Golfers tend to forget that as innovative as Cobra Golf has been in metalwoods, their irons have perhaps pushed boundaries even more. Not only were they among the first to create a distance iron which maximized length and consistency, they have borderline perfected it in the years that have followed. With what the F7 started so long ago, Cobra has never stopped to innovate and find ways to make improvement style irons that stand on their own as opposed to just being part of an annual release line.
You might not realize it, but Cobra’s irons are popular, and that is because in terms of performance, looks, ONE Length options, and price, they are hard to beat.
So what is a company to do? Keep on pushing, and with the AEROJET they have certainly done that.
Cobra AEROJET Irons
A notable piece of why so many enjoy Cobra’s game improvement iron releases is that they pay extreme attention to how the clubs look, specifically at address. With AEROJET, they have re-worked the topline to appear more pleasing at setup while also flowing into the hosel/neck in a more clean manner. Of course, the irons do showcase a red/blue color motif in line with the metalwoods, but many will be pleased to see it is a splash of accent color this time. That restraint means that the bushed chrome finish and black/carbon cavity accents pop in a very good way.
While looks are easy to make an initial decision, Cobra hopes what is under the hood is what really draws in people. Last year, the company introduced PWR-COR in its LTDx irons that put the CG behind the hitting zone to increase power. This year, Cobra realized it could be more efficient and effective, and so comes PWR-BRIDGE for the Aerojet irons.
The goal is always to get the CG as low as possible without sacrificing spin and speed, and there can be diminishing returns in other performance aspects. With PWR-BRIDGE, Cobra is using a floating weight design that is a 70g steel weight that sits entirely separated from the face, body, and sole of the iron. Yes, you read that right, using a Polymer Feel System that is injected around the weight to encase the hollow space they have allowed the PWR-BRIDGE to work and dampen vibrations to keep sound (feel) a pleasant experience.
Why is the PWR-BRIDGE such a big deal? It not only precisely places the center of gravity to hit the launch windows that Cobra wants for each iron in the set, but the space it creates now allows their legendary PWRSHELLface to flex 10% more, which means more speed. To further optimize things, the PWRSHELL also has a new H.O.T. FACE (Highly Optimized Topology) to create a variable thickness to optimize the added flex, namely making the thinnest portion of the face (1.9mm) 22% larger than in the LTDx. Head to head robot testing of the LTDx and AEROJET by Cobra showed up to 1.8 MPH more ball speed and 3.5 yards total distance. Also, for those concerned, yes, the company is adamant they kept an eye on spin consistency so as to make the AEROJET not just longer, but more repeatable than their predecessor.
The Details
Cobra’s AEROJET irons will hit stores and online retailers on 2/10/23 and come in both standard and graphite options. The variable length irons are $999 for steel (5-GW RH/LH, 4-PW RH) with the KBS Tour Lite 100 and $1099 for KBS PGI (85S, 75R, 65L, 55W) graphite in a combo setup (5H, 6-PW, GW). ONE Length are built to 37.25 7-iron length and are priced $999 for steel (5-GW) and $1099 for graphite (5-PW or 5H/6-PW) with the same shaft options.
As always Cobra is bringing an iron packed with tech to golfers at a price point which should keep a lot of people happy. Is there enough under the hood for you to go out and give the Cobra AEROJET irons a try? Let us know below or on the THP Community!

I don’t think this is right – AJ standard 7i is 37.25″
[/QUOTE]
You are correct, it is 7i length. I read the chart wrong.
That being said, big fan of 8i length One Length as well 🙂

You had me fooled  Besides, 8i isnthe length I’ve wanted to try in OL. The LTDx @ 7i length wasn’t immediately my cup of tee when I tried it.

Lol…same here. Went to cobra website but only saw 7i length.
The Aerojets did pretty well for me the past weekend, but really wanted to brag on the long irons. Hit them off the tee a couple of times at Pinehurst and they had right at the green in two on the par 5s at Southern Pines. Actually played the par 5s at even par at Southern Pines, largely because I was just hitting little pitch shots into the green on my third shot. All of the irons were good over the weekend, but playing the par 5s at Southern Pines relatively stress free was nice.

I tend to lay up on par 5s, but decided to get as close as possible this past weekend. Wasn’t comfortable with hybrid or fairway wood, but the AJ long irons came in clutch.
Have a set of these inbound (couldn’t pass on the deal). Really looking forward to putting these in play.
Since the MC, I have switched back and forth between the Aerojet OL set and a set for KING Tours that I picked up on a whim. The Aerojet irons are definitely more forgiving than the KING Tours, and I can elevate the Aerojets more easily. I also think my distances were more consistent with the Aerojets, but that could be because of the OL setup. I can’t say enough good things about the entire Cobra lineup, and the Aerojet irons have been exceptional.
I am still consistently playing the Aerojet 4i as a driving iron, and its been fantastic.

AJ’s are only offered at 37.25″, which is their 8i.
Edit- Im wrong, thats the 7i length.

I saw your correction, but just to clarify further, the set you have is stock standard, all based on a 7i length.

How have they been so far?
Other than some fat shots yesterday, I struck these pretty well. I’m still sorting out some things alignment wise with a couple of things I’m trying to improve in my swing but a decent swing produced good results. A good swing resulted in even better shots.
My Aerojet 4i driving irons continues to be a weapon for me off the tee. My member course has one hole, a par 4 that has a very narrow fairway with water on both sides, combined with an island green. I use this club every time on that hole and usually end up somewhere safe in the fairway with an 8 iron or less in.

5 is the longest I carry. Before the swing troubles set in, I’d been hitting it better than I had all year. I was hesitant to pull it on a couple of shots yesterday but it was needed. I hit what were probably the 2 best shots I’ve hit with the club.

They’ve been pretty solid so far. Mind you, 3 rounds in the rain and soggy ground, I have had my fair share of chunked shots. But when I make a good strike, I have been very happy with the feel and distance I have had. I do think they might be 1/2 inch too long, I will give it a few more rounds before I decide to cut them down. ( when I can not play in the rain).
