 in the states though :(

Would the bank give me a loan for $10,000 to buy in? Seems easier than qualifying.

That's the thing with these huge events, you can be an amazing player and always get it in with the best but it takes a lot of luck to still win all those situations. Even AA vs 88 is only a 4 to 1 favorite.

That is awesome! His name sounds familiar.

Here is the hand I like (cash game hands are a whole different story):

He was lagging in stack size I think, and felt it was time to make the big move. The guy with the 88 was sitting with close to a 400,000 stack. My BIL is a goof player, but the cards didn't fall his way.

I believe Indian casinos are 18.

Very cool, tgtt! The name sort of rings a bell, good for him on the bracelet and victory.

Not in Cheeseland. 21.

Kevin

They are in Minnesota.

This is pretty cool! I thought cashing out 400 was a big deal when I would play Online.. It was fun but I am glad I got out before I got too hooked on it

I like poker. I watch the WSOP sometimes, and play a bit myself. Awesome that you guys know legit players. That's a lot of money.
