Srixon’s Jim Furyk Wins The Tour Championship

Srixon USA, a world leader in golf club and golf ball technology, congratulates staffer Jim Furyk for his victory at the 2010 THE TOUR Championship. Furyk carded a final round even-par on Sunday for a one stroke victory, which was a career-high 3rd win of the season for Furyk, as well as his 16th career victory on the PGA TOUR. With the win, Furyk collected 2,500 points to clinch the fourth annual FedExCup with grand total of 2,980 points, while the runner-up finished with a total of 2,728 points. In addition to the $1.35 million first-place prize money for winning The TOUR Championship, Furyk also collected $10 million for winning his first FedExCup.

“I’ve said it all week; I really was focused this week on winning that trophy and just trying to win the golf tournament. Let the rest fall as it may,” said Furyk. “You know, it’s more of a pride thing. You want to win. When you have a three-shot lead with three holes to go, you don’t want to give that up — you don’t want to be the guy that gave up a three-shot lead with three holes to go.”

Furyk carried a Cleveland Launcher DST hybrid, Srixon Z-TX irons and Cleveland wedges (50, 56) in his bag and played a Srixon Z-STAR X golf ball.
