re-do?
Stop skimming THP
I didn’t skim.. I read your whole post. I am very interested in what you are saying..
New shaft company..
Impacts Fuji..
Tell me more..
Hahah.
There has been a thread about it for days, is what I am saying.
I know the information is not out there anywhere as of yet, but when it is, THP will also get no credit for breaking the story haha.
But we will have a lot more on it coming up soon.

IMO playing anonymous people can be pretty fun. There’s a TGC league I play in pretty often and the way they do the leaderboard makes it pretty fun to chase. Problem is the handicapping in TGC is bad so it’s tough to do it in a way that makes it fun to chase for all skill levels.
Playing against ghosts or leaderboards can be pretty fun too. Say I was playing and saw your avatar stick one close on 5, that would still be pretty fun and engaging to me. Or say there was a weekly THP closest to the pin competition, it would be fun to watch the leaderboard change even if it wasn’t all happening live. I also think having ghosts/leaderboards might be a necessary gateway to live engagement. Like a system that has only a live option may get far less engagement than having a non-live component that can lead to more live options.
I agree playing live with video and stuff would definitely be the best. You can pretty much do that today with something like TGC plus Discord or Zoom. Problem is there’s a bunch of setup and different apps and stuff involved there. Also have to set up a camera and mic in the hitting space which isn’t feasible for everyone.
I think it’s easy to see a software solution (EA Sports PGA: Sim Version is the vision that others have mentioned) but think it could be facilitated by hardware too. Dream world perhaps, but say a future version of Rapsodo uses the cameras both for the swing/ball and for chatting with your friends in a lobby for a round or a closest to the pin.
I enjoyed it.
Just an odd guess from me as to why folks love to comment on “unreleased low res” pictures of new equipment. I think a ton of it has to do with timing/climate. For a lot of us our season comes to an end when many of these photos get leaked. It’s kind of a hot stove thing. Speculation etc.
Also the upgrade to garage sim if it ever happens would be my favorite thing ever
The whole online sim golf community talk was really interesting. I can’t believe it has taken this long for one of these companies to develop something like Xbox Live and how so many people play Call of Duty with other people from all over the country.
That’s with his UT irons lol
Please make this sim golf live a thing!
Marketing forgiveness should be what sells products. But it goes against the ego of a lot of golfers.
I do have a question of curiosity @JB. First will preface as I am huge skytrak fan and should be evident in my post history. With that said I agree the R10 is garbage, but with Garmin’s HQ a stone throws from me and knowing how high quality there other non golf products are. Do you think they will be able to bring out quality products in the launch monitor space or is the scuttlebutt in the industry that bad for future products as well.
In the future? Probably. In the near future? No.
