Golf season is beginning all around the country and for some that means getting their equipment ready for the course. As I just finished putting some new Lamkin grips on my clubs, it dawned on me that it is what I do each season to get ready to roll.
How often do you put fresh ones on?
I don’t play enough to do it every season, so usually every couple of years (If I even keep a club that long :p)
Usually buy new clubs before it’s necessary.
Not sure how proud of that I am.
I’m usually every 3rd season, I don’t put enough wear on my grips to do a full set every other year or even every year.
That said, I’m always trying out new/different grips on my driver it seems, so it’s not uncommon to regrip that club a few times per season.
ETA: I tend to club ho just as much as anyone else here :ROFLMAO: so if I pick up a new set of irons, especially if they’re used, I’m regripping those immediately.
I replace WAY before I should, but it’s because I like tinkering…
Usually every other year.
Annually …. when I buy new clubs. 😎

I honestly do it when needed, which is not always every year despite playing 200 – 250 rounds a year. I do a really good job of cleaning them which I have found extends their life. Have also found that properly cared for Lamkin grips last around twice as long as properly cared for GP grips, at least in my experiences.
I’m usually every other year if I have the same set
I have been regripping a lot the last couple of years as my tinker brain has been going. Changing things means new grips. Without that, it would be at least once a year for most clubs. The putter can roll for a few more years.
1-2 for my personals a year. One to test but always come back to my favorites.
I clean my grips regularly, so they stay in pretty good shape for quite a while. Usually will change them every two years or so, and that’s still more often than really needed.
Typically every other year. I do have extra on hand in case a certain club really starts get get worn down.
At least once at the beginning of the season.
I’d say every year and a halfish
I have gotten into annually re-gripoing the past few years. Like to keep things fresh.
Gosh I probably should regrip more often. Probably go a few years before I do.
Once a year-ish, but rarely the whole bag at once.
Usually once a year of I’ve played a lot prior, but at times I’ve gone longer
I scrub my grips with a course brush and soapy warm water a few times a year so I can usually get two years out of them.
Had Lamkins on my PXGs and they lasted 3 years without replacing them
the Golf Prides on my cobras needed replacement after 1/2 a season
Went back to Lamkins on my ZX5s so hoping for a couple years. Really like these so far
Every year.
Usually every other year. I do clean my grips regularly, so that helps.
Two times last year, once at beginning, once halfway to 260.
This year, one time, my rounds are way down.

My favorite grip out there right now.
I’d love to regrip every year but with how much/little I play it’s usually every 3rd season. Plus I live in MN so hardly get many months
Typically every other year, unless I want to try something new.
Every year, or when needed.
As needed… which for me is not very often – as I am not hard on grips.
I don’t play often enough to change grips on a time schedule especially with our winter season keeping me in the house for 5 months out of the year. I’ll do it when I see some wear.
Twice a year and about 3-4 times each year with my wedges, driver, and 3 wood.
I don’t know which I’m more embarrassed about: that I haven’t systematically regripped my clubs or that I haven’t played enough to warrant regripping the entire set. I have all I need sitting in my garage waiting to be used. Could happen this year.
Right now, maybe every 2 or 3 seasons. I just don’t get out enough to need replacement that often.
When I was playing more, it was once a year to kickoff the season.
1x a year. I am holding off right now because the arccos sensors but will probably change my grips in the summer.
Usually once a year. The Z Grips that came on my Apex 21 irons are still tacky, so I haven’t had to. Really impressive with how much use they see and how tightly I strangle my clubs.
every 2 years

Exactly!
If my wife knew old clubs could be regripped, I’d have a lot of explaining to do. :censored:
I’ve regripped my driver twice because I’ve had it so long but usually 3 years or so.

Probably not nearly often enough. I change them when I start to notice them getting slick, which by then it’s probably too late.
Not very often for a couple reasons.
1. I clean my my clubs just about after every shot. This includes the grips.
2. i wear two gloves (sun protection) so even when the grip does wear a little, the gloves provide extra gripping of the club.
When I do regrip, all 13 clubs get a new grip, regardless.
I would probably regrip more if I could do it at home. Another item on my wish list for my garage
Every Spring I regrip them all and sometimes the driver gets another new one mid season as well.
It is a combination of how frequently I need to regrip AND how much of a disaster my garage/re-grip station area is.
ummmm I don’t think I have actually regripped a set due to need in like 2-3 years….. due to getting new clubs haha.
THis year though, I will probably re grip the irons at some point. Theyll need it closer to summer, but also to put in the new lamkin grips to match my driver and 4 iron. They are super good. I have the St+ hybrid. love them
Typically every couple years unless I’m experimenting with things. I tried out standard size grips last year and didn’t like them so went back to mid-size. Barring a boom in rounds the next couple years I’ll regrip again spring of ’24.
After the second season with irons. Wedges/Woods sometimes sooner. Or i get a new club(s) and dont need to

It really is pretty easy to do with minimal tools. I have a basic shaft clamp and a hook blade utility knife. No gripping station or anything like that. Used to do it with less prior to building the garage.
I’ll do my own if I have the grips on hand. I will still have the store do them sometimes if I’m there. I have the practice membership at PGATSS and they comp the installation on grips purchased there, so it’s not bad. Had better luck there than at golf galaxy.

Quite honestly I hadn’t played enough to warrant the investment haha even though it isnt much of an investment cost wise. But with the trend Im on, I can see myself adding a set up soon
Im afraid to post this response…
In the 10 years that I’ve had my clubs, I have not regripped once.. I am ashamed of myself, but honesty is the only way.
Real talk, I’m getting ready to regrip my set haha.
