Off Course is back this week with a fantastic show. Hosted by Dan Edwards each Friday he gives you a deep look into the world of golf and equipment in a way unlike any other podcast has done before. Today Dan welcomes THP Staff Writer, Dean to the show to talk about putters and winterizing golf.
It wouldn’t be Off Course without some tangents, but Dean joins the show to talk a bit about the balance point of putters, keeping warm on the golf course and changing grips. This fun episode has a lot going on and it is an episode you will not want to miss as Dean goes Off Course.
Episode 82 is here and Dan and Dean discuss the following topics.
Putters
Sacks Parente Series 99
Staying Warm During Colder Golf
Dan Needing To Change Grips
And so much more

I haven’t really ever been big on the set GW. I love the idea of it being a transitional wedge slot. And no, I do not have the GW.
I really think we all have a putter identity. There are huge benefits to a mallet and I don’t have any issue with anyone using them (well).
Oh that is another great example. That video showing the CBX2 being more consistent and more precise. That was a fun video to film.
This is my stance on equipment. If you hit the hammer better than anything else, play it!

Dan could make that work.
In my defense… Edel is ?????
That Bag Boy Warmer looks pretty sweet.
Probably got it, try it a few times, but then you’ll go right back to hot hands.
does look cool though
I have one of the zippo fueled ones which works well but scares the crap out of me at the same time.
Given you stated it’s basically a full swing club, why not into the set gap wedge? not judging, truly curious as it’s been fun to play with that spot this past year and I’m still torn on which way I would fall
Do you flight it a bunch? just history of not playing one? is it the whole change thing?
I had it in the cart. It’s not there anymore. But where did it go?
Ohhhhh I hate you today.
Great question. I’ve read lots of THPers struggle with distance on GW and it was my experience the last time I tried. I just haven’t had one in the bag for ages, love the features of a wedge and the mindset it produces.
I’d absolutely give the CBX2 some love.
Arccos told me, at least, that my distance control with the blade wedge was poor, so the set Forged Tec showed up this week. If that gives me fits the CBX2 is likely the next move if I can still get one, or the CBX Zipcore replacement that is apparently coming
I had one in the cart also.
I know where it went.
I think everyone assumed you have boxes of hot hands already at your disposal
I actually might be down to my last set.
I am only a few min in but. If we are talking grips the conversation should start with Z cords.
I’m pretty sure he has a storage room that looks like an Indiana jones warehouse with balls, gloves, grips, hot hands, hats, 1/4 zips, shoes
I am personally happy Dan has found success with the Super Rat ?.
I don’t care if the ankle is cold or not, that always freaking sucks
yeah keep the hands warm, keep the core warm, and for me, keep my ears warm
Agree on all parts. I want to keep my feet warm but haven’t found socks I like for that. It’s a fine balance between warm and toasty and hot and sweaty.
Woah now, that’s a great idea for a third podcast. His second in the hopper is a Funko-Cast Right @Canadan
I need an extra day a week.
Because I am starting to agree. I need to stop trying different balls all the time. But I like to try.
Also prov1 left for is amazing. I want more..
I’m a believer that I had my best real prolonged stretch of putting with that M9. It’s a reason I look back it, I just want it to be heavier and a bit more modern.
