The Beer Thread

You can't go talking about Heady Topper Tim. It's basically just an imaginary beer for most of us :(

My big score over the weekend was finding Founders All Day IPA in cans. Yes, cans and yes it was awesome. Then I got very, very sick and couldn't drink it all. I will be back!

Dude- even here it's like an awesome hoppy boogeyman myth. I didn't think they really existed until I had one haha

That stuff is amazingly good.
 
I just picked up a growler of Minotaur Triple IPA from Progress Brewing in El Monte, CA. One of the best IPA's I've tasted and at 11.6% I get in a good mood pretty quickly. The brewery is a very relaxed place with the regulars being a mix of cholos and hipsters. And if you like your ladies Latina and tattooed then I say welcome fellow traveler!

Other beers in the rotation are

Drake's Denogginizer
Lagunitas Hop Stoopid
Green Flash Palate Wrecker

and whatever my former boss is brewing up. He usually has 4-5 different beers available. The owner of my local craft beer liquor is always trying to get me to try new things but I am a creature of habit.

I still have a soft spot for Redhook because my former boss took me on a tour when I was 18 and I wasn't carded and had my first experience with a beer that WASN'T Lucky Lager.
 
Got an amazing gift from my In Laws for the holidays. Can't wait to get started trying all these beers.

Deep Ellum IPA which is local to Dallas then busting out the limited edition Crown Town Ale later
 
You also get these sheets that detail each Brewery and beer that you are receiving. Pretty cool

Got this today from the wine/craft beer shop near my office. Owner said it was limited run from a Brewery in Worcester, MA and it's fantastic! Coffee stout, great finishing notes, very smooth.
 
It's beginning to taste a lot like Christmas...

The other night I had a new holland dragons milk and it was absolutely amazing.

Wasn't exactly the "English style ale" they claimed it was but amazing none the less .

I think it's like 11% abv

Had three different beers from Mission Brewery out of San Diego. An IPA, a red ale and a Russian Stout. All three were the bee's knees.
 
Having the Stone "Enjoy By 12-26-14" IPA. Just in time. These are somewhat hard to come by around here, so I'm always happy when I can get a couple bottles.

Excellent taste and not too heavy for an IPA.
 
Going to be learning the art of craft-brewing tonight. Starting as assistant brewer for a Honey Weiss home brew this evening.
