While the new TSR drivers are sure to get the largest share of initial attention, make no mistake, Titleist knew they had their work cut out for them to take the immensely popular TSi fairways and improve upon them for this release as well.
How did they do it? By focusing on what they call the “Four F’s”, Flight, Feel, Form, and Forgiveness.
Say hello to the three new TSR fairway metals.
Titleist TSR Fairways
A major focus with this release was in trying to perfect the CG within each model, what Titleist ended up with is the lowest CG they have ever built into a fairway. By achieving this, they have created a higher launching clubhead which means more playable for golfers of all types.
This CG movement was of course done by removing and replacing weight elsewhere in the heads, to do that Titleist created what they are calling their “Open Hosel Construction”. Typically, a lot of weight is located in the hosel region of a design, Titleist has removed a significant portion of that by opening the hosel and moving that weight into specific locations depending on the clubhead in the lineup.
The TSR fairway release is made up of three different clubheads, but no, they are not the same as the drivers. Here, Titleist is introducing the TSR2, TSR2+, and TSR3 fairway metals.
Titleist TSR2 Fairway
The follow up to the incredibly successful TSi2 fairways, the TSR2 builds on that same foundation of easy launch, massive forgiveness, and impressive distance. This clubhead is the lowest CG of the three TSR fairway designs, in fact, Titleist is also calling it the lowest CG ever for an all-steel design. The TSR2 is a high-launch and mid-spin club which offers the company’s SureFit adapter for additional adjustability. Worth noting, like the TSR2 driver, gone is the grey finish which the TSi2 had as now the look blends with the whole lineup.
Loft Options: 15.0, 16.5, 18.0 RH/LH, 21.0 RH Only
Titleist TSR2+ Fairway
This one is going to turn some heads.
Listening to its Tour Staff, Titleist went to the design table and came back with an answer to their clamoring for a tee-biased fairway metal which could still be used off the deck. While it won’t be for everyone, this stronger lofted design fills a need in the TS family that is sure to excite many.
The TSR2+ has a larger overall profile than the TSR2, including a taller face. What it also offers over its sibling? More forgiveness. Due to its profile, this club features the deepest CG location of any Titleist fairway, that means maximizing long and straight. In all, it is a 13-degree rocket launcher. As is the case with the whole lineup, the SureFit adapter will also allow some fine-tuning.
Loft Options: 13.0 RH/LH
Titleist TSR3 Fairway
Finally, the TSR3, the precision instrument of the new TSR fairway metals. This head not only features the SureFit adapter, but also the new five-point Adjustable CG Track System which adds to the precision aspect. A mid-high launch and low-spin design, this is the players fairway that showcases not just power but workability for the demanding golfer. With a classic and sleek shape as well as a compact look at address, the TSR3 rounds out the lineup very well.
Loft Options: 15.0 and 16.5 RH/LH, 13.5 and 18.0 RH Only
The Details
Like the drivers, the TSR fairway metals will release on 9/23/2022 and feature the same wide-ranging, no upcharge and custom shafts. As standard, the lineup will offer Project X’s HZRDUS Red CB and HZRDUS Black 4G, as well as the Mitsubishi Chemical Tensei AV Blue with Xlink and Tensei 1K Black. More than that, for a $200.00 upcharge the Graphite Design Tour AD UB, Tour AD IZ, and Tour AD DI will also be available. Yes, there is a full catalog of other full upcharge shafts, but the Graphite Design “Premium” level option is quite cool to see. The TSR fairways will be priced at $349 for the standard options, and $549 for premium.

