Fresh off another win, Bryson DeChambeau might just be considered the hottest golfer in the world. To celebrate that big victory, we are giving away SIX DOZEN limited edition BAD golf balls to the lucky winner.
Last week it was announced that Bridgestone Golf was bringing back their popular ball fitting platform and for the new campaign, it would be more extensive than ever. Obviously, DeChambeau went through a ball fitting of his own when choosing to play the Tour B X and it has served him well.
We got a chance to catch up with Adam Rehberg, Golf Ball Fitting Manager, while at the 2019 PGA Merchandise Show last week and discuss the new initiative. In this short video, Adam and Michael Vrska break down ball fitting, why it evolved and how much it can impact you.
Contest
We are giving away SIX DOZEN of these to the lucky winner and entering is super easy, just follow the 3 steps below.
1. Watch the short video above.
2. Post in the comments section below your thoughts on what Adam has to say about ball fitting.
3. Sit back and see if you win.
We will announce the winner later this week and you could be on your way to playing these BAD TOUR B X golf balls this coming season. For more information on the Bridgestone Golf Ball lineup, check out their website here. Good luck everybody.
I guess ball fitting is getting to be as important as club fitting. I’m “old school” and remember when your choices were 90 or 100 compression (1960’s). Maybe I need to get a little more in touch and use a ball that matches my clubs and swing.
Love the beard! Breads on smart people are a good look. A ball to fit your game sounds like a must.
It’s good to find a ball that can fit in and work in all aspects of your game, not just certain ones. No ball is going to be 100% perfect, but ball fittings will help you determine the correct one to get the most out of your game. Using the correct ball for your swing can save you strokes out on the course!
I am totally surprised ball fitting is important.
I was very interested when Adam was talking about smash factor and how with the move to softer balls could be hurting you more than you think. That is something I didn’t think about, I’m definitely going to try and find a ball fitting close to me this year.
Interesting point on how data evolves over the years, as club and ball technology evolve. Like how involved their fittings are, not just taking distance into the equation, but also looking at smash factor, launch, angle of decent, etc.
I am very happy that Bridgestone is getting back into ball fighting. And even happier that they have learned from the mountains of stat they secure over the year with the 1000s of ball fittings. I think golfers owe it to themselves to get fit and see what’s what.
Their R&D is so smart to rely on compiled accurate data in the development and design of their golf balls.
They must be doing something incredibly right to secure the talent they have playing Bridgestones. Those guys know effective and productive equipment. I would be anxious to play them.
Anxious to play their new golf balls.
I’m glad they moved away from fitting for “driver”. Excited about how they will do with the more comprehensive fitting. Should go a long way to getting these balls in players bags.
Adam has the same haircut as me! I started using Bridgestone balls years ago after a friend did a fitting. I used their online fitting at the time and been hooked ever since. They make a great product which always seem to improve every season. Excited that ball fitting is coming back.
Ready to be fitted for my ball.
Love the Bridestones, last entry in….first winner picked?
I absolutely LOVE the fact that Bridgestone is bringing back the ball fitting. It’s actually mind boggling , to me, that ball fitting isn’t more prominent in an industry where people are tweaking swing weights, shaft stiffness and length, and a plethora of data ranging from launch angles, to spin rates, to smash factors, etc., yet, I would guess, plays the ball that just “feels right” for their game. That’s not to say that most avid golfers are flippant about their ball choice (quite the opposite, I would guess), and some my actually test one ball against others on a trackman type of device. But, when it was noted in the video that 70% of golfers are playing the wrong ball for their game, it just solidified, for me, that ball fitting should be just as prominent in an avid golfers evaluation as the fittings for their irons, drivers, etc. Also important is the fact that Bridgestone is taking this fitting concept to the levels that it actually should. Many manufacturers are quick to champion the overall distance of their ball and tout the greenside spin of their premium offerings. Bridgestone is now including a fitting that includes numbers other clubs than just your driver to customize this fitting to your WHOLE game (including greenside). A more comprehensive fitting is just what the doctor ordered (IMHO). Let’s face it, high handicap, low handicap,(it doesn’t really matter) most of us have a certain level of vanity that goes into every golf purchase we make. I’m a 28.6 handicap. My ball purchases are made from a buffet line of different reasons. I love ChromeSoft balls. I love the way they feel coming off my irons Ditto for ProV1. I never bought Bridgestone B330. But , when I found them and played them, I loved them (and I had no idea that they were a premium ball at the time). I also love the lower compression (and priced) SuperSofts. I buy Srixon Q-stars when I travel to an area that carries them (never would have tried them if I hadn’t been given the opportunity byt THP to test them). But, in all honesty, I have NO Idea what ball is actually best for my game. I would love to take part in a fitting by Bridgestone actually get some cold hard data about what TYPE of ball I should actually be playing. It’s hard to believe that other ball manufacturers didn’t pick up the ball (no pun intended) when Bridgestone abandoned the concept. It left a void that Bridgestone (smartly) filled right back up. Great move for the company and golfers in general.
