Like i've said before, I loved the Prov1x but at 50 per dozen, I'd rather go with the TP5 because it's 35 at sprawlmart

Yeah me too, I think the Hex black is another great ball that in my opinion is on par or even better than the prov1 series, also the B-330 RX is great since I can take advantage of the compression, I have no problem spending big bucks on clubs but for some reason I can't do 50 on golf balls

haha. I agree. After hitting the B330, I don't know if I can get away from it. The thing I don't like about the ProV1 is that they get chewed up so easily.

Yeah, some of my favorite rounds have been with the Prov1x except that after about one or two holes the cover was use chewed up too badly

Great question, personally I prefer the MC2 over the Cohiba because of price and flavor, but the lighter wrapper and filler in the MC2 fits my style. Those who like a spicier blend tend to lean towards Cohibas.

I'm a ball snob and 99% of the time I play a "tour" ball. I can honestly say that so far this year I haven't really been disappointed by any tour ball that I've used this year. I think each of them have their strengths and weaknesses, however I also think for me they all played pretty close to each other.

My favorite ball this year and honestly one I was surprised the most by, was the Srixon Z-Star. It was about 5-10 yards shorter off the tee for me (Pro V1x, Hex Black, B-330 and TP5 all right around the same driver distance for me), but man the control around the greens is pretty hard to beat. In fairness I realize that the Z-Star is a lot more of a spin ball than the others I've played so that loss of distance didn't shock me at all. I also loved the durability of the Z-Star, it was right up there with and perhaps exceeding the B-330's durability for me.

However, out of all the balls I've tested there was only 1 that I wasn't able to get through a full 18 holes without replacing, and that was the Hex Black, I just cut the crap out of that ball for some reason. I'm just not a fan of paying $4 for a ball that can't last a full 18 holes.

With regards to the Pro V1x being the best ball ever? That's like claiming a certain driver or wedge is the best ever. It's all subjective.

Oh that's another ball I had some great rounds with, the Srixon Z star. I still have a sleeve left that I need to use up

Last year's Penta is down to $27.99 online @ Walmart!!

I went into the local store to buy them and they were listed at $34.99. I went to customer service and asked them why they were priced differently and if I could buy them for the online price? They said they don't usually do that so I offered to buy them online with my phone and select in store pickup. They called a manager who said to just sell them to me for the online price because I couldn't remember if it was $24 or $27. I just picked up two dozen for $24 each because they didn't feel ike checking! :)

That's awesome, it's really a great ball in my opinion and it was loads more durable than the Prov1x that I played for so long

Yeah, I almost bought 3 dozen but 2 will get me through this year. I switch to cheap balls in the fall because I tend to lose a lot because of all of the leaves.

In my opinion, the Penta is the best ball I've found in 15 years. The ProV's are great balls but I never loved them. I always felt they were more of a "smush" feel when I prefer a "click". I wish Maxfli have never stopped making the Revolution. That 3 piece ball was awesome. When they stopped making that one I went to the Precept EV which was also fantastic for a two piece ball. I've been wallowing in ball oblivion since.......
