Completing the lineup of TSi metal woods, Titleist is announcing the new TSi2 and TSi3 hybrids. Knowing two areas that needed improvement, adjustability and sound, Titleist has worked on both and engineered what they call the new standard in the category.
Both models feature Carpenter 455 forged faces.
TSi2 provides high launch and distance for players with a sweeping delivery. Larger profile for those that prefer the look of the FW Wood in their hybrid spot.
TSi3 hybrids are distinctively different in nearly every way to the previously mentioned TSi2. Compact and featuring a more squared toe look that has very little face progression. This model features the same SureFit CG Track Technology system as the fairway wood, where a hidden track on the sole allows movement of the weight. Designed for players who hit down on the golf ball.

“One of the key points of difference in fitting and performance between the new Titleist TSi hybrids and the competition is the level of adjustability we offer, especially in the TSi3,” said Josh Talge, Vice President, Titleist Golf Club Marketing. “We all stress that golfers should be custom fit for drivers and irons, so why not hybrids? The golfer may need or want to increase or decrease loft, add a degree upright or make the club flatter. Those adjustability options are available with the new TSi hybrids and we think that, in combination with outstanding performance, sets these hybrids apart.”

I don’t have these in hand yet, but hope to soon.
I think it’s two fold, for a lot of these companies they’re an SKU that doesn’t sell super well. Bigger though is how far irons have come in playability in the 5/6 spot in particular.
And it hasn’t been easy.
Which one catches your eye and where would it fit in your bag?
I always think of titleist as more a ‘better strikers’ club so maybe they don’t think they could push enough product in those ranges for their hybrids? I know they have super forgiving stuff now and if I wasn’t a pingaholic I’d play the TSi3 driver and their irons in a heartbeat.
3. The 20* might knock a UT out of the bag. I got to spend some time with it inside and out, and it seemed to suit me very well.
You mis typed erotic
I get it from the sku standpoint as you have to sell enough to make a profit.
But if you already have the design how many would you have to sell to make adding another loft/head be worth it? Just a hypothetical.
On the flip side, for slower swingers, the senior crowd, etc high lofted hybrids can be a real asset to the bag. I usually start my iron sets at 26/27* with hybrids above that. Anything lower lofted iron wise and I lose my gapping.
With the year over year loft creep in irons, in a few of the sets this year, I’d be starting my iron set at a 7i (27.5*). For me to gap off adequately I need a hybrid in the 26-29* realm if not both a 26* and 29*. Not that my hybrids need to match my iron oem but it would be a nice option to have. For example it would be cool to game a Rad Speed 7i and then a Rad Speed 6h. But they stop at a 24*. That would be too much of a gap going from a 24* hybo to a 27.5* iron.
It’s interesting that Titleist, Tour Edge and Cobra are going away from the higher lofted hybrids in their "main" product line, yet other brands seem to embrace them. Like Ping is heavily touting their G425 7h in all the Youtube reviewer videos and Callaway has options like the 8h (the Ocho). Glad to see some OEM’s still embracing the high lofted hybrid.
Just a thought… many of the sets see a 3 degree gap between 7 and 6 iron. You could strengthen the 6 by a degree and have 4 degrees as a gap and then maybe fit into a Titleist 24 degree TSi2. If they are like past releases, the adapter will let you increase the loft by 2 degrees. That would give you a range of from 24* to 26*.
With AV White RAW 90 HY. Yes please.
OH… well I can say with absolutely certainty that that combo is straight fire on course.
In the cold. And wet.
I’m assuming it will elevate to raging inferno when the ambient temperature is above 40*.
Literally laughing out loud in my office and attracting glances as to the source of my amusement.
I am down for a raging inferno of an all conditions hybrid shaft ?
Too much club for me. If it came in a 23* or 24*, it might be a perfect club, but not in the 18* or 20*.
I really enjoy the 3. Another Titleist offering this year that seems pretty perfect for me, and I’m wanting to try to reincorporate a hybrid for at least the spring.
Yeah, when I looked at these, I wondered about TSI3 in 23/24 as something more iron like but TSi2 in a lower loft as something that might straddle the line between a 3H and 7W, but the lofts don’t permit it.
I guess the message is that if you aren’t comfortable hitting a 4i, TSi3 isn’t for you.
At this point buying local is gold. A golf club in had is worth two back-ordered or otherwise online!
And, I just realized I’ve got a good reason to go to the golf store… these were not out last weekend!
Seriously! I just talked to one of the store owners here, and he basically said, ‘I know you’re not going to wait for backorder on some of these things, but we’re trying to make sense of the deliveries we got and didn’t get with this crazy storm, so I will text you as I open anything I think might interest you.
You don’t need to come help.’
I did text him a wishlist, just to take out any guess work and unnecessary communication, because I’m considerate, and this was on it.
Ha ha ha… its a good thing to have your golf shop properly trained.
They sound like they are on their game!
I can’t top @OldandStiff Giphy on this (which was perfect), but I’m in.
The Tsi2 is a large shape that again really sets up well, and will be more confidence inspiring for most folks. I also hit it very well. This one was paired up with Tensei AV White, just due to the combination of demo lengths and models available (did not have a white in correct length for the 20> TSi3.
The Tsi2 would be an easy, no regrets decision to put in the bag, but the 3 had me pretty impressed. After playing a larger hybrid last season with the Mav Standard, I kind of want to switch up profile a little bit. The 3 was surprisingly good on mishits, I was getting most of what I would need of them. You feel them more for sure, and ultimately the Tsi2 is a bigger more forgiving club, but the 3 was definitely playable. I thought the Tensei was a pretty decent pairing, both the Blue and White.
I also hit the new Callaway Apex Pro. I would rate that as slightly small and more intimidating to look at than the TSi3. It really has a slimmed down look. Only took three swings with MMT Hy 85 but got similar results, and hung right in there with the TSi3.
First swing was a Rocket (For me) Sound was great
I think that I liked about it was the spin – I feel like I can hit this into a green and it would hole vs. the Mizuno I’m gaming now.View attachment 8994897View attachment 8994900View attachment 8994901
Really excited – Can’t remember the last time I hit a club off the the rack so well…
Just don’t seem to get along with the larger hybrids.
