DARKSPEED is a big release for Cobra golf, so there should be no surprise to see a full complement of fairway woods and hybrids. Utilizing PWR-BRIDGE weighting, PWRSHELL with H.O.T. FACE, and carbon fiber crown technologies, these metal woods offer increased speed, distance, and forgiveness to golfers. Each fairway comes equipped with MyFly8 Adjustable Loft Technology, allowing golfers to easily adjust the loft to meet their launch and spin requirements.

DARKSPEED LS
The DARKSPEED LS fairway wood is designed for golfers with faster swing speeds and is equipped with a space-grade titanium body and a titanium PWRSHELL H.O.T. FACE insert. Using titanium in this design helped Cobra R&D save discretionary weight and reallocate it to a lower and forward position in the head. Combining 68 grams of tungsten and PWR-BRIDGE technology helps shift the CG lower and forward, resulting in maximum ball speed and distance. Moreover, a lightweight carbon crown also contributes to weight reduction in the upper portion of the clubhead, leading to a CG location that is 3.2mm lower to the ground than in the previous model. Golfers can also fine-tune their ball flight with three swappable weights (2x 12 grams and single 3 grams).

DARKSPEED LS is offered in 3+ (13) , 3 (14.5), 5 (17.5) and comes with a UST Mamiya LIN-Q M40X White 70g shaft.
DARKSPEED X
Golfers looking for that all-around performing fairway wood will enjoy the balance afforded by DARKSPEED X, as it offers a blend of distance, easy launch, and forgiveness. As with DARKSPEED LS and MAX, X gets a boost from PWR-BRIDGE and POWERSHELL H.O.T. FACE Technology. One difference between X and the other models in the lineup is that X has no moveable weights. Instead, it gets just a lone 8-gram in the rear of the head.
DARKSPEED X is offered in 3W (15°), 5W (18°), and 7W (21°) and is paired with a UST Mamiya LIN-Q M40X Blue shaft.

DARKSPEED MAX
DARKSPEED MAX represents the most forgiving fairway wood in the lineup and is the most draw-weighted. One thing the X and the LS have in common is that they offer adjustable weights; only the MAX has one 12-gram weight and one 3-gram weight. Golfers looking for more draw bias can push the weight in the heel port or opt for the weight in the back for an even higher MOI design. MAX still receives the benefits of PWR-BRIDGE weighting, POWERSHELL H.O.T. Face technology, and a variable-thickness face design. Also, like its siblings, it is topped off with a carbon fiber crown to help lower that center of gravity.
DARKSPEED MAX is offered in 3W (15.5°), 5W (18.5°), and 7W (21.5°) and comes with the stock UST Mamiya LIN-Q M40X Red shaft available in senior, regular, and stiff flex. There is also a women’s model offered in 3W (18.5°), 5W (21.5°), and 7W (24.5°) with a UST Helium Nanocore Shaft.
Prices:
$429 DARKSPEED LS
$329 DARKSPEED X
$329 DARKSPEED MAX

DARKSPEED Hybrids
Cobra’s hybrid range has demonstrated impressive versatility throughout the past few release cycles despite being sometimes overlooked. The DARKSPEED Hybrid gets a boost in performance from PWR-BRIDGE weighting and Cobra’s POWERSHELL H.O.T. FACE Technology. The combination of these features is slated to provide golfers with higher launch capabilities, faster ball speeds, and enhanced forgiveness.

The DARKSPEED Hybrid family does not include the MyFly8 adjustable hosel. However, this series does offer five different lofts for golfers to select from. These loft options for the regular hybrid models begin at 17° (2H) and extend to 28° (6H). Golfers searching for a hybrid that complements their ONE Length irons will be happy to know that the DARKSPEED series features a ONE Length hybrid with three available lofts ranging from 19° (3H) to 24° (5H). A women’s hybrid line is also available starting at 21° (4H) and maxing out at 31° (7H).
Price: $279
Cobra DARKSPEED metal woods are available for pre-order today and will be available in stores on January 19th, 2024.
These look awesome too! I bet they can put a hurt on the ball! I’m more intrigued by the hybrid than I thought I would be; will need to see how it looks in person!
LIN-Q stock shafts for the win! Seriously so cool to see. I’m sure they will continue to surprise a lot of golfers
OK Darkspeed fairway woods, this is the year!!! I am going to have a spot in the bag and it will stay there. 5w, I am looking at you, we are going to get along swell. Just like the drivers, absolutely love the aesthetic of these.
I absolutely love my AJ 5w. But knowing how well I hit the DS driver, it has me super intrigued about the 5w. I’ll definitely hit it and see how it stacks up. It looks phenomenal

A 17 LS sounds perfect.

One of the best head shapes out there for hitting off the ground to me.
I was browsing the Cobra site this morning, interesting that the size of the heads isn’t mentioned in the charts, Cobra usually lists that. However I did notice a little unexpected bonus in the X model specs… in fact I had to do a double take. There is a 3HF head with a standard loft of 16.5
This is part of the bag I am looking to upgrade this year….. oh my these look good.
Just based off of wants…. I am thinking
3W X or Max for tee ball purposes
3HF for par 5
and thennnnn just to round out, 3,4,5 Hybrids for funnzies
fingers crossed I get into the Morgan Cup this year

@jdtox what? haha too many headcovers? Im trying to increase launch and ease of use man!! especially since I am a tad too picky about my iron choices/preferences.
thinking on this now…. mayyyybe just get the darkspeed driver….. shorten my current LTDx to make a second driver, then go 3HF for second shot par 5 deals….. and possibly a 3H to round out the top of the bag….

Noticed that too! That’s a really interesting option. But is there something else that’s different besides the loft?

Being a week out from my first opportunity to hit these, I very much look forward to hearing your impressions after getting it on the course tomorrow. Which head/shaft combo did you go with @MSEASU?
***Apologies if I missed where you’d already mentioned which model you landed on.

Ok dumb question. What is HF? I am assuming high fly and the purpose is for those that struggle to launch 3woods?

Don’t hold me to this, @Wonger, but I believe heard today it was more aimed at the end game (holding a green) than simply just aimed toward folks who have a hard time launching. I may be saying that wrong. They talked alot about two camps: those who use the 3W more as a tee club vs those looking for (long) approach shots into the greens.
Saw these today at PGASS, love the matte black finish. Held the Max fairway in the aisle next to the AJ Max and they looked similar in size to me. Didn’t have them to hit but can’t wait to get the chance.

Same here. Was out a fairfax today for the Callaway demo. The finish on these looks awesome. I think the hybrid was my favorite out of the bunch looks wise. Size was perfect for me and the finish just makes them look mean. I think this line is going to appeal to a lot of golfers. I’ll be going back to hit these for sure.
Anyone hit these yet? They look amazing.

I have one 14.5ls. Unfortunately my swing was trash today. They seem to have a lot of pop and easy to hit.
