When you think about inserts in putters, the brand Odyssey has been at the forefront in the space for two decades. Not too many tournaments at the highest level go by, without seeing the iconic white face adorned on a flat stick rolling in some crucial putts. The O-Works line being introduced today, may change that and the picture gallery below will tell that story better than our words will be able to.
Features & Technology
Unmatched Roll with our New Microhinge Face Insert
This new technology will change the way people look at roll off the putter face forever. Our Microhinge technology provides incredible gains in topspin and roll at impact regardless of your stroke. The stainless steel Microhinge plate is co-molded into our Thermoplastic Elastomer Feel Layer, providing great feel and allowing the hinges to lift the ball into a better roll at impact.
New and Improved Versa Alignment Technology
This revolutionary high contrast alignment technology allows your eyes to key in on the linear designs to highlight the proper face angle from address to impact for alignment throughout your putting stroke. The new red highlight lines give you an additional aid to make sure you’re lined up exactly to your target.
Tank Counterbalance for More Consistency
More stability at impact. When golfers tried these new putters in testing, 60% of them had a more consistent path, which is an absolutely staggering number. The counterbalance weight, heavier heads and heavier shafts quiet the hands and engage the big muscles to promote a more consistent stroke.
Tour Proven Shapes
These are some of our most prolific models that have dominated Tour events and major championships for years. As the #1 putter across the major tours, we’re constantly working with the best players in the world to develop and tweak shapes for ultimate performance.
What is the Microhinge Insert?
The goal with the new insert is to use technology to get the ball rolling faster and better for all putting strokes. Many tour players are using a forward press and hitting almost up on the ball to achieve less skids and hops and more top spin to have the ball follow their intended line. Microhinge is looking to change that by giving this ability to everybody regardless of stroke. At impact the hinges are going to lift the ball and add top spin to it. What does this do and how does it help you? Subtracting skidding and hopping in favor or top spin will ideally give you better distance control, which will make lag putts finish closer to the hole and short putts find the hole more often.
Does it work? Our testing at THP says it does, but instead of listening to us, Odyssey and THP put these putters in the hands of 12 golfers and they have been working with the O-Works line for over a month. Each one has been anxiously awaiting posting their results, so click the link below and see what they have to say.

Odyssey O-Works Putter Reviews
Way ahead in the game of tech yet again.
And that 7 is sexy.
Interesting lineup. I will be anxious to see what the early results are from those that have one in the bag.
The Microhinge Face Insert sounds like a game changer and love seeing them mix back in a #6 head.
Great looking putters and the technology really makes sense. I was hoping they would come in around $200 but if the technology works they will be worth the money.
I’m digging that 1 Wide, and the alignment aid that comes with it.
The face tech in these is something I would like to try and I think the alignment aids are a big improvement over the original Versa. I would love a flow neck 1W but since that likely won’t happen – that #9 looks pretty good.
Interesting. They always have great offering and these new ones continue that history!!
The insert is something to get excited about. Well done, Odyssey.
Dang. I just bought an Odyssey Works putter from 2016’s line-up. Might have to trade in-Trade up! 😉
Very cool tech in the inserts. I like the look of that #7. $229 seems about right for these.
Nice write-up.
I’ve been looking forward to these being announced. Either the 1W or the #6 will likely make it into my bag.
Man these look awesome and the new tech in them is fascinating. I wish I needed a new putter.
I’m looking forward to reading the reviews from the guys at the Grandaddy.
That 1W is sharp!! Will definitely be pondering one of these for the collection. Thanks for the write up!
I know which one I like. I know which one I want.
Beautiful!!!
