The ratings draw was to be Tiger Woods’ big return, but at the Accenture Match Play Championship, all four number one seeds were out by the end of the second round. 
Instead, the tour surprise seemed to be 12 seed Sean O’Hair, who tore thorough Adam Scott, Boo Weekley and Ian Poulter to be defeated by Paul Casey, who won the bracket. Geoff Ogilvy defeated promising youngsters Camilo Villegas and Rory McIlroy to win his bracket. With Stuart Cink and Ross Fisher, they rounded out the top four. Ogilvy defeated Paul Casey in a strong set of rounds, ending 4 up and 3 to play. Stuart Cink took third place.
At the PGA’s other event, the Mayakoba Golf Classic in Cancun, Mark Wilson and JJ Henry both shot 66 in round one, for a four way tie behind Australia’s Jerrod Lyle who put up 65. On day two, Wilson shot 64. He (-13 total) and Henry held strong to finish first and second for the tournament. Kevin Streelman also shot 64, on round 4 to tie with Heath Slocum for 3rd. Kevin Na’s tournament low 62 earned him fifth.
The LPGA played a weekend of golf that would have been just thrilling to watch, at Honda LPGA Thailand. South Korea’s Hee Young Park shot the highest score for a round 
one total of 79 (+7), then a 64 in round two for the lowest score in tournament history. Day three was full of excitement when Brittany Long shot a 287 yard tee shot onto the green of her par four hole, followed by a 25 foot birdie putt for eagle. She ended the day three strokes behind leader Paula Creamer. After the fourth round, however, Ochoa would take the win (-14) followed by Hee Young Park (-11), Paula Creamer (-10), and Lang tied with Stacy Prammanasudh at -7.
The Nationwide Tour resumed with the Moonah Classic in Victoria, Australia. Australians Alistair Presnell, Peter O’Malley, and Michael Sim topped the final leaderboard. In a heartbreaking and exciting finish, O’Malley three-putted the 17th hole to tie, then Presnell scored a difficult 15 foot putt on the 18th to take the lead. Humble, he looks forward to using his earnings to fund his tour in America, and to leave the his days of sleeping in his van behind.
