Two weeks ago, the new wedge line from Cleveland Golf was profiled here on THP and if you missed that, you can check it out here. Shortly after that, these were put into the hands of 9 THPers for review and you can read all of their thoughts at the link at the bottom of this article.
Before diving right into those reviews, we wanted to get a better explanation about all of the features and technology, so what better way to do that than to sit down with the R&D team for a short THP TV video explanation. Dean of THP speaks with VP of Research and Development, John Rae and has him break down all of the technology that is packed into this new CBX wedge.
Now that you are armed with the info, the bigger question is how well did it work for golfers? The THP Forum thread is filled with reviews already, before the CBX lineup even hits stores as THPers were some of the first to get their hands on them. Click here to head on over and read the reviews from regular golfers that got a full set of these to test long term and provide feedback on the THP Forum.
Don’t forget that at launch, you can purchase these golf balls (or any product) from Budget Golf at a discount by using the coupon on the right hand side of this page (scroll up and turn off ad blocker). 15% off, just for being a THPer, on any item they have.
I really like the idea of having GI wedges that more closely match my GI irons and that they include Cleveland’s sole technology and more centrally located COG. These will surely find their way into my bag soon.
I think this was a brilliant move by Cleveland to come out with a line of game improvement wedges. A lot of great information packed into this video.?

Really good info packed video here, great job with the questions Dean. Big fan of forgiveness in wedges and add to that what they are doing with the face to maintain spin and these will be a hit for many without question.
And about time an OEM really got “it” and expanded a true selection outside of bladed wedges.
Great video and great information. If people embrace these GI wedges there scores are going to drop. I believe Cleveland has done a great job here
Nice job Dean!I like the thought about more forgiveness which right now couldn’t hurt my game!!
Great video, interesting that this is their first foray into GI wedges.
The new Heel to toe V for versatility is important – who doesn’t need a little more meat in the bunker to get through it.
Interesting to see the change of CG to force the shot to hit heel side.
Hit these a bit and really enjoyed them. Might have to add them to the bag.
