Well wasn't a lot of choice at the music store, and they were a bit pricey... But yea I did some things.

First, as much as I love the shape, traded in the epi SG, just got a bad one from the factory I think, intonation was a pain and fret buzz sucked.

Got another electric, and an acoustic electric.

Both cheaper ones, but the sounded good, and I couldn't see any defects.

First, the electric a Fender Squier Strat bullet in sunburst.

A cheaper squier, but j looks good and sound good from what I've played around with it so far.

Second a Takamine Jasmine JD-36ce unfortunately they didn't have a natural one they only had black. So that's what I got.

Again, so far it sounds great. I think I might put lighter string on it though. I don't know yet.

So I've been playing around so far. And I like it.

I also bought a couple of books, Hall Leonard Guitar books to follow and use to Learn.

Haven't gotten it recorded yet, unfortunately. Seems the world is full of bedroom producers who can mimic any guitar tone at will, but very few keyboardists who can play 1930's ragtime.

Call the music department at a local college and see if they can hook you up with some students or let you know where you can advertise.

Fingers hurt, good lord, everyone but the pinky.

Also they're fat and getting in the way.... Dang them. Haha

Something about stage lighting makes my guitar's character come out

Well, I'm enjoying a renewed interest in learning. It's a lot easier to pick of the acoustic and just play then to grab the electric and plug it in and stuff.

Look into any sort of vaudeville revival or dinner theater type of places. There's 3 or 4 different guys at our local vaudeville joint that play that style. I dunno how prevalent those places are though.

With the lack of snow, I've been occupying myself with music again. I picked up a 25-key AKAI midi controller to do bass lines and accents with my acoustic and rock stuff but I'm discovering the sonic possibilities or that little sucker. I spent all weekend pushing keys and buttons and making all kinds of beeps and boops and ended up turning an acoustic song I wrote into a dreamy electro-pop thing. Was really fun doing. Take a listen if ya like and hope ya enjoy

Dude, I like that. Nicely done.

I'm working on a couple acoustic things I want to record while I have my amp needing repair. I need to spend more time and get them polished and recorded.

Awesome, man! Would love to hear it when you get it all done

Dude I love that! I dig messing around with stuff, a few years back I did a slowcore collab with a friend of mine who laid down awesome female harmonies. All the songs came about just from doing weird delay and massive compressed reverb through my old Vox amp.

Haven't picked up a guitar in about 6 years, but here's a few covers I did back in the '05-'06 range:

https://app.box.com/s/qktzqatsuqe346cuuek0 Today by Smashing Pumpkins
https://app.box.com/s/g43f1wdlpgebc0tzy2kv Resist by Rush
https://app.box.com/s/u9tgvug5nuk9ynnih95z Old Man by Neil Young

I dig 'em! A bit of a travesty to have programmed drums on a Rush tune, but you get by with what you've got :) There have been a few times I've had to resort to programming when I couldn't set my kit up, or get a good recorded mix of it.

Thanks! Pretty cool that you had a Vox for that stuff. I can't think of a better amp for spacey guitar lines. You got that stuff around for a listen?

Yeah. Couple reasons for that. One, I was kind of trying to keep my garage band feel. Two, I'm not nearly confident enough on drums to tackle a Neil Peart song.

Sure, you can hear the album on Bandcamp. If you can get over my terrible vocals, it's not too bad ;) The Vox was one of the original Valvetronic models, so not quite an AC30 but it definitely did the job. We worked on these songs back and forth over a few years, then released it to benefit This Star Won't Go Out, a charity here in MA that helps financially support families who's kids are undergoing cancer treatment.

I hear that. I spent the bulk of my teen years playing along to Rush songs to build up my chops, nowadays I'll sit behind my e-kit and put on All The World's A Stage and just fall apart all over the place :D

I play guitar and do some singing with a few bands as well as a trubadour, one of my bands where I play the guitar will release our 6:th album later this month and here is the first single/video (I am the one playing V-guitar in the video).

I play mostly hardrock, but also I have a country band which I will give some focus now this spring

Cool, thanks!

Good stuff, I definitely dig the hell out of it!

Just restrung the acoustic. Elixir polymers.

I need a restring bad. None of my guitars have been restrung since mid last year, and it's been even longer than that since I restrung my 7... :banghead:

I put elixir polymers extra lights (.010-.042) on it. Makes it much easier to play. Haha.

Wow, yeah .042 is real light. I vacillate between 0.47 and 0.52 depending on how much I've been playing haha.

Yea, haha. I just figured it would be easier to learn on, and a bit easier on the fingers.
