When new products are released onto the market it seems that drivers and their latest developments seem to captivate people. While I enjoy the latest driver introduced to the market, a release of a new iron line that truly sparks my interest is much more captivating to me. This weekend I had the opportunity and pleasure of playing the Nickent ARC Blades and I am excited to share with all of you my experience and findings. Over the last few years, I have tested a great deal of irons but rarely will I find a set that can ultimately replace my set of blades. I am pleased to say that I have finally found a set that has found a permanent place in my bag.
At first sight the Nickent ARC blades are truly a piece of art. The club head follows the classic design of a traditional blade with a compact head, moderate top line thickness, and just the right amount of offset throughout the set. The aesthetics are on spot as well and are finished with a beautiful tour satin chrome, which accomplishes the goal of reducing glare. The aesthetics and club head design of the Nickent ARC blade combined with ARC technology creates a smooth feel at impact and a penetrating ball flight.
When compared to other traditional blades on the market, the Nickent ARC blades have all of the features one would typically find with a blade, but possess key features that separate the club from the rest of the pack. The irons have been designed with Nickent’s Accelerated Rebound Core (ARC) technology. ARC technology is a high-rebound elastomer positioned directly behind the impact zone for a lively, solid reaction off the face while eliminating vibration. Nickent implemented this technology in order to produce an internal cavity that allows weight to be distributed around the perimeter of the iron. Ultimately, the distribution of the weight produces a more stable and forgiving iron without sacrificing performance and control.
Playability, forgiveness, and feel are critical elements when truly assessing the strength of an iron. It is common to find an iron that may posses one or two of these elements but rare to find an iron that possesses all three. At address the Nickent ARC blades set up as a timeless set of blades but incorporate modern technologies that increase their forgiveness without sacrificing playability. The perimeter weighting, produced by the internal cavity and ARC technology, is evident when playing the ARC Blade. The irons produce a soft, solid feel at impact. What impresses me the most with the ARC blades is the forgiveness offered while maintaining the classic look and feel of a traditional blade. Controlling trajectory and ball flight with the Nickent ARC blades came with ease and I found the irons forgiving on off center hits, specifically balls hit towards the toe. Essentially, the Nickent ARC Blades offer the playability and performance of a blade while offering the forgiveness of a performance cavity back iron.
John B. Hoeflich and his team of designers at Nickent have struck gold with the Nickent ARC blades. After a few practice sessions and rounds with these clubs I can honestly say that these are the greatest blades I have ever played. If you are an accomplished player or someone looking to transition into a set of blades I cannot stress the level of performance accomplished with the Nickent ARC Blades.
During our review we also tested this set with two other players. One an assistant teaching pro that is a Mizuno player and another that is a Titleist player. Both of these people declared these clubs “the finest irons that they have ever hit.” That is obviously purely an opinion and we are in no way suggesting that these are for everybody. However if you are looking at new sets, make sure to check them out. You will not be let down. To read more about the Arc Blades and see tons of pictures of the clubs check them out at Arc Blades.

Great review. Makes me want to rethink my iron choice. Blades that have forgiveness. But one thing is for sure. They are amazing looking.
These irons are similar in design to a Taylor Made model released in the early 1990’s, so it is not a new concept. The three holes towards the toe are there for a reason and that reason is to reduce “toe flip” on strikes towards the toe; similar to what cavity back clubs do. IMO these are not traditional blades and will not perform like traditional blades but as game improvement blades .
John Hoeflich designed the Taylor Made models too, so that is expected. But how can you comment on how these play when you have never hit them?
I cannot stress the amount of plability these irons produce. I have played blades from every major manufacturer and they compare to all and out perform most. It’s difficult to consider a blade iron to be a “game improvement” blade. Without actually playing these irons it is difficult to question their performance. Nickent makes a product whose quality speaks for itself.
The irons are well balanced are work well with the stock dyamic gold shaft. I believe they are a D2 swingweight so I did not feel them to be to heavy at all.
