2014 Winter Olympics - Sochi, Russia

Well we did a great job on the lighting. Way to go PRG

Athletes will fill those seats

Yeah I just heard that. I hope PRG didn't do the lighting of the Olympic rings where only 4 lit up.. Haha

Just turning on the opening ceremonies.

Disney junior....for now

There is no shortage of kit in Sochi leading the pack are PRG products:
4 V676 consoles
2 V476 consoles
120 Best Boy
365 Bad Boy
75 Super and Node Plus
310 DMX Universes
All being run on our new S400 Fiber network with kilometers of Opticore cable plus hundreds and hundreds of other fixtures, along with Scenic networks all being controlled from our network.

Front and center manning the consoles are old faces, Ross Williams and Mike “Oz” Owen with Chris Henry attending to the 29 followspots. Chris has had to learn some Russian on the fly!

This has been a true Pan European project with staff/sales/project management/logistics/scheduling and kit coming from both depots as only PRG could do.

Working in the background to support Sochi have been Bill Martin in the UK and Hannes Wahl in Germany along with Anja Sanderson and Doreen Thielemann managing crew travel and visa’s, no small task with only 90 day visa’s granted. Juggling freight and customs ongoing requirements have been Juergen Gleba and Bill Bean.

Only two weeks away the Closing ceremonies will take place and quickly into the Paralympics Ceremonies.

The Medal Ceremonies are also being supplied by PRG in the Olympic Plaza zone close to the stadium and by the Olympic flame.

From NFL Half time in New York to Winter Olympics in Sochi Russia all in one week, this is truly “See What We Can Do”!

That Venezuelan dude was pretty legit. He had more energy than every other team combined so far.

Kinda sucks that Obama didn't go to at least to the opening ceremonies.

Who are the people walking that are not athletes or flag bearers? I've seen a couple countries that have one or two athletes but there are 5-7 people walking.

Coaches or trainers would be my guess.

I wonder if all the people on their phones are on THP.

Only up to Germany on my TV. They are the winners of the ugly outfits at this point.

Ireland's outfits are not a lot better.

Agreed, more than the dancers standing around all night.

Based on some of the outfits, definitely don't want to see the What's in the Closet thread if they were

1000 years of Russian History. Not shown, 70 years of oppressive Socialist rule

If as they say, there aren't any gay people in Sochi, why are there two guys dancing ballet together? hehehe

Their support team, like trainers, equipment people and coaches, I believe.

That was a cool Olympic Flame lighting.

This is definitely going to be an interesting Olympics.

Definitely looking forward to the games. All the political bs? Not so much.

I thought the Thai athlete's outfit looked good. Then again I'm partial to yoga pants.

I thought the Opening Ceremonies were pretty enjoyable to watch on TV. Obviously a lot of pro-Russia revisionist history, but every country shows themselves in the most positive lights during these things.

The real star of the show was that projection system for the floor. Absolutely incredible the things they were doing there to support the elements of the show.
