What did you shoot today?

Well I shot a 72 then followed it with a 64.It wasn't a two day tournament just the scores I got on the front and back at Cardinal Hill in Liberty.I guess I got my monies worth.Maybe it's time to just sell my clubs and quit.

That made me laugh quite a bit. But you dont want to do that. Keep at it and as long as you are having fun, the scores will come down in the end.

That was funny Jeff, I haven't played at Cardinal Hill for at least 10 years. What kind of shape is it in? Definitely don't quit, it has to get better.

Try a new course jeff, something different might help. Just shooten from the hip here, but I've been strugglin lately, sort of like no "feel". Driver all over the place, putts long or short, even my trusty 5 iorn went South.

A buddy called and wanted to get a quick 9 in tonight so we went to a course close to home we never play. Shot 44 with some of the best shots I hit all year. I still had some yips, but should be respectable in tomorrows scramble.

Now all I have to do is find my putter and figure out how to draw the ball consistantly, lol. Gotta love it...

the scores will come down in the end.

Hopefully, before the end.

Jeffann - Have you ever considered playing an executive or par 3 course? They can be great confidence builders and you won't get frustrated.

What a day! Shot an 85, (thats big for me), even though I could not putt. 3 putted 4 times and the driver started out ugly, but the iorns and my new 3 hybrid were straight as an arrow. Then stopped by the pool hall and shot lights out there.

Anyone know what the stars said for a 50 year old Virgo? I know what you were thinking I was gonna say.

Back at it after like 8 years, and almost 50 years old, it's real hard to complain about anything under 90.

85 is "bad" WOW.

Well despite struggling with the driver and getting myself into trouble early I shot a 104 at Hodge.Only had one 3 putt.Guess I might play a few more rounds .
And Mo Cardinal Hill is in great shape but the rough is high.

It's been a long time since I played Hodge Park. I don't think we even finished, as it started pouring on us just as we started the back nine.

Hopefully, before the end.

Yes I've considered playing an executive course but wearing a tie isn't my cup of tea. :D
No actually there's a 6 hole par 3 course that costs $5 to play as long as you want that I need to go to to get my scoring clubs working again. It's where I practiced last summer but I haven't went this year and my scores show it.

Where is that course Jeff?

Wow.:blob: I hope this was a break through day for me. Started out on one and landed in the 18 fairway, got up and down for a 5(par).One lost ball and 13 putts!:alien2: The best thing I did in today's round is realize that I am not a pro and I cannot hit my 5 iron 200+ yards. Best shot of the day for me was a 175 yard 4 hybrid to about 8 feet for bird and I sunk it! Total for 9 holes was a 43, that's a +7! That's great progress for me! Woo hoo! Back out there tomorrow at 9:36a barring rain.Golf does not suck today.:D

Congrats on the round Christian, I'm jealous because I've only been out once this week. I rediscovered how to hit my driver before the round but the irons went AWOL. Go figure.

Don't you hate when that happens? I know I do!

Great score CG! Where did you play today?

River Oaks in Grandview. That's where I play most of my rounds because when I walk I don't pay(except for the monthly fee $29!)

I spent a lot of time over your way Christian. Lived in Sedalia, maybe 75 miles East for 16 years. Going through Lees Summit tomorrow on the way back "Home". My family still lives there and I get back to play some, generaly around LOZ. Good luck tomorrow

Shot a 41 in our 9 hole league play. On the second hole,a par 4, I had to pitch out from under a tree leaving 105 yards to the green. I sunk the wedge for a birdie. On #8 I was pin high in two (flushed a 5 iron from 190) but landed in a trap that was "cement" from all the rain we've had - resultant bogey. An errant drive on #9 landed on a root under a tree, double bogey 6. All in all though a good round.

Ha! Congratulations on the birdie GenErr!

Today was an okay day. Maybe I am getting too greedy. I shot a 49. 1 O.B. and 17 putts. 2 - 3 putts :banghead: Doubled both of the par 3's. The driver is still pretty squirrely. I do not think that I can fix it until I get to the range. Until then I will continue to play the slice. My alignment is getting better and I am happy with that. My course management is improving as in the last two rounds I have not tried any "hero" shots and have been satisfied with getting to the par 4 in 3 if the second shot does not afford a good look at the green. I do not normally play on the weekend due to the traffic on the course, should I tomorrow.......?

39 front & 37 on the back for a nice tidy 76. Now to be fair I have played this course at least 100 times & it's only 6,000 yds with a slope of 121 so it's fairly easy. Also par is only 70 as there are no par 5's on the back. 1st tee shot my driver wanted to act up but I quickly got it sorted out & was fine.

Best shot of the day was a little 313 yd par 4 hole which doglegs right slightly. Hit a crappy drive with my 3w into the left rough, was still 125 yds out & used my pw even though I know I typically can't hit more than 122 or so with that club. Came up a bit short & was sitting about 5' off the fringe & maybe 10' total from the pin. I was going to chip it but then decided to try something my wife does quite often & just use my putter. It bounced once coming out of the rough & hit the pin dead center & dropped in for birdie.

Also swapped putters today, left the Tourismo mallet with the loose head at home & used the TM Rossa Imola. Good choice too as I had 29 putts, may have to keep this one in the bag for awhile.