That’s some A++++ customer service.
I love my TSR3 wood. Like the launch is pretty high but I don’t feel like I lose distance. Ballyhack I had 262 and 255 distances the first day. Again I also feel like it’s controlled. Like I always really dreaded pulling my three wood before and now I step up with confidence. It’s a great feeling.
I’m a little shorter distance wise but if I need 230 and straight the TSR3 FW is automatic. Might be my fav over my driver ?
I hit the TSR2+ sorta OK. I might have hit some decently moved ones both days on #10 at Ballyhack. Allegedly.
That 910 in my opinion has been there best have I have tried. Have some amazing memories with that club. @SkiBumGolfer we rocked the 910’s at the same time.
To hear this one is more forgiving and faster brings a smile to my face. I may need to give this one a go. They are having a demo this weekend , which I am sure to attend now.

The amount of advancements from 910 to this are more than words can describe haha
I cannot wait to get mine! Titleist delivery times seem to be pretty out there! They must have had a lot of orders! I talked to my local store and they said they cant even get demos right now!

Oh yeah I can imagine. For myself the 913 and 915 did not work for my swing at all, but always love a Titleist wood.

Do you think the tsr2+ would work for moderate swingers? Will it still work Off the deck too or is it more of a tee club at 95 mpg?

Only way to tell is a fitting. You will need to see if your swing generates enough spin to make that low loft work for you.
Beauty of it is there’s lots of options within this line and surely there will be a good fit for you in there!
Drove a 282 yard par 4 in a scramble with my 2+ yesterday and made the eagle putt solo. Still not internet long, but maybe one day I will be!:p
The three wood is a cheat code. I had two chunky three wood shots today and both went 240s. Just wtf lol.
I remain enamored but the TSR2+
The last fairway I was this smitten with was the SIM Ti, but this trumps that in all data I’ve got stored away, and that says it all.
Has anybody tried the 1k Black 85g vs 75g in a fairway? After doing a driver fitting and getting placed in the 65 stiff I’m considering throwing the 75g stiff in my TSR2+ and either 75 or 85g in my 5-wood. I wish I could have completed the fittings with the fairways as well but time didn’t allow. I have the HZRDUS 4g 6.5 in both fairways now. It’s a killer fit in the 2+ but results weren’t great in the 5-wood with a couple pulls on the course. My simple mind likes when the clubs match and shafts feel the same, so I feel like the 1k Black to match the fitted driver makes sense.

I have not but I can’t imagine needing significantly stiffer or heavier than the 75g 1K Black. I would think if the 75g in the 2+ is money for you, it would still be money in the 5w. It’s sure money in my 4w!
I now find myself honestly hitting this more than my driver these days because of the distance. Driver tends to be over kill on most of courses I’ve been playing lately unless it’s a par 5. Though I won’t lie if it’s a shorter par 4 I’m tempted to go for it. Maybe I need a long course to stretch both their legs a bit.
I just called CS again to see where mine might be, ordered over a month ago and they are out of heads again for the fairways. So little bit longer wait on the 3+ and I’m not happy about it at all. 😡

A lot of courses near me have holes where driver is too much or not the play. My TSR3 FW is like cheating around here ;).
So I struggled with driver today, but this was a pretty useful shot. Sometimes I think I should hit this club a LOT more off the tee because man is it consistent. 240-250 straight up the gut most of the time is a pretty nice place to be.

I think likely I’ll be replacing my hybrid with the new TSR one coming out which might become my go to from the tee when that happens if it carries anything like the driver and woods.

I’m definitely going to check out the events when they tour around and see if there are any improvements to be had! And based on the drivers and fairways, I know where my money’s at on that bet… ?
If work cooperates today, I think it’s time to get back out there with this 3W in a different setting to see how it goes.

Yeah the fact is now my hybrid is the oldest club and will be due to replace which given my now new job that I just got this week which is a major upgrade I feel I can treat myself a bit.
Went to the range at lunch to hit a few…
Worked my way up through the bag….. pull out the TSR2 3 wood. Hit one ball…….absolutely perfect. Looked down at the club, put the head cover back on and put it back in the bag. It won’t get better, so why bother! SO good!
Tell me there is a better looking fairway…. I’ll wait…..

