New limited edition release for Vokey Design in the way of a finish option. Earlier in the year, Cameron Smith won the Sony playing all-black SM8 wedges and now is the time you can get your hands on some.

This limited release features a Jet Black raw finish with a black paint fill to complete the murdered out dark look. Each SM8 is then complimented with a True Temper Dynamic Golf S200 Black Onyx shaft and exclusive Golf Pride New Decade Multi Compound Black/Gray grip with the iconic BV Wings logo.
“I’ve been stocking more and more Jet Black heads on the Tour Van each year,” said Vokey Tour Representative Aaron Dill. “Players love the look of it, and the contrast you get when you add custom stamping and paintfill – it just pops. Jet Black also helps players reduce glare on those really bright days. When you add in the black shaft and grip, it’s a sharp setup.”

The Details
In Stores: August 28th
Lofts/Grinds: All 23 in both RH and LH are available.
Cost: $179

These are quite the treat. Not sure I like these over the satin look with the chrome highlight. I agree with stamping this is going to be a standout.
I really like the matte black. Great look!
Love this look.
I dont quite get the black wedge thing myself. I want to be able to clearly see the face of the club and where I’m aiming it. The lines of black wedges can become difficult to see in thicker rough etc.. To each their own.
I really like this release! Any information on how the finish is applied to the wedge? Is a “coating” or a “blended compound” like DBM?
I’m a fan.
They’re good looking. I’m in the camp of if your club heads are black you should have black shafts too. Glad to see they went with the [S]murdered out[/S] dark look on them.

Its in the article haha.
Its a black finish on a raw wedge, so it will wear.
I just want another blue offering. Those are my favorite clubs to imagine buying even though I never actually buy one.
Love the black out look , but have to focus to hard to square the face for my eyes.
Good looking wedge, but I think I will hold off until I see some wear pictures.
I saw this email in my inbox this morning and I’d be lying if I haven’t already designed a 48/10 F wedge. so tempting
There is a bit of a hack with the jet black. With the sm7 you could take them, soak them in vinegar and strip off the black and you had raw wedges without the raw up charge.
I was really confused when I saw these this past weekend because I didn’t know they came in jet black. But everything makes sense now! These look good.
I like the look
Those look really good! And will still look awesome when the black wears off the rust starts showing,
This is as close as it gets to club porn for me. Sexy.
Definitely looks like something i could use….

I think you are probably right here. I went from a guy that loves rust to one that is not a fan for some reason. But yet I love the jet black look of these.

I didn’t think about this when ordering mine. I’ll try to get a comparison between the new 49* and the old 50* to see how much of a difference it makes. One of the reasons I went with the black is to reduce the glare from the sun when looking down.
The jet black finish on these looks amazing. I’m not sure I can or will ever go back to a chrome or satin finish.
These are just down right sexy. Definitely going to consider them.
Black wedges always look good but these look incredible with the entire thing being blacked out!. Add the shaft and the grip…
One word: SEXY
I really like the look of these. They almost look “sticky” !
the black look is really good – but still waiting for them to find a way to keep this color from scratching up as most do quite quickly…

The DBM options on the market do not really wear all that much. Not a ton of them, but they exist.
These things look so freaking good!!
If I can help it, I prefer all black wedges so these look realllllly good to me.
Love the look. Absolutely gorgeous. If I could though, I would change the shafts I think.
Wicked awesome ??
Two of my three Vokey SM8s were ordered jet black with the black onyx shafts. When they arrive ill post a bunch of pictures as well as wear.
Really like the look of these
Wow those look good
Black isn’t my favorite, but boy do these look mean ?
Those look awesome. Can some one tell me what’s the difference between a S200, S300, and so on?
Im not an all black guy……I like bling and shine.

I just got in my first SM8 with the Jet black finish and will be using it. I’ll try to get a few pics here in a week or two.
I love the black on black – I have never had a set of Vokey wedges but these would do nicely.

I am totally with you here. I love the rust look, but I cringe every time I clean them because it makes the towel a mess.
These wedges are so good. From the coating to the grip, it’s just sharp.
These look really really good….
Wear is always my concern with black clubs though.
http://www.zalez24.com – it’s perffect projectt where you can get accquainted with peop1e on1y for sseex
Mine arrived yesterday: 48F with Project X LZ. Cool Vokey Wings grip too.

These look outstanding in hand, the black head and black shaft is ?
At work so I don’t have any pictures but it was on my mind. So far I’ve been happy with the durability of the Jet Black finish. From a distance they still look almost new. I do notice a little lighter color, mostly if there is a little glare, from the bottom of the face. A little of this probably has to do with having to use a wire brush to clean the grooves. I try to limit it as much as I can but we have a very dense clay like mud that will not come out of the groves without. I’ll see about getting some pics after work.

I noticed this as well with these. I don’t recall doing it near as much with my SM7’s. I have also noticed it much more on the dozen ProV1x that we received from Titleist. I’ve saved them for tournament rounds and have noticed that they seem to get 2-3 small little cuts from the grooves. Not sure if it’s the covers or just the fact that for some reason I have hit a few more really crisp clean wedge shots with them. Could be just a coincidence because of that.
