Cobra KING F9 SPEEDBACK Fairway Woods

These look crazy good!

I have a quick question. Can you see the milled face at address? I sometimes struggle during the round with setting up the ball in the center of club face, if you can see the milling then that would help me out a ton along with the tech involved with this lineup. ( i apologize if this has been covered)

Looking down at setup, you can kind of see it. Part of that will be based on head placement (meaning further back or centered). I think you could use it somewhat though.

I really like the look of the F9 line of Driver and FW....

Thanks for the info!

F9 looks to be an incredible line, but this is where I think they're most likely to take my money.

To borrow someone else's quote - there are fairway woods and there are fairway woods. This is the later.

Hit this on the range a few times today, never got a yardage where I needed it on the course. Stock shaft and setup make it super easy to launch this one. Beautiful feel, sound, and a very easy to play ball flight out of it.

wardy hit this one well. i struggled with it a little. would like to spend more time. looks good, just can’t really comment on performance in the few swings i took.

Similar sound / feel to the F8 model?

I didn’t have much interaction with the F8 line, maybe @c.a.eleric can answer that?

Ok, this whole F9 line is awesome. Love the looks of this just as I love the looks of the irons and driver!

kind of a blend between ltd and f8

That can’t be bad.

Let’s say hypothetically that someone hits behind the ball with their fairway wood a lot. Not me, of course, but a guy I know. Baffler rails I’m sure help, but does the new shape take away that forgiveness at all?

i can’t say because the swings i took with this were subpar. for whatever it’s worth, i was hitting my gamer ok on the range without this same inconsistency. maybe a shaft fit but who knows. i didn’t have very good stuff today.

I have the F9 5-6 Fairway Wood in for review and wanted to share some photos before I really dive into the on course thoughts I have.

There's a lot to capture on the sole of this fairway wood. Baffler carryover with awesome rails that run front to back, which to my understanding is less aggressive the lower the loft gets which makes a lot of sense. A 15 gram weight sits at the back of the head

Cobra also brings the CNC milling tech to the fairways for the first time.

And similar to the driver, we've got solid alignment aid presence on the topline, with some aerodynamic, carbon, and structural features present;

And finally, similar to the driver, great references to CNC milled in the headcover, strong presence of quality with Atmos Blue shaft, MyFly technology, and Cobra Connect.

Looks really good. Can't wait to hear your remarks.

Thats looks awesome... The face looks very shallow to me which is cool.

Great looking club, the entire F9 lineup looks solid, looking forward to giving them a shot in the new year. In the meantime, I'll continue to follow thr reviews. Keep up the good work.

Are the fairway weights and driver weights interchangeable?

They haven’t been in the past, wondering if that changed.

As others have mentioned CNC milled face in the fairways is huge!!!

I know the HZRDUS Smoke is a stock shaft but anyone else think the HZRDUS Yellow or Red would look straight killer in one of the yellow heads?

I may have thought about the yellow in the yellow once or twice. Today. And yesterday.

That is one sexy fairway wood.

This review will be super interesting with the new tech in this FW. Definitely interested to see how you got along with the rails and what your thoughts are on the new face in the smaller package.

Another club that I was able to get in hand and at address yesterday however was not able to swing them.

The Tour is not that much smaller than the regular fairway - i really liked the looks of both

I think it would come down to performance for me if the reg fairway is high launch and gives me the opportunity to hold more greens I think that would be the deciding factor for me.

I only play 1 fairway wood and I like it in the 17* range with a 3wood shaft to give me the off deck distance playability into long par 4s and par 5s

I played the f8+ and I think I want to go to f9 instead of the tour next year. The forward weight was nice when playing as a 4 wood with a short shaft, but playing a strong 3 I really wanted a little extra forgiveness.

I'm thinking 2019 will bring with it a new fairway wood set-up, and the F9 5-6 wood is sitting pretty at the top of the list. Curious if it comes off a little faster than previous Cobra woods due to the CNC milling. Since I'm only going to go with one fairway wood, there has to be a good combo of playability and distance, if that makes sense.
