What Driver Shaft Are You Using Right Now?

Replaced the stock Alta CB shaft in my Ping G425 with the Tensei AV Blue and it now feels silky smooth off the tee.

I thought a counter balanced shaft would work for me, but I was wrong. Just took me 6 months to figure it out.

UST Mamiya LIN-Q M40X TSPX Black 6F4. Really have enjoyed the shaft.

For my awesome TEE C723 (most thankful to THP & TEEm Tour Edge), I went softer from my previous driver.

Fujikura Ventus Blue 6-S. Every fitting/lm session I always seem to be fit into an X or TS, going to the Stiff flex has really made life easier off the tee, launch, distance everything.

I have a UST Proforce V2 6F3 that has been really good the last month or so

Ventus Blue 5s velocore. Paired with the Paradym X i really like it . I have experimented with others but always go back to this shaft. It just seems to be a good fit for me.

Nothing fancy here - well, maybe sort of fancy.

I am rotating between 3 shafts - trying to learn what is best for me, and understanding that after knee surgery in Jan 24, I will get to sort of start from scratch, hopefully golfing again by mid-late April but likely May.

So, Lin-Q Red 60 Regular
Atmos Red 50 Senior - but slightly tipped
NV (the latest version of the green) 55 also Senior.

What I think is this. I am now - sort of?, able to control the lighter weight Atmos and NV and as a result I am getting a bit more distance. But also hitting it even higher than ever.

I think - maybe - if the Lin-Q was available in blue as a 50 R it could be the ideal shaft - if not the red in the lighter 50.

I do hope to get some speed back next year once my knee bionic.

Aerotech Ti-Fiber F5 - some days I like and others not…. but having a driver fitting next week and all may change.

Graphite Design Tour AD CQ shaft. I’m coming from the AD-DI which I loved. This seems a little stiffer but the same flex. So far been happy with it. Friend turned me onto the GD shafts. Love them in all my woods

Project X HZRDUS Silver 50g 5.5. It feels good, and works best when I keep my transition smooth and don't overswing.

I have fancy Ventus shafts etc..

Yet I’m finding the stock RDX Red in my Ping 430 LST gives me the ball flight I want to see.

LINQ Black 6F5.

One word: Smooth

Fujikura Ventus Velocore Red R, cut down 3/4 inch to play 45 length in a Callaway Rogue ST Max 10.5.

It came with a non-Velocore Blue that didn't want to get the ball in the air for me. The Red works well for me. Since I bought the club new but a year after release it was a reasonable cost. Of course the shaft I liked was more than the club.

I put the same Red Velocore in my 3 wood (which also came stock with the Blue non-Velocore) and it feels like cheating off the tee on tight fairways.

Mitsubishi Tensei 1K White 60S @ 45”.

Went to the range. Was hitting the Denali black really well. I putt in the Ventus TR black just to see, it was only in for 4 swings. Then pulled. I think needs some more Denali shafts for my 3 wood and UW..

Diamana TB 60S... Absolutely love it.

KBS Tour Driven 60, I really like it, about seven yards more carry than the LA Golf G Series I had been using.

Right now I have a Helium 5F3 that I’ve used for a while. I do like it but I have some other options I may try:
  • Evenflow Riptide CB R flex. It’s in a PXG 0211 right now.
  • Ventus Red 4T Core 50R from a TourEdge.
  • Tensei Blue R flex.
I’ll give the Ventus a try after our Club Championship this weekend. Looking for a higher ball flight and a bit better dispersion.
The Ventus is installed. Its
An inch shorter than the Helium, I think 44.5. I have some lead tape to bring the swingweight back up, tho the first outing without it on Saturday was promising. Playing in the morning for another go at it. More to follow.

So after playing this morning with mixed results, I worked with my pro to bring the swingweight up, and to look at my driver swing. After a few swings he asked if I had my adapter tool, so I went to get it in the cart.

We tried the B2 setting first to get a bit more upright and a bit of draw bias. After a few more swings I said I’d like to get the flight up a bit more. We moved to C3 and POW! Really nice trajectory, baby draw.

Turns out our pro used to be a regional fitting specialist for Titleist. Awesome 20 minute session got swing, driver and ball flight all straight.

BTW my 11* driver now sits at 11.75*.

Just put Callaway adapter on my Hypersonic. Looking forward to how the Hypersonic Paradym combo work. Will be playing Ventus Red TR in my soon to arrive TSR2 driver.

Autoflex 505 in a Paradym TD head. Ventus Red TR 6s as back-up.

Have so many driver shafts😂

Mitsubishi Diamana DF, BF, GT

I just switched to this in 6.0 and couldn’t be happier.

So much better for me than the 5.5 black that I was playing.
