Earlier this year we announced the Mizuno Experience, where six lucky readers would be headed to Myrtle Beach for a weekend of golf, equipment and more. The time is here and just because you are not headed to True Blue and Caledonia with the group, doesn’t mean you can’t win too.
This thread will be a live update of the entire trip where two teams made up of THPers and Mizuno Golf will battle it out over 45 holes of golf to declare the winner of the first ever THP Mizuno Experience.
The Teams
Team Vosh: Chris Voshall
@Jman
@NVGOLFER80
@Jaw2000
Team Crawford: Jeff Crawford
@Canadan
@Stryker
@Desmond
The Itinerary
Friday Evening: Meet & Greet Dinner and Equipment Handout
Saturday: 45 Holes of Team Golf at True Blue
Saturday PM: Group Dinner and Mizuno Equipment Roundtable
Sunday: 18 Holes of Team Golf at Caledonia
Sunday PM: Lunch and Drinks and Champions Celebration
The Contest
While the participants are getting the better part of a new bag full of equipment for being there, those not with us can win a Mizuno driver to a lucky winner of this contest. Entering is easy. Post below who you think will win the match between the two teams listed above. Team Vosh or Team Crawford. Then sit back and watch it all unfold beginning Friday evening with everything posted live as it happens.
If you like our weekly contests, make sure you share them across the social media platforms below and check back each day for more new exclusive THP content.
Entries must be submitted by Friday July 30th at 11:59pm ET. The winner will be chosen randomly from those that guessed right. Please remember only one entry per person.
How was it. Why not kiawah?
I’ll bet there would have been a breeze!
Oh I love that course. I play most of my rounds there. What did you think?
That’s a hefty drive just for one round and then driving back out the opposite direction.
if they were in mt pleasant or Summerville, sure.
I’m sure you know much more about the area, but we go 2-5 times a year most years. I’ve made that drive sooo many times – kiawah/seabrook to the city. Oh, you’re right, once on the island it’s a good 15 more to the course, i forget that part, still, it’s kiawah!
no matter, i assume it was more about the company than the venue!
ya he was coming from Myrtle. Played in mt pleasant so that’s a killer drive to go all the other side of Charleston county and then back up to start your drive home to Ohio.
Worth it? Sure if it’s the only chance you got but after an already long/hot weekend. I’d be too pooped to do it haha
You Midwest people are crazy. I try not to drive anything further than 6 hours.
it was an "easy" 10 hours today hahaha
Missed my co-pilot though..
?
This is all I can think of with your road trip, especially now that you have a Finn cycle obsession
@Vosh68 had some awesome quotes from that movie Sunday while we rode them haha
Send me a PM with your full name and shipping address along with shaft flex and we will get this right out to you.
Glad you arrived safely at your destination – 10 hours is tough – don’t know why, but I thought it was longer. Ohioans – they’ll drive just about anywhere at any time for any length of time. My cousins in Toledo – would come down to DC/VA for a long weekend – somewhat regularly – a lot of road time for a short time out of the car.
Boom! Congrats on the win!
This was a great follow. Made me want to go back too…
I actually found fairly accurate replicas of both courses on pga 2k21 and played those over the weekend
I may have to make a day trip in the fall.
It looks like you guys had a blast.
Templeton is @NVGOLFER80‘s new forum name – make it official.
I am pretty sure @Stryker played through every possible golf ailment this weekend like a boss.
@Jaw2000 is both bionic and a weight loss success story – super impressive.
My 18 hole round with @Desmond was about the most relaxed and casual approach to competitive golf I’ve ever experienced haha, and it was great.
Rolling through the mountains trying to quick buy headcovers in trash reception with @Jman was a terrible idea.
Seeing @JB navigate the emotional roller coaster that is the True Blue deck off 18 reminded me again how all in he is for this community.
Our waitress at dinner Saturday night was basically a legend.
True Blue and Cale saved my bank account by only having one medium polo that I wanted.
I think I am done sweating now.
@Vosh68 never misses a fairway
I hear @jcraw311 is good at that too.
Mules should come in copper mugs.
Finn Scooters are the only option.
Instead of one of us (Vosh, Jaw, Desmond) striking lightning with a hole in one saturday afternoon, it struck behind the green before we hit.
