Damn. I had to look this up, thought no way. Way too soon. I enjoyed some of his music early in my country listening days. RIP

I had zero interest in country music outside of Garth Brooks when Jenn and I first started dating. Toby Keith was one of those guys that made me open my mind more to the genre. So many good hits. One of my favorites is Get Drunk and Be Somebody.

I met Toby for the first time mid 90's when I was working for WYYD in Central Virginia. He was larger than life and loved the military. Gone way to soon....

I saw him concert once. It was a fun show.

Not a big country fan, but definitely a fan of people living life their own way and he did that. Him singing “I’ll never smoke weed with Willie again” on Bob and Tom always gave me a good laugh.
