2014 Masters Contest & Official THP Thread

Man. Only had 4 make the cut this week. Got Couples and Streelman in contention though.

I have the coverage DVR'ed today and look forward to watching it later tonight after some golf with THPers.

Guys I'd love to see win: Kuchar, Sneds, Couples, Furyk. Edit: adding Blixt. Would be cool to see Jonas win as well.

I was impressed with how Adam fought back to -3 yesterday. I think he takes back to back with a win this year.

There are 7 THPers that picked Bubba Watson.

It's moving day! Time to see who will stay the course, make a move, and those who will fall. I am hoping for a big day for some Callaway guys.

Will be really interesting to see how he handles playing with the 36 hole lead today. Not positive but it seems I heard that all of his professional wins came when he didn't have the 54 hole lead.

I think he'll come back to the field a bit today.

i just read that he's only won once when he had the 36 hole lead. My guess is that the pressure gets to him.

I lost three of my 8 picks yesterday. I lost three players that I thought would contend well, Zach J., English Harris, and Patrick Reed.

Round 3 hole locations are below. 11 and 12 look to be in the easiest positions on the greens in terms of the approach/tee shots. On the other hand, 16 is a tough shot with the pin front right. Also, someone today will make eagle on 2 with that pin position.

#3 and #4 are both tough spots too. Here that there is little wind forecast today so that should be a help.

The powers have set up pins that should provide some birdie potential for sure. 6, 14, and 15 are also favorable from a perspective of using slopes to get to them.

Bubba will fade sometime between now and Sunday night.
It's Adam Scott's to lose I think. It's all on his putter.
Im pulling for Fred Couples and Brant Snedeker.
Snedeker and Jimmy Walker are my dark horses that arent getting much press so far, which is an advantage I think.
Love Spieth, but think the no first time winner / lack of experience will get him over the weekend.

Adam bouncing back yesterday was huge and puts him in exactly the same position he was in last year. He is usually good for one ho hum round every major and I am hoping that was it (not that E is ho hum at Augusta). I'm looking at that leaderboard and I'm only seeing him as the name able to charge Watson and be there if he stumbles. I think Freddie will unfortunately fade today. I think inexperience will catch Blixt, Spieth and Senden. Big difference between Augusta Thurs/Fri to Sat/Sun. Scott's in prime position and it will be either him or Watson winning on Sunday. And it'll be tight I think.

I was very surprised going thru the names that missed the cut. Not too long ago DJ was going to chase Tiger's record...

11 of 24 first timers made the cut...

T3. Jonas Blixt
T3. Jordan Spieth
T7. Jimmy Walker
T10. Stephen Gallacher
T10. Kevin Stadler
T26. Steven Bowditch
T26. Brendon de Jonge
T37. Oliver Goss(a)
T37. Chris Kirk
T37. Billy Horschel
T46. Joost Luiten

Woodland starts Birdie-Eagle to get right back to Even.

My fantasy team got eaten alive yesterday. I only have 3 left but they are Watson, Scott, and Westwood so I have a chance at having a good week still.

Woodland birdies 6...-4 for the day already and -1 for the tournament.

Poulter and Fowler both 2 under on the day through 3 holes...both back to even par.

He could have been a serious factor if he hadn't bogeyed the last four holes yesterday.

Birdied the Par 5, 8th...-2 for the Tournament, -5 for the Day.
