Thanks man, the place looks great! I've already talked to a few of the guys I play with all the time and we're definitely kicking around the idea of heading out there next year when the other course opens.

Does anyone know if they plan on building more than 2 courses?

We heard some rumors that the 3rd one already has an architect selected, but construction won't start anytime in the next year.

I've seen articles suggesting the property could (easily) support 5 courses someday. We also drove by two other decent looking, but unaffiliated courses within 5-10 minutes of the property.

Dude your pics were outstanding, I just want MORE MORE MORE! Haha. Good info on #3, so basically just make plans to get there when 2 is finished then!

Exactly. When 2 is ready to play this will be a great 36 hole facility with great accommodations. Only more good to come from that as they build out. The day I went they had all 45 preview rounds booked and other days are similar. I'm thinking demand will be good because of the fair weather during the summer.

Got back yesterday from playing Sand Valley. It definitely lived up to the hype and I cant wait to get out there again. I'll add a few of my pictures as well. All 18 were open except for a temp green on 15. The newly opened holes weren't in as good shape obviously especially on the greens but you got a really good idea of how the course will play.

The building in the last picture is a lodge. They started work on it a few weeks ago and is booked starting October 2nd. The clubhouse is going to be by the container on the hill to the right of the lodge.

Its a ways, probably a quarter mile. They said when its all done they will shuttle people to the first tee. The lodge/clubhouse area is just off the the 17th green and to the left of the 18th tee box.

Sounds like it's near the "driveway" as I know you have to drive along the 18th I believe to get to the temporary parking. Interesting. Have a wrap at the turn?

Yeah its closer to the driveway/where the construction workers sit by the driveway.

I didn't eat anything there but what they were making smelled good. The group ahead of us stopped though and it made the back 9 very slow. I can't wait to play it again though either next year or a year later after it grows in some more. I thought the bunkers were weird. I always had a fried egg lie and I just sunk in them. They were fine to hit out of though.

As a side if anyone else is going there this year. Take apache to 15th and it brings you right to the gate. Both of these roads are paved, if you take archer you are on the ATV road that Girardcorp mentioned which is fine if you drive a truck or an old subaru.

I missed 17 short right, about 5-10 feet back of the hill (pin was front right too). My caddie wanted me to putt from there. I listened to him and put it to 6 feet and made par. He said "I don't even think Phil would try a wedge from up here." Of course that made me try it. I flopped 2 balls and they were 4 and 11 feet away

It's definitely a cool hole (and course).

They figured at least end of October but they are very busy at the site. Have a lodge and rooms to build.

Punch Bowl 17 was indeed awesome. Its long on the scorecard but from the tips my friend and I got irons to it with the wind. The lodge should be almost done, they have reservations for next weekend already. I can't wait to get back there.
