DFW & Surrounding Area Chat Thread

Hey guys. Sorry for a very quick OT post.

My sister just moved to DFW area, more FW actually. She is looking for a job.

She would be a very professional representative for any company. Has experience in Office Management, Real estate and Title Work as well as the medical field on the administration side.

If any of you know of any good leads or opportunities she should check out, I'd appreciate a PM with the info, as to not go off topic here.

She loves the area so far. Says the people are the nicest and most hospitable she has ever seen, and oh yeah she wouldn't mind meeting an available cowboy as well.

I told her maybe TBD has some single friends :)

Tks guys

lol.. She would have to like going to a country bar

I am so ready to swing my clubs again! I have two more days of getting everything in the new place. Today more moving things from storage that we can get out of the movers way then they come tomorrow to move the big things! I get internet and TV on Tuesday. Wednesday if it's not raining I hope to go play nine just to see if I can even swing a club. May have to go to the chiropractor first though

I think she'd love it.

Well let me know when and I will introduce her to Shannon and she will make her feel right at home so she could got out with us sometime.

And that's how we do things in Texas!
I wouldn't even have mentioned to her I was going to reach out to you guys, if I didn't think for one instance you'd try to help in whatever way you can.

I appreciate that Phil. She's a bit older than you guys, early 60's but she got the great family genes, looks better than any of her younger siblings..including most definitely myself.

But I'll pass on your offer to her, much appreciated.

Finally getting to gather myself from a crummy weekend. Just turned on the golf tournament and watching Poulter absolutely collapse.
Got to say that I too am so looking forward to next weekend. I feel like its been a month since I have touched my clubs.
Glad to hear the move is going semi smoothly Phil. Get settled in and lets go play some damn golf.

I will be ready to for sure!

I can't wait for next weekend. Never played Cowboys before.

Anyone else see the ideal deal on TPC Four Seasons at Las Colinas?

I did see that. $129 is steep (for me) but undoubtedly worth it I would have to think.

I thought about grabbing it but unsure when I could use it. I've always wanted to play there

I saw it this morning and thought about it. Just could not figure out when I would be able to get out and use it.
Would love to get on the course sometime and see it for myself.

If a few people wanted to to do it I could do it the Sunday after the UST event. I really want to play it, but unsure on the price. I know it is a solid deal though

Its steep, but its also one of "those" courses for me I would just love to play.

Agreed James. That Sunday will be the only day I can do it but I would do it if others were planning on it

Happy Texas Independence Day folks!

Commandancy
of the The Alamo

Bejar,
Feby. 24th. 1836

To
the People of Texas & All Americans in the World-

Fellow
Citizens & compatriots-

I
am besieged, by a thousand or more of the Mexicans under Santa Anna - I have
sustained a continual Bombardment & cannonade for 24 hours & have not
lost a man - The enemy has demanded a surrender at discretion, otherwise, the
garrison are to be put to the sword, if the fort is taken - I have answered the
demand with a cannon shot, & our flag still waves proudly from the walls -
I shall never surrender or retreat.
Then, I call on you in the name of Liberty, of patriotism &
everything dear to the American character, to come to our aid, with all
dispatch - The enemy is receiving reinforcements daily & will no doubt
increase to three or four thousand in four or five days. If this call is neglected, I am determined to
sustain myself as long as possible & die like a soldier who never forgets
what is due to his own honor & that of his country - Victory or Death.

William
Barret Travis.

Lt.
Col.comdt.

P.
S. The Lord is on our side - When the
enemy appeared in sight we had not three bushels of corn - We have since found
in deserted houses 80 or 90 bushels and got into the walls 20 or 30 head of
Beeves.