Great review DD… I have quickly become a big fan of Nickent Golf. I was tempted to buy these clubs blind back in August but didnt because I am probably not a good enough striker to play blades. I have since bought 57’s for my bag and 32’s to grow into. I have since hit both of the Nickent lines. I would put the 4dx and the arcs head to head against the mizzys all day long. All four are outstanding clubs… In due time I think the Nickent brand will be one of the more popular lines purely because of quality of product.
I have seen Nickent made great strides over the last 5-7 years and I believe it speaks to the confidence they have in their product. I find it amazing that there are several touring professionals who have put Nickent hybrids in their bags without compensation.
As for the review, it is solely my perception and findings while reviewing the clubs. I can’t say that they would fit every player, but if you are someone who is looking for a new set or transitioning into a blade iron you just can’t ignore the ARC blades.
I must have these irons. I am going to try these out this week. This is about the 3rd time in the last few months that I have been told how great these clubs are.
I have been driving all over town today trying to find these for my husband. I finally gave up and ordered them online. He has wanted them for about 3 months now. Thanks for the great review.
I had the good fortune of getting to hit these irons. I will go on record as saying they are the best irons that I have ever hit. They are solid, very easy to hit, and forgiving for a blade. GREAT CLUBS!!!!
the 3 dots have nothing to do with toe flip, i guarantee it, i have talked to a nickent representative, its all for looks
I have been looking at a new set of irons for a couple of seasons now but couldn’t find anything that was A – in my price range and B – had the look and feel that I want. Nickent was always on my list of options, especially since I replaced my 3-W with the 15.5* 3DX Iron Wood (have hit so many great shots with that thing!) I was in my local golf retailer this past weekend and tried out the 5 iron from the ARC set. SOLD! Love the feel, look and the 217 yard shot! (on the simulator of course but hey, haven’t found a course that has them on hand to let me demo them.)
I’m looking to get a new set of irons. I grew up with only blades but ended up buying a set of Cobra SSi irons when I got back into golf. I am very intrested in the ARC irons. I don’t know which ones would be the best set of irons for a 10 handicap – the ARC irons or the 4DX Pro irons. I love both of the reviews that have been done on these clubs. Thank you
I used to play blades and two kids later found my game couldn’t keep up anymore. So I went down to golftown and tried these irons and now they are in my bag. Thanks for the review I wouldn’t have concidered them otherwise.
I have the original ARC blades in my bag now and about to purchase a new set. I will tell you that I personally love these clubs. I have been a big Nickent supporter for about 8 years now. Top quality clubs. I have hit the 4DX and these and really love these ARC blades. I originally started with the Genex 3DX game improvement irons with the 2 hybrids. When I changed to these irons, my game and scores went to a whole new level. The workablity and classic look are worth it. They are a little more forgiving than other blades I have hit. But they still give great feedback and sting you when you hit it way out on the toe. If you are looking for a set of blades, I would suggest you give these a shot and at least hit them.
Well I waited and waited and finally bought my ARC blade irons @ golftown during the boxing week sale. 65% off OMG! With the short season we have in Alberta I have been forced to take them to a short indoor driving range. Loved every single shot with them. Can’t wait for spring to arrive. I also have updated my wedge set to the ARC wedges. Currently I’m waiting for them to ship to me because I couldn’t find them anywhere in stores so I ordered them online for an awesome price of $50/each. They were/are half price on golfio.com if you’re interested. I went with the gunmetal finish as with my old wedges the glare on sunny days was to much. I love these clubs and I haven’t even played a round with them yet. Off to the simulator this weekend!
I purchased a set of these last year and they are truly amazing. I love the look and feel. I’m not sure how much I’ll be able to play this year and I’m wondering if I could incorporate the 4, 5 and 6 irons from the 4dx pro into this set. Has anyone played the 4dx pros? They are forged and designed by the same team, so I am inclined to think that they will work with this set. You can buy a new set of the 4dx’s for $170 on Ebay! Any advice is appreciated.
Just purchased a set on ebay, might be the last set for sale on the planet! cant wait!! Did not come with the PW, anyone out there with a PW ARC Blade and want to sell, let me know.