Thank you to THP and Bridgestone for this opportunity. Kudos all the way around.
Lie the information about the golf balls. Would like to see how all other balls fair against these. I like how he talked about how optimization is key for players playing. The ball stays stationary and the only way to get the ball flight on the right is to hit it in the sweet spot. Would love trying these balls and then I can give you my feel on them.
I love how he talked about optimizing the ball choice for you rather than just getting you the most distance. This is so important with clubs as well. As a fitter, I can give everyone the lowest spinning head and loft it up to get high launch, low spin but not everyone needs that. There is a nice balance for everyone and I’m so glad he touched on that and mentioned that sometimes taking away some distance is more beneficial.
AWESOME VIDEO!!! I never even knew there was such a thing as ball fitting. Very informative video! If I can find a ball that can keep me on the course that would be so fantastic. So many times my ball goes off the course. It doesn’t help that I a, a beginner golfer and I suck! LOL. I need any help I can get. I would love to try some E12’s. So much technology put into these balls. WOW, 12 years of data put into these bad boys. Speed matters! Interesting! I agree that distance isn’t as important as keeping your ball on the green. So many golfers are worried about how far they can hit the ball but how far and straight you can hit it are more important. I would really, really, really like to win these!! I need all the help I can get in my golf game! PUT ME BACK IN THE GAME COACH! HAHAHA

I am a full believer ball fitting is as important as club fitting . Looking for more spin for better control.
I am a full believer ball fitting is as important as club fitting especially where spin for control.
That video was very interesting! I have never been fitted for a golf ball and am anxious to do so.
I like that they use your current ball and optimize the driver first. Then they move to an 8 iron to fine tune the ball to match your game or lack thereof. Knowing that the catalysts and surfactants have been tested gives me the confidence needed to hit it more better.
Great to hear that ball fittings are coming back. Having been fitted by Bridgestone previously, it’s worth attending an event if they are near you. I am also excited they are doing a more comprehensive fitting where they are not just looking at driver but mid irons as well.
Ball fitting is something that I have never really given much thought to. On one hand, people get for for clubs based on launch and spin conditions. Why not the ball too. On the other hand, I have never really noticed much if a difference between any tour quality golf balls other than feel. Some seem to bite a little harder than others, but I haven’t noticed my peak heights or launch changing.
Interested in the kind of results people see and would consider it should it be made available in these parts.
Finally a golf ball that doesnt just measure your driver. Bridgestone keeps impressing and Adam does a great job making it understandable.
Bridgestone owns ball fitting – they were the first well done!
Every year I try something new and every year I end up going back to a ProV. Can success be a factor in ball fitting?
Enjoyed this video and will be giving Bridgestone this year.
Bridgestone’s fitting concept is what brought me to the brand originally. It’s good to see them go back to fittings. The right ball can have a positive impact on your game the same as the right club head or shaft.
I think it is awesome that Bridgestone has add the 8 iron and greenside play to their ball fitting process
I like they are including driver and 8 iron in the testing.
I was glad to hear Adam talk about using irons and different clubs during a fitting.
It is great that someone is now going to use more than a driver to determine ball fit.
I believe ball fitting is important, I had mine analyzed an changed what I was using sn gained many yards an acquricy
Getting fit is critical for clubs, why would the ball be any different? Would love to give these balls a thorough testing. Thanks for the great contest!
This video might have just changed how I view buying golf balls. The right fit seems to make a big difference after all. I like how you compare the ball people are used to playing vs your bridgestone and how you don’t just talk about driver distance. Also sweet Beard!
I’m a believer that more information about your golf game is for the best. I went through a ball fitting with Bridgestone and loved the result.
I was fitted a few years ago with RX330. Great ball. I would love to get fitted again. Glad the hear Bridgestone is bringing back ball fittings. Hopefully they will be st our golf show in March
I have never given any thought to the ball I play. I currently play the cheap Kirkland 3 piece ball, it feels good and plays well. Or I play the random ball I find. Adam talked about the amount of data they have collected and how it’s used to fit the customer for the correct ball. He also stated that most golfers are playing the wrong ball. I think I could really benefit from a fitting by Bridgestone as could about 70% of the golfers.
Confidence your golf ball will help you play your best is the most important part in golf ball selection. You need to feel good about each shot before you take it. That’s why I always invest in good golf ball technology and can therefore never doubt the ball.
As a 75 yr. old golfer who last year went to single length irons and love them i’d like to try this new ball. As you stated distance is important but accuracy around the greens is where you score. I play the E-6 ball and like it, but would be pleased to try another ball. thanks for the opportunity.
Ball fitting is so important, but it is hard to sample lots of different balls so this fitting at least offers some guidance. Although, I do feel the short game is the most important part of choosing a ball.
Ball fitting is very important, glad to know some of the science behind it
I like how he assumes we all play the ball because we like it off the shelf. Sometimes I’m playing a ball because it’s the one I found in the woods. In all seriousness, I never thought about ball fitting much, but now I am.
You guys are making it hard not make the switch
