Really soaks that chili flavor right into the onions.

Awesome. GG and I were just talking about chili.

Going to make white chicken chili for dinner tonight

Wonderful!!! Chili definitely on the menu tomorrow now!

Now chili sounds like an excellent idea.

I like to add sausage to my chili. Will add both sweet and spicy give it a try some time.

I have done this as well and really adds a nice flavor. Wife doesn't like it though so I haven't done it in a while.

Looks delish panda!

The wife made black bean chili (same as her regular awesome chili but she realized, after the cooking began, that there were no pinto beans so went with black beans instead) a few days ago. I think I am up to about 4 large bowls of it consumed and there is enough for two more. Those will likely be packed for lunches over the next few days.

The Chili Thread

My daughter brought this recipe home for my wife. I am the cook of the family so I'm giving it a go. I got it started tonight and will slow cook it all day tomorrow (we are skipping the spaghetti)

Here's the finished product. I've never had Cincinnati chili so I don't know how close it comes. It was good. Surprising kick that gets softened by the Chocolate chips that are added at the end.

I've been on a chili kick the last 8 weeks. Probably made it 4 times in that span, using a different recipe each time.

Last night I kind of did my own thing and it turned out great. My favorite so far.
Ground beef
6oz can of corn
10oz can of Ro Tel tomatoes and chili's
Half a bottle of dark beer
Chopped yellow onion
1 can low sodium pinto beans
Publix chili mix

Made a little cornbread to serve with it. So good!

Sounds good. With the weather getting colder and football starting making a chilli has been on my mind.

Just finished mixing up my chili powder: equal parts ground ancho, chipoltle, guajillo, deArbol, and jalepeno, with 1 part ground cumin.

Then I'll mix that with Mexican oregano, granulated onion, granulated garlic (sometimes fresh chopped onion and garlic when I'm not lazy), diced tomatoes (or Ro-Tel if I can find it - it's been years since I've seen it up here) and beef broth.

Add browned meat, let simmer for a couple hours and yum!

I'll be the contrary voice here and say I prefer stewing beef cut into small cubes, but I'll also use ground beef when I'm not in the mood for being careful with a knife.

I know it's probably blasphemous to do so but I add sweet potato puree to my chili to help thicken it up. Adds a nice sweetness and color, a good balance enabling a little extra kick of heat.

Chili is happening this weekend. So much football on and nothing goes better with football than chili and beer.

I keep mine nice and simple but it always turns out good and the best part is there are always left overs!

Just made some Turkey chili the other day. Added red and orange peppers, jalapenos, carrots, zucchini and corn. With a little sour cream, hot sauce and cheese it was fantastic!! Might have to go finish it off now ?

That sounds really good and a respite from the cold weather.
