An interesting point, however I'll make a point in saying they are a positive distraction any time I'm ever indulging in one.

I get so wrapped up in the Cigar, I forget to worry about my golf game, and that's usually a good thing haha!

I dont a lot but on the right occasion I like one on the course. I actually like something smaller/thinner and have 2 than something bigger that ive found i would have to relight multiple times so that gets annoying.

I'm with Canadan the only distraction is me from my game and I will relax, play faster and better(occasionally).

I will always ask my cart partner before lighting up out of courtesy, I'm mindful of where I ash and where my smoke goes.

I smoke most of the time I play, I used to smoke 3 to 4 a day when I worked and now that I'm retired most of the time I get to smoke is when I'm playing so I'll usually have one on the front and one on the back.

I smoke 2 or 3 just about every time on the course. My current favorites:

• Jaime Garcia Reserva Toro (Best sub $6 cigar in my rotation - I always have a box on hand).
• Liga Privada T52 Toro (not as good as they were a couple of years ago - JD Drew is slipping).
• Tatuaje Verocu #9 (It's a Holt's Exclusive and my favorite Red Label Tatuaje - http://www.holts.com/category.html?id=202027&trail=86665 Occasionally on sale for less than $100 for 20)
• Eddie Ortega Serie D No 10 Natural (I am a big fan of any EO Cigar - loved the Wild Bunch Island Jim but it's not available any more)
• Davidoff Nicaragua Toro - I'm a full bodied cigar guy so it's nice to have something from Davidoff with Nicaraguan Tobacco.
• Davidoff Winston Churchill Toro - I never liked the Winston Churchill line but the new blends under the Davidoff name are excellent.
• My Father Cedro Deluxe Eminentes - I LOVE the whole My Father line and this one is the one I keep going back to - this or the My Father Le Bijou Toro.

I use to chase LE cigars so much but I find myself gravitating back to these blends.

My biggest fear of being a single this week in Scottsdale is the other people I am playing with hate cigars. Of course I will respect their wishes.

As a Cigar smoker I fully understand they smell and quite frankly if I am not smoking one I do not like the smell either, but being outside in the wind and unless you are right on top of someone how can it be that big a distraction?

Gurkha is a weird brand to me. Very expensive, but they have some blends that just do not work. I feel like for every one they have that's a hit, they have one that's just not good. One of my favorite cigars I've ever had though was a Gurkha though, the Gurkha Beast.

Why would someone, in their second post on Hackers Paradise, post to a cigar thread and request cigar smokers to stop smoking on the course? Maybe a Troll in progress? I think if cigar smoke is distracting, there are a lot more issues going on in someone's game!
