Hadwin: not sure why he is over-reacting, as you guys stated the tour will have dozens of options for the tour guys to pull the pins safely.
The Kirkland putter topic was entertaining. I’d def take the bourbon and cookies….although I do question the QC!
Letterkenny nod?
Yes, you can social distance with four people. Absolutely. No doubt. But people won’t.
Also, tee-times at 15 minutes apart is very long. But what happens when Joe Hacker tees off, duffs it down the hole, WHILE WALKING? That time can fill up really quick.
Maybe soon I will enjoy this during my walk around the golf course like the cool kids! haha @Jman enjoy it!
The course I’m playing later today has a max of a 3some, 12 minute intervals, walking only.
BUT if you get a teetime as a duo, they won’t pair you with a single.
I’m hoping this works pretty well.
I do sometimes relate it to fixing pitch marks. I mean people don’t do that and then complain about course conditions
Exactly. As soon as a few golf bros get on the course and pound a couple Natty Lights, stuff’s about to get REAL.
You’d be surprised about the social distancing and what they won’t do. I haven’t noticed issues with it in the few rounds I’ve gotten in, with friends or when watching other groups. Then again, FL vs IL I guess?
That’s it. I’m 100% growing my COVID-stache again.
Also to answer the question. I would buy a putter over bourbon. That is only because I am a nondrinker. I would probably buy a nice prime rib roast over both of those.
I enjoyed the Kirkland Putter conversation. Frankly the more I hear the more I want to try it. I buy Kirkland stuff all over Costco and buy grocery store house brands. I’m not a good enough player to worry what my club says. Good job!
lmao, if you ever hit me…
Also, off course, but you are 8 posts from 90k
I have to agree with this. I was talking to our head pro and he said it’s the busiest the course has ever been and outside of a couple of cases they haven’t had any issues with social distancing. And we’re only at 10 or 12 minute intervals between tee times for full foursomes.
This was another good episode guys. Those stipulations for Jersey sound crazy, it makes me appreciate my area a little more. I love the conversation on the Kirkland putter also. Keep up the great work!
For what it’s worth, I think that argument is perfectly viable from a ball standpoint. If you’re the type of player who doesn’t concern themselves with consistency or technology, but just loves to play the game, I think it’s a great option. My issue with Kirkland balls has ALWAYS been about the weird hype surrounding them.
Also, to the putter – it’s not about what the club says, it’s about the quality. Is it better to buy something with no R&D department, or head over to CallawayPreOwned (as an example) to buy an o-works red for 130 bucks? Or a brand new Cleveland Huntington Beach putter for 130.. Or a TaylorMade Ardmore over on Rock Bottom for 120… etc etc etc.
In this case, you’re paying more for what I can only assume is less.
lmao, LOVE that you’re using ‘off course’ here!
the big goal for this year is 100k. 90k is going to be pretty sweet though!
Why, did Brooks keep his?
Hell, you can get an HB new from Budget for $90 without a discount currently.
that is more what I am getting at. A quick search around the google machine will find endless offerings at a more competitive price.
Offerings with substantial backstory, R&D, and history of proven performance will always catch my eye opposed to just a "deal".
I tried the Ksig ball due to 1. all the hype and 2. it was cheap. I was not too impressed and dumped 2 dozen into a shag bag. It made a great practice ball.
For what is worth, you can still buy the Ksig ball. I can’t remember the brand. But another company is using the same formula and selling them for $50/dzn..
As soon as social distancing is done I’m going to kick you in the shin.
Great conversation so far guys!
1k a month…. #NewJersey
That sounds like a halfway decent livestream.
I guess I’ll cross that off the list of places to move to haha
potential quick topic from seeing last nights thread honma’s gold 5k driver?
@Canadan @HipCheck
I remember!!! it was pearl golf. I found their site and they are not even selling it anymore. But they were.

Right?! I know the course is nowhere near equivalent but I’m paying $12 for 18 today
The only kirkland alcohol I buy is the massive bottle of their "baileys" for weekend coffee and what not haha
You may be proven correct. Hype is a weird thing.Hype made Ty Tryon a lot of money until they figured out he could’nt play up to the hype. I mentioned buying store brand foods to make that point. Kroger doesnt have R&D but their pasta is just fine for my taste and the quality is too. Not sure if this is a good example but quality, taste, value is all in the eye of the beholder. I buy last years……everything so I agree with your last point.
I was a hard stop long before finding out the price of golf there
I know it’s a small data point, but for the most part, I have noticed most being good about the distancing here…. although…. i did see the above mentioned scenario happen haha. Group of 8 bros drinking and there were a lot of high fives and what not going on….
I also mentioned another example of cringy behavior to Rob and dan on the ole twitter handle.
never ever need a reason to move there besides it’s jersey……. told rob that first time I met him haha….. actually it could have been a "hey so where do you live again?"
Rob: "new jersey"
Me: Eww… Im sorry
Why does the logic to not try/buy the Kirkland putter any different from that of the Kirkland bourbon, cookies etc..?
We don’t know the tech, R&D and QC that went into the Kirkland bourbon, yet it seems ok to try/buy it? Even further still, the alcohol and cookies are being ingested, yet little is known about the quality. Luckily we are not eating the putter….unless someone loses a rough bet.
Not trying to ruffle feathers. I’m not buying the putter or any Costco products for that matter, as I’m not a member.
I’m on team #HasNeverTriedKirklandBourbon for what it’s worth haha
FWIW I have done thorough testing on the Kirkland cookies and they deliver. But that was a low risk high reward test versus a $150 putter buy.
I would argue the "low risk" point! Ha!
its terrible…..
Too true. After a round dozen cookies in one sitting I realized that no cookie buy is low risk. But let’s not get off course here!
Wait are we talking about New Jersey or sweet amber Kirkland spirits?
I mean New Jersey can’t be completely terrible right? There’s gotta be some upside to it? But no I was referring to the Kirkland signature bourbon they offer
I think it’s pretty silly about Edwin‘s comments about the flagstick. I just can’t see anybody but maybe the top 20 guys are so who would actually give them a chance to win 1,000,000+ dollars because they can’t get the flagstick pulled d
