At THP, we believe that testing should be done not only by us, but also by the golfers just like you. One of the cool features about being an active member of the THP Forum is that we look to you guys/gals, the consumers, to give feedback on equipment to golfers all around the world. Each month we send out iron sets, drivers, hybrids, putters, trainings aids and golf balls to our active members to be a part of the THP Forum Member testing.
Earlier this year we had all of the details on the new Chrome Soft and Chrome Soft X. Based on early feedback in the THP Forum thread, to say they are well liked would be an understatement. We thought it would be fun to get more feedback from others, so today is a chance to sign up to test and review.
We will be selecting 12 golfers and each will receive a half dozen in the ball of their choosing. Your job will be to review the new Chrome Soft or Chrome Soft X and share your feedback on the THP Forum here. Like all of the forum testing, you must be able to check in frequently to discuss and answer questions.

What ball do you currently play?
Do you prefer Chrome Soft or Chrome Soft X and Why?
Chrome soft: played one round with these balls (found three at the course) and scored lower than my average. Haven’t decided to make the switch yet.
Do you prefer Chrome Soft or Chrome Soft X and Why? Chrome Soft gives me better performance overall and a better feel
I would prefer the Chrome Soft. I like the softer feel, less spin, and more distance off the tee while still having a solid amount of spin in the mid irons to wedges for approach shots. I have played and liked the Callaway Hex tour soft in the past as well, which is said to have a similar feel as the chrome soft because of the similarity in layers.
I played a couple of rounds with the Chrome softs earlier this year. Would prefer the chrome soft x as it would add a bit more spin and distance to my game. And we all know distance is what its all about, thanks DeChambeau.
I’ve played the Chrome Soft. So, it would be nice to try out the Chrome Soft X to identify whether I notice any differences and/or improvements.
I would prefer the Chrome Soft due to the softer feel around the greens and less spin on full shots vs Chrome soft x. Also, I like the triple track as I like line on the ball to line up putts.
Wishing for more distance off the tee. Played prior version CS. CS is tad longer off the tee but with less spins around green compare to TP5 & RX.
Hopefully 2020 Chrome Soft gives me best of both world. Love to try 2020 version of Chrome Soft.

Played chrome soft before but after the quality control issues I’ve been very hesitant to go back. I would love to give the new chrome soft x a try and compare it to my current gamer.
Never given any though to playing a Callaway ball. Don’t know why. Just haven’t. But in my current openness to new things, I would love to try. Suspect I’d prefer the Chrome Soft over the X. Thx
Chrome soft X
Looking for a ball that I can maneuver.
I would like to try the CSX for the continued extra distance off the tee while being able to trust the short game spin that sometimes be the difference between a one putt or a two putt
I think I would prefer Chrome Soft x. I would like the ball with higher flight and more distance. Thanks!
1. Currently I don’t have a certain ball I play…I kind of bounce around, trying different options. Right now playing Srixon Soft Feel (Tour Yellow). I do like the feel of these, but have heard good things about the Callaway Chrome. I do have some Callaway Super Hot balls at home as well, that I have played in the past. I rotated the Srixon in as I got a deal on them around Father’s Day and wanted to give ’em a try.
2. Having read up on Chrome Soft and Chrome Soft X…I think I’d get more out of Chrome Soft’s increased distance and more consistent ball flight. I have made some improvements in both areas this year, but wondering if this ball could potentially help even more. In addition, I have done the Callaway online ball fitting tool and my top two options are Chrome Soft or ERC Soft…based on that, I think Soft is more for me over Soft X. I’d basically be looking for a bit more distance and a nice soft feel around the green, and I think/hope that ball would deliver both.
I would like to test the Chrome Soft ball as I would want as much of a consistent trajectory as possible for me with some workability around the greens as well.
I want the chrome soft x for more distance and spin.
i would like to test the chrome soft for the forgiveness and lover spin on full shots i love the look of the triple track on the balls
I’d like to try out the Chrome Soft for it’s less spin & soft feel around the greens. Plus I want to see if the alignment aid really works or not
I’ve always loved the feel of Chromesofts.

I can’t be a tester either. I’ve been playing the CSX since April and not sure I would give up playing it for even a round.
Chrome soft X
Looking for a ball that I grab onto and use a while.
I’d like to try the Chromesoft because I have a slower swing speed
I’d love to test Chrome Soft X to compare against Pro V1X since previous Chrome Soft X was very hard and not always even centered (I felt it) and would love to feel and test new improved (so called) Callaway X balls. I will be straight and blunt for my testing…yes it it’s good or BAD, I will tell you as I felt!!!
I’d like to try the Chrome Soft as I assume it is softer in feel, and liked the Callaway balls years ago like the HX Tours.
I’m a highschool golfer who plays in the junior pga and I am looking for a softer feel with the chomesoft and i love the triple track to line up with my spyder x putter. I would be very excited to play these golf balls and provide feedback from a high schooler with big dreams, Thanks!
If those reasons don’t make you want to try them, not sure what would.
