At THP, we believe that testing should be done not only by us, but also by the wonderful forum members and we have another new testing project. One of the cool features about being an active member of the THP Forum is that we look to you guys/gals, the consumers, to give feedback on equipment to golfers all around the world. Each month we send out iron sets, drivers, putters, trainings aids and golf balls to our active members to be a part of the THP Forum Member testing.

The Equipment
The last forum testing review THP did on a set of Ping irons was the i20 and it was a lot of fun. So we are back to do it again with Ping for their latest set to come out, the S55.

Criteria
You must be able to play golf (either on course, driving range or indoor facility).
3 Forum Members will be selected to participate along with Jman.

Testing Process
If selected it will be your job to test the irons out (minimum of once per week) and update the official testing thread with feedback on your findings. You must be on the forum to answer questions throughout the testing period as well as discuss the irons thoroughly. This is long term testing and will need updates for a period of a couple of months.

To participate you must be an active forum member or become an active forum member. Being active on THP has its benefits and product testing is one of them (monthly testing like this). If you are new, that is okay, being active is more than just tenure.

Rules
This is not a contest, so there really are no rules. All we ask is that you make a post in this thread and answer these questions. Please have an answer to all questions and be specific.

1. What irons are you currently playing?
2. What is your natural shot shape with irons?
3. What shaft and shaft flex is in your irons?
4. What length and lie do you play in your irons?

Keep in mind if you are not chosen for this, there will be plenty of opportunities in the future here at THP for testing and other product trials. Stay active and you will have a chance to be part of these awesome testings we do here.

4. What length and lie do you play in your irons?--1/2 long, standard lie

Holy crap! Those are gorgeous! I know I just got picked to test the JumboMax Grips (thanks again!!), but these are awesome looking and I can't resist at least sticking my name in.

1. What irons are you currently playing?--Adams CMB Forged 5-PW (RH)
2. What is your natural shot shape with irons?--Slight fade
3. What shaft and shaft flex is in your irons?--KBS Tour Stiff. Honestly I should probably go a little softer though, like an R+. I like the flight though.
4. What length and lie do you play in your irons?--Standard length, 1* up
 
Wow - perhaps the nicest PING iron i've every seen!

2. What is your natural shot shape with irons? Gentle Fade
3. What shaft and shaft flex is in your irons? TM Rocketfuel Stiff
4. What length and lie do you play in your irons? Standard length and 2 degrees upright

2. What is your natural shot shape with irons? Straight, mostly, depending on the day a baby draw or fade (and I do mean baby)
3. What shaft and shaft flex is in your irons? Callaway Uniflex
4. What length and lie do you play in your irons? +1 on length, Up 3.

1. What irons are you currently playing? Cleveland 588 Altitude
2. What is your natural shot shape with irons? Straight to fade
3. What shaft and shaft flex is in your irons? UST Actionlite 55; Regular flex
4. What length and lie do you play in your irons? Currently playing stand L/L but have played Pings in the past - standard length, green dot (2.25 degrees up).

Can't wait to follow along with this testing...

2. What is your natural shot shape with irons? Straight
3. What shaft and shaft flex is in your irons? Project X 6.0 flighted
4. What length and lie do you play in your irons? Standard Length, 2 degree's flat

I have an indoor practice facility and weather is still good in SW, MO, so I can test both indoors and outdoors.

Man those are some sweet irons. I almost picked up a set of G15s but didn't pull the trigger.

  • Left to right, try to play a baby fade

3. What shaft and shaft flex is in your irons?
  • Stiff, currently S300's

4. What length and lie do you play in your irons?
  • +1" and standard lie (current set is 1* up but Matt H. fitted for standard)

I'm in! I love ping irons, I was planning on looking seriously at these for next year.

1. Adams Ovation, had them for 5 years. Its time to upgrade
2. Shot shape is medium trajectory usually straight with maybe a minimal fade
3. Shaft is True Temper Ovation standard flex, I would benefit from stiff now.
4. With Ping I'm Blue dot Standard length. Wrist to floor is 34.5.


I have full acess to all the means of testing, covered range. And multiple courses from executive to links. Pick me! And thank you for the opportunity!

2. What is your natural shot shape with irons? My natural shot shape is a fade.
3. What shaft and shaft flex is in your irons? True Temper Dynamic Gold S300, stiff flex.
4. What length and lie do you play in your irons? Standard length, 2* upright is what I was last fitted for.