It’s easy off the deck. There’s a reason there was debate if they should put the loft on the head or not, that 13 number might unduly scare people away
Swapped the HZRDUS 4G 6.5 out for the Tensei 1K black 75 stiff in my TSR2+. Felt like I had to overswing the 6.5. All shots below from the tee. Overall so happy with the swap, steady 250-260 from the tee with the potential to go a little longer. This club is a huge boost of confidence for tee shots that are tighter or don’t require full driver distance. Love it!

I have played 13 degree strong fairways before, so I am definitely not doubting myself, but I would love to compare it against my current 3 wood, because it is a bomber for me.
Was the range today at lunch and after I hit a few the face seemed off a little bit. I think it might be dented in a little bit ?, I hope not because I’m hitting it really well.

Dunno. That ^ was the 5W. I’ve thought about swapping a 4W for the UDub, or playing an actual 3W for the winter with something other than my Fli-Hi. Not sure. That’s why I haven’t pulled the trigger on anything. The TSR2 3W is really really good. I like it, just not sure how I’d use it.
Went to 3 different stores and finally found a TSR2+
Hit that at 13* vs the TSR3 and found I liked the TSR2+ alot more. I really dont have a use for fairways which is why ive played he Original One and 300 mini the last few years as a 2nd tee option. TSR2+ was easy to hit from the deck if I ever need it but also performed off the tee. It definitely is not on the 300 mini’s level for ease of use off the tee but I dont expect it to be
overall I can see alot of people finding use for the 2+ option this year. Speed, launch, and spin were exactly where I would want this club to fit in my bag setup. Now im just waiting for the hybrid to release so I can get something at the 19* option

Just like I’ve been saying all along. 😎
That 13 number on there is going to scare some away, and it really shouldn’t.
My TSRs put on a show in a bit of match play against my bud this week. The distance difference between us rattled him the first holes.
I kind of can’t get over how good that little 5W did on a couple skinny strikes yesterday. I didn’t want to swing my UW at that point, my maybe I should have. I hit the first one, and another one super thin, and I think they still got up in the air pretty well.
I would love for mine to come in, still waiting on Titleist to get heads.
I used my TSR2 fairway wood off the deck twice today on par 5’s. The first one was 248 yards and I hit it the face a little toe side and ended up on the front of the green. The second was 245 yards and I also hit it toe side and a little chunky but it still ran it up just short of the pin and just left off the green. Both led to birdies!
I had a couple of great shots off the tee with it also. This thing has brought instant confidence as a tee club on tight holes which is a huge deal for me.
I got a back appointment with a ortho and then hopefully get out for a bit with the TSRs. My wood has started to become my tee shot now as the driver is overkill many times. Considering I’m up and down with my wedges getting a few yards isn’t worth it when you are getting 255 atlleast anyway and getting a pitch in either way.
I hit the TSR2 16.5* 3 times yesterday. One was a layup tee shot that I toe hooked pretty bad (curse you tendency to pull arms in at impact!!!), but still got away with it – went 230 and put me in a reasonable position. Pretty solid.
Two was chasing a severely uphill par 5. Hit it well and straight but clipped a couple trees and between that and the uphill, only went about 200. Still left me an easy chip, which I promptly screwed up and settled for par, but that’s not the 4W’s fault :ROFLMAO:
Three was going after the last par 5 in 2. Hooked it a bit and dumped it in water short left of the green. Just a dumb decision, but I was beyond caring about the score at that point and I just wanted to hit it lol.
Continue to love the flight and forgiveness on this club, especially when I catch it thin. I still get super respectable results out of those types of misses. And I’m kind of addicted to what it sounds like, TBH. It’s muted and quiet, but still has that classic Titleist metal, solid *tink*.
Also, FWIW, I had my coach look at the numbers on this one as well while he was looking at driver, and I only hit a couple balls and he was sold on it. Solid strikes at 235-240 carry with high 3000’s backspin and a steep descent angle. He said, “yep that’ll hold a green!”
5 wood came in!