I have the approach game of a +4 and the driver game of a 30 handicap, don’t judge me – 3 iron is efficient.
Someone needs to invent a teleporter already… or maybe just a big tube that shoots you state to state in 10 seconds.
Etc.
Should I message @GolferGal right now or later?? haha.
It will be interesting to hear the origin story for this new name. But in my mind….."Rye Guy" is so Canadan. .
Thus my reason for @NVGOLFER80‘s handle change.

Yesterday.
Lightening – if I remember correctly, Vosh told me it struck while I was in address – so I missed it – though – after 3 tries (in different rounds) I finally hit the green instead of the deep bunker in front! I miss everything (that was my best kids voice). I did see a crapload of lightning on the way home, one hit so close to the car that I could actually feel it inside the car – and the area lit up like a flashbulb for a moment. What a great weekend and time. Dan, thanks for the tips, I will be browsing youtube and hitting the range Thursday afternoon (first opportunity) to work on set up and get that driver dialed in – AND use new found footwork throughout the bag.
we got along too well to be related. haha.
Hahahaha, we are all insane.
Bahahahahaha! Probably true!
That sounds like my actual family!
I did a pretty good job making him look good off the tee!
I doubt Dan ever needs help there. Just glad to see you had fun man and still grinding. Kudos!!!
I did, actually. It’s proper bad. BUT, it’ll come back around.
the positive is that you never missed the center of the face.. Just some smash’y spin’y, swipe’y thing going on. irons were straight flush though.
one other thing to come out of it is a new fav.
This is awesome.

it’s soooo good
I am at Kiawah for the week. I walked on the beach next to the Ocean Course the last two days. Wind was blowing soooo hard.
This was a massive need for me, the past year has sucked for us all and if you listened to Off Course this last week when Dan had me on we both needed the trip fierce. For me a lot of it was getting around people who love golf and going to a place I love.
Starting there, TB/Caledonia are the THP golf Mecca. No one will ever convince me otherwise. It’s thick with history and importance. It was truly like coming home.
@Stryker it was fun to finally meet you, it was a bummer we needed to put you into a bubble like bubble boy, but your positivity was awesome. Keep on swinging brother.
@Desmond it was good to see you again, and it’s a reminder that our dual sarcasm works way better in person . The rounds we played had me cracking up with how chill and self deprecating we both were at the same times. It’s clear how much you’ve been working and I can’t wait to play again.
@Jaw2000 Jeff you are a HOOT. Probably the most upbeat person I’ve ever been around at an event or experience and I’ve been around a LOT. You drive like a madman, but by gosh you got us there every single time no matter which way we turned. I also can’t believe you made me shoot rum. You’re infectious in your personality. Don’t change.
@NVGOLFER80 Oh Templeton. Insert the Hangover Wolfpack gif here. It’s hilarious how the finish of quotes began and never stopped. You are a good one, and I’m happy as hell to call you friend. Also, those girls of yours are adorable, we gotta rock that father of three title like bosses that we are. This is just the beginning, I’m afraid you’re stuck with Dan and I.
Speaking of @Candan it remains true, you and your family are blood as far as I’m concerned. Road trips and breaking and entering your dads house followed by amazing alcoholic creme soda and everything in between, here’s to another decade my brother.
@Vosh68 and @jcraw311 are two of the most chill and genuine ive ever met in the industry. With people like you in the mix it’s little wonder Mizuno is rolling, and will continue to do so. Both of you make me sick off of the tee, and Jeff stuck so many 10+ foot putt daggers in my heart it still hurts . I look forward to seeing you two again, thank you for a hell of a great weekend.
@JB, I’ll not get too emotional, but I will be honest. Thank you for being you. I’ve known you for 10 years now and it’s always fun to see you light up at an event and more fun to see you get the chance to soak it all in. You and Morgan are family, there’s no way around that, the journey has been long and its far from over.
What. An. EXPERIENCE.
Did they not serve mules in copper?!?!?!?!?! that’s an outrage haha.
let me know how the courses are playing. I am thinking of heading down saturday to play one of them or seabrook.
I know. Savages, right?
They still went down brilliantly for what it’s worth… eh @Jman ?
