Good point. I think I'm mentally preparing myself for my most hated season. I need to move South.
These are my latest pair. I bought the darker color for work

I think those are a great first pair for you. Both of mine are light colored. My next one will be a darker color, maybe a heathered look like that.
Don't overthink it and go those bottom plaid (are you a lumber Jack?) Or two tone ( this isn't the 90s anymore)!
You need some, absolutely amazingly phenomenally comfortable.
